  1. Perfectly normal, including the terrorist question too. Your case status should change to "card in production" in a few hours unless you still have pending background checks or if there is a backlog of files on the supervisor's desk waiting for approval or if they want to send out a post-interview RFE. Did the IO tell you about hearing back from them in about 30 or 60 days? You'll have to be patient and wait.

    Thanks Controlla,

The IO said they have everything. They didn't ask for any documents. They looked at the passports, ID's , and the combo cards. I ask If they wanted utility bill, paycheck stubs, marriage lic, bank account, etc. he only said he didn't need anything. Ask us to confirm the address that the results will be mailed. Printed a Notice of interview results reason for continuance is case held for review. Basically says we don't need anything at this time. We will mail you your results. The IO would not confirm if this is a positive thing or negative thing. This took place at the Irving, TX location.

Thanks all for your input I was hoping this was the final step and this life event would have closure. If anyone has anything to add I welcome your input.

  2. Start the K1 now! Both of you will need to get a bunch of documents together. Don't worry about a single meeting the K1 only requires 1 meeting. Save chat logs etc you will need to show a relationship. Make a list of what's needed for both of you and get started. Good luck on your journey. Provide what they want they can't say no.... Also realize if you can't provide what's needed that can't say yes!

  3. I just went thru this issue. Its doesn't matter what your country's law are regarding custody. Example in Asia the mother has custody by default unless contested. The USA requires 1 of 2 things. The father has to write a letter granting full custody and travel rights to the mother i can't remember the exact wording..i think the buzz word is consent... this document will need to to have an official notarized/ legalization stamp. It is better to use a USA notary. As the USA does not recognize every countries processes. The embassy has a notary or a list of official sites. Both people have to appear in person for US notary process. If the father is dead and he is on birth cert. then a death cert will work. Of course these need to be official documents. Option #2 is to petition the court of your country for sole custody. Many countries don't even have a process. If you provide a court document stating custody the Embassy wont have a problem. No matter the circumstance you need this document. Example no father listed birth cert , don't know the father, can't find the father, the father is dead but can't provide death cert. I would suggest contacting someone from your country that can provide country details to how to obtain one of these documents. This is just US travel law even US citizens can not travel abroad with a child with out one of the 2 documents. Technically even if your married and only one parent is traveling you should have a notarized Document stating its ok for the spouse to travel abroad. You might google " international travel with children".

  4. I suspect that Siam legal also held my application. I would have to assume the reason is money.Siam Legal is very expensive and i have heard good reviews. The truth is yes you can do all this yourself. Had i found VJ before i would have not hired a lawyer. It is sad but Thailand is full of scammers. A Thailand lady runs a visa service about a half block from embassy. She has people telling the Thai people she has an inside source to get visa. The unknowing believe her as many things in Thailand are done this way.

  5. Thanks all for the replies! I have called several times.I called 7am this morning 8/11 which prompted me to post on the VJ forum. I emailed nvcresearch@state.gov with the required info in the subject line and additional info in email body on Aug 7...I hope this is the correct address to request research/location and case status. Does anyone have any info on how long this takes or what the process involves?

To CatherineA: Hey thanks for the reply! I wanted to clarify the dates as maybe that will make a difference in future posters suggestions. My Lewisville, TX drop box NOA1 reply was 60+ days. VJ wont even let you select that long on your time line. If i understand correctly the NOA1 is just the hey you we got your stuff letter. My original packet arrived at the DropBox on March 28, 2015. NOA1 June2 i felt that this was a bit long to receive an NOA1.

The NOA2 July 7. The CSC took about 29 days which follows the VJ projected time line. I made the assumption (we all know how those go lol) that the NVC process would follow the projected Timeline as well. As a side note it appears most of the VJ users do follow the projected trend. There has to be a difference in why some cases flow better than others. If someone is enlightened please share.

    Thanks,

  6. Hello VJ! This is my first post. My question is how common is it for the NVC to run past 35 days? I have been monitoring the similar timelines and it appears mine is lagging. I used Siam Legal in Bangkok to process the documents. My NOA1 took 65 days most take 10. The NOA2 was normal now the NVC is lagging. I have not had any additional request for information. NOA2 dated July 7, 2015 I sent in an email for research Aug 7, 2015. I am watching other VJ times lines move along at a correct pace, any ideas????? Thanks
