Enough about me though....I haven't seen a "how many" day count from you, Princesslee or Picobenz in a minute. Y'all still leaving me out here to be the resident motor mouth....

I can barely hold the phone to text...my hand is hurting so bad from the vaccines...but its 13 more days to go.

  6. Good early morning all...this is my 3rd attempt in trying to provide an update after speaking to my husband...internet connection issues...apparently an outage in my area. So here goes:

Important Tips (in no particular order):

    1. He said it's best to arrive early

    2. Once inside, you will be briefed on what documents are needed and the order in which they should be in.

    3. Although numbers are issued for each person, make sure you listen for you name to be called throughout the process.

    4. If you don't have the FREE downloadable medical form, they have them on hand for purchase for approx. 37JMD

    5. Cellphones are allowed but limited use

    6. You will need the address of where you will reside abroad and a local number and point of contact

    7. Ensure that your name is written on back of 4 passport photos

    8. Mothers will need to provide the name and date of birth of all children. This will be one of the items you will be briefed on before they start calling names and numbers to be seen.

    9. The longest wait in between services he experienced was about 30 mins.

    10. You will always be instructed or escorted on where to go next.

    11. You will visit the cashier twice. First time will be to pay for the exam and the second for vaccination payment.

    12. You will be provided receipts for all payments rendered. The receipt for the medical will have when the results will be ready for pickup and anyone can pick up the results on your behalf as long as they have that.

    13. He said it's good to be organized, He saw many people with "Fedex" type envelopes rambling through a lot of papers...he said make its easy even though you have time to get things together.

    Exam:

He stated that they check eyes, height, weight, blood pressure...routine vitals. X-Ray was taken prior to seeing the physician--this where he experienced the longest wait. Once in with the physician you will go through a exam like any other exam; remove clothing to your undergarments and checked. The doctor will also go through a battery of questions to collect your medical history, basically confirming what's on the medical form.

The doctor will tell you what vaccinations you will needed and you will be sent to the cashier to render payment. After payment, you will be given the shots and blood taken. The nurse or receptionist will ensure that you have visited every "department" to have the required services rendered and then you are done.

    Fees:

    1. Medical -15875 JMD (based on the picture of the receipt he sent me).

    2. Vaccinations - 8400 JMD (this will vary based on the vaccination each person needs. He needed 3).

He said that even though there were lots of people, the staff is very efficient with moving people through the process. Don't look for any small talk, he said. Hope this gives a little insight.

Can't wait to see the APRROVAL confirmations flow through for each and everyone. Blessings and good vibes!

*I will not say "good luck", as luck has to do with a game of chances. I pray for the very best for every single one of you as you move forward in this process and Godspeed.

Very informative n helpful...thank u. This gives a very good idea what to expect.

  7. Alright..it took him about 5 hrs from start to finish. He said that once they were inside everything moves quickly..be ready and pay attention. He stated that there was some confusing instructions regarding listing children on the form. They were first told to list all children even if they weren't accompanying -- he did that. But then the lady came back and said that this was only for "mothers." I had told him that he needed to question that but....anyways. He said they reviewed the medical form, asked him questions from the medical form, then he did a chest x-ray. He had to get 3 shots. He also mentioned that the kept his shot record and provided him with a new "U.S." shot record as the one he had would not be valid in the U.S.. He kept saying that there were lots of people but they were moving people along quickly. He laughed when he was telling me about the shots---I'm sure I will get more detail once he's back home regarding that experience and more in depth detail. All-in-all..he sounded excited..not sure if that was from the fact he was done for the day or because he is now starting to see the finish line (we pray).

He did give me the price of the 3 shots but because it was a little noisy, I couldn't really make it out. He also said that they informed him of when the results were going to be ready for pickup and that anyone can pick up the results as long as they have the receipt. Results are usually ready to pickup in the latter part of the afternoon. I don't know how the results are provided if they are in a sealed envelope that can only be opened by the IO at the Embassy

That doesn't sound so bad. His appointment was at 8?

  8. Good morning!!! Hope everyone is well...even Picobenz who say he is "selling out"....hahaha

Just wanted to let you all know the hubster is at Andrews right now for his extremely early medical appointment. I have received 3 calls --- poor thing. Anyways, I am being told that when he arrived (before the rooster crowed), there was already a line formed for Immigration medicals. Didn't realize that, that was the way it worked but any ways, I wanted to share with you all so you can be a little prepared for a possible line when you arrive. The last call I got, he indicated that they are already inside and even though there was a line..they were moving quick.

I'm sure that I will get a dozen or so more calls before its over with. I am positive I will get one when it comes around for the vaccinations, as he as admitted that "mi don't like needles..." If only I could be a fly on the wall to see that go down.

*Thanks Princesslee for checking on us and wishing us well!

Ur most welcome dear...thank u for keeping us posted.
