I would recommend you take a close look at the medical exam documentation. We found that my wife's doctor in China filled everything out correctly EXCEPT they forgot to sign it. It made it through the I-129 process but to be safe she had another exam here in the US.
Good Luck!!

I appreciate the suggestion. I'll look into it.

Yes, translators are allowed in the interview. My wife's instructions clearly stated that if a translator is required we were to bring them with us. I'm guessing anyone else is not permitted.

My wife will be having here I-485 interview in August and we are looking for a qualified translator. Does anyone know of someone in the Phoenix area that is fluent in both English and Mandarin?

Hello,
My wife has her AOS interview scheduled for August 9th and we are looking for a translator who is fluent in both English and Mandarin. If anyone has a good referral or recommendation on how to find one we would be very appreciative. We would like to have one at the interview.

David

My wife filed on 2/1/16. EAD/travel card came in mail in 75 days. Status went to waiting to schedule interview on 5/12/2016. I think you are on schedule. I would recommend checking every couple of weeks. In the mean time get prepared for the interview. Take some stress off the plate if you know you are prepared . That is what we are doing. The main thing is to be patient but cautious. Good luck.

Patience. I know it's hard. But let the them work.

We just put down "in case of family emergency". No questions asked and was approved.

My wife's card came in 5 days after receiving the I-797 notice of approval.

My wife's EAD came in the mail on Monday. The title was only for the EAD. But, when I read the entire document it also mentioned that the AP was approved. I checked online and both show approved.

I agree that the process of immigrating can be very stressful. I have found it very useful to look at the wait times. There is a link to wait times on this website. Also, I follow other timelines that were filed about the same time. My wife's EAD took 75 days which is around the average. Just have to be patient.
Good luck with the job offer.

I'm a little confused. My wife had her medical examination in China and has a copy of the medical record and DS-3025.
My question is does she have to get another examination AND file a I-693 along with the I-485?
Or can the DS-3025 and medical report from China be sufficient?
Thanks in advance.

I'm going through the I-485, I-864 and I-765 forms and wanted to know if there is any preference for leaving empty fields blank or putting N/A? I know on the K-1 application they wanted them both ways. Thanks.

I used a one page affidavit just like you mentioned. Then I referenced which documents it pertained to.

She was approved on October 6. So we are expecting her passport and packet to arrive within the next week or so.

I'm not sure if there is any country specify biases but my fiancée and I are in a very similar situation. She is 20 years younger and recently divorced (less than 6 months). We followed the instructions and advice from VJ and her visa was approved two weeks ago. Good luck!

I know in China blocks of appointments are released periodically. My fiancée checked daily until some we released.

We were nervous too, but my fiancee was prepared and things went well. I answered some of your questions below. I hope things go well!
1. Can I attend the interview with her at Guangzhou, specifically? I know it's allowed in Manila as I read it on Mrs P's blog. [No]
2. If yes, does it help in any shape or form? I know my absence does not have negative impact, but would it help if I show up? [N/A]
3. In regarding to I-134, I have never done tax returns, and my employment started mid August of 2015. My annual salary is enough for 125%+ of the federal poverty guideline. But would the short employment period be an issue? I have the employment letter. pay stubs (I get paid bi-weekly). For co-sponsorship, I am undecided between using my brother or mother. My mother has filed for visa petitions for her siblings. They are still in the process. Does that affect her credibility as a co-sponsor? My brother started his full time employment a week earlier than I did, but he has filed for taxes for two years now. Neither sponsored anyone before and their incomes are enough to sponsor my fiance. [My fiancee said she turned in the I-134 form once she arrived. Then was called for the interview. Please refer to other threads for co-sponsors. I am not familiar with the requirements.]
4. For evidence of relationship, in your experience, is it necessary to go overboard(ie. have extensive logs of calls and messages, photos) and what worked best? [We did something similar to what we did on the I-129. We put in about 10-15 chat screen captures, pictures, boarding passes from second trip, new intent to marry from both of us, copies of money transfers. The interviewer just asked to see some recent photos. We have several with me, her and her family.]
5.Any overall tips for the interview? I have read reviews and experiences on this forum and others. Many people seemed to be satisfied and some were surprised how quick it was for the actual interview with the officer. But those rare cases of visa denial just turn my stomach.[My fiancee's interview lasted less than 5 minutes. We front loaded on the I-129. Make sure to bring all of the items requested in the interview checklist that came in the email. The interviewer asked my name, address, kids names, kids ages, what they do, then asked for some recent photos. Good luck! ]

My fiancee and I want to tell the VJ community thank you for all of the great information and recommendations we received as we navigated through the K-1 process. She had her interview this morning and was approved. NOA1 to approval in 83 days! We could not have done that without all of you. Thanks again!

It is also important to make sure the face is the correct size. Any drug store in the US can do it for you. The only problem is some insist on taking the picture too. I had to find a guy that would use a digital copy for my fiancée
July 2017 I 130 Filers for Parents
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hello. My wife came in on a K-1 visa a year ago and we are now filing for her some to come to the US. I have looked and would like to find some answers to some questions. My stepson is 11 and my wife has here 2 year green card.
1) I plan to be the petitioner. I understand that being a US citizen shortens the process. Is this correct.
2) I am not sure which forms need to be filed.
a) I-130 -- Yes.
b) G-325a -- Not sure for a minor.
c) I-864 -- My understanding is that I have to fill out another financial statement for my stepson. Is this correct?
d) I-130a -- I read that there are situations where another 130 must be filed. Does this apply to bringing over a minor stepson?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
David
