and my fiance is also from the same area as me and muslim but she was born in usa

So I'm assuming this isn't common at all

AP was complete on website so I took my passport to the embassy. Was told to leave my passport at embassy and will receive visa in 5 business days. I go to pick up visa from postal service and there is just my passport and no visa and a paper that says administrative processing. That is all the info. so I check ceac and it says Ready. I check embassy website and it says administrative processing complete.

What is going on? very confused.

Are the Administrative Processing and security check the same?

I didn't get what you're trying to say with mentioning the name "Ahmad"

Are you Iranian?

If they told you to wait for your number on the website it's most likely security check which goes to Washington DC to be completed. If you have a common Muslim name like Ahmed or Abdelrahman it can make the wait longer because it takes a while to clear your name. This is what I heard.

yeah mine is security check AP. They are tougher on Iranians with security checks I believe also think having a common name like Ahmed doesn't help either

I'm not sure, but I think they are harder and take longer on Iranian applicants with the administrative processing Ankara?

They said 2-3 months but website says 3-6 months. Anyone in Ankara in AP or been in AP recently can share your experiences?

On the Ankara website it just says case status: processing pending.

Yes still in AP. No missing documents just told we need administrative processing and it can take 2 to 3 months. On CEAC the status has been updated once since the interview.
