  1. Actually, the best is to schedule an interview as soon as possible since they will ask for documents at the interview and the AP will not start until they'll receive those documents :(

I just checked my portal this morning and it had a time and date posted for the interview, so all is well. AP is still showing on the Ceac popup so from reading all the posts here and from the past, that must be normal for this Embassy.

And I am guessing my fiance' was able to call them last night and finally schedule, lol. Will find out soon.

  2. Hello!

In my case, we've paid for an interview and had to wait too. But they did not receive any documents at all while the status at ceac said that documents were ready. Later, we actually did receive the letter from the embassy, it was actually an email and we could schedule an interview then.

    Good luck!

Btw, my AP was about 3-4 weeks long, in case anyone will need it!

Thank you very much for answering my question ambrolla. That sounds exactly like what is happening to us. The Ceac online notice clearly stated "Case was ready and at the Embassy...schedule interview". Then after we paid the DS-160 fee, ah not so fast. Then the dreaded "AP" excuse appeared on the Ceac online pop up. Oh well, I am hoping my fiance' will not have to wait more than two weeks with her relatives. If longer, we will rent an apartment and just wait it out, lol.

    Good luck to you also!

  3. Hello All,

Today after my fiance's tried to schedule her interview, but the Moscow embassy portal said our case was not ready for interview. And this is 2 weeks after reading that our case was" Ready to Schedule Interview".

I paid the DS-160 fee online this week and now the status reads" Administrative Processing". Why in the world would they take our money for the DS-160 fee, tell us to schedule interview, just to change status to "AP"? I am thinking this is just an excuse for we are on break or we are just lazy? lol

The lady told my fiance' that I would recieve a letter,(never heard that before) then, she could schedule the interview. Is this the proper way that this goes in Moscow?

Needless to say, My fiance'is flying from her city to Moscow on Tuesday of next week to do her medical and then wait for the interview. If they delay this past 2 weeks, then we will have to fly back to her city and I will not be a happy camper, lol.

Anybody else have this happen? or have an explanation? Thanks to any that can help answer.

  4. Surely roralau. We got our NOA-1 on Dec. 17, 2014, received our NOA-2 on June 19, 2015. NVC received the package on July 5, 2015. Our case was sent to the U.S. Embassy in Moscow on July 15th. So it took over 7 months for approval, and almost a month to make it past NVC. I was going to do one of those nice timelines, but got lazy, lol.

Did your case get to NVC yet?

    Thanks again, Mike

  5. They are open until midnight eastern time

Thanks roralau. I finally got through to an operator last night (July 15th.) The long wait of listening to "elevator music" was dreadful but after 1 hour and 10 minutes someone finally answered. Now I have my case and invoice numbers and the package is at the Moscow embassy. Needless to say we are both very happy!

I really wish I had joined this board in late 2013 when we got engaged. Just the great advice alone would have saved us much time and money from our trial and error. But you live and learn and we are near the finish line now.

Thanks and Good Luck to everyone on this board! A great bunch indeed!

  6. Yep this is the right number to call. Don't give up! I called at around 11pm EST and got through after about 30 min. Trust me at the end it is worth having it. Do not expect an email from NVC, I didn't get one and our package is at the consulate. The only way we knew that was by checking our status on CEAC. Hang in there. The redial button is your new best friend. Love your redial button.

Hey thanks jdwrentm. Guess I will try calling again tonight, did not know they would be open that late.

  7. To those that have gotten to State Dept. K-1 Visa waiting status, how did you obtain your case number? I have called for 2 weeks this number 603-334-0700 and have never gotten through after waiting 45 minutes or more. Is this the right number to call? if not is there a better number? I am hoping that they will they send me an email with my case number, cause calling them by telephone is not working, lol.

  8. Ok, case on the way to Moscow from NVC! :)

What should I expect now? Any advice?

So far I lined up the financial letters on my part and will fill out I-134 soon. Will arrange for Visa to Russia soon!

Fiancee has the police records on order, birth certificate, previous marriage, divorce papers and vaccination records will be translated and notarized as well just in case! What else besides filling out the DS-160, medical and scheduling the interview?

    Your input greatly appreciated!!!

You are a little ahead of me as I have not received my Case number yet from the NVC, but they do have my package as of phone call yesterday. The answers so far are the same advice I would give, 1. fill out DS-160 online (I wonder if I can pay the fee online for my fiance'?), 2. have police report done (that takes up to 2 weeks), 3. schedule medical before the interview, 3. then schedule interview. And of course follow the instructions on the Moscow embassy page for what she will need to bring as evidence of the relationship. Good Luck as I will be joining you in the process very shortly, I hope!

  9. No, not wrong information, but old information....there was a time when they did mail (maybe it was DHL) documents to the beneficiary....now they don't.

And back then, if you didn't receive them, you could download from the website and bring those.

    Good luck.

Hello baron555, Thank you for that update as I thought I had heard that in earlier Moscow cases. I called the NVC today and they said they received our paperwork July 6, but it is not "entered" into their system yet, thus no case number. Seven months to receive NOA2, and now I guess another long wait for Moscow to be ready for the interview.

From what I have read, the Moscow interview process does not appear to be very difficult or long? Thanks again for all the information.

  10. Okay, second call to NVC today. 25 redials to get through, no time spent in the queue, got an operator straight away.

As of today, the case is still not there. Today marks 19 days post NOA-2 and 8 days since the online status on the USCIS website changed to "sent to NVC".

The operator told me it might take until July 29th, but I will ignore that... :)

I'll try again on Friday, it better get there soon! ;) I am getting a little annoyed as it seems to take longer than the average I see on people's timelines.

@karmdl1: Should be around 4-8 weeks until you hear from the embassy.

Thanks TabeaK, I hope for a speedy conclusion for both of us.

  11. You do not need to contact NVC. You can, if you are impatient and want a number to track you petition enroute from NVC to the embassy. But you do not have to.

General advice is to fill the DS-160 once the case is at the embassy and they contact you - the majority of embassies does that by mailing a letter.

Hello TabeaK, Thanks for the information on when to file the DS-160 online form. Do you know how it is different from the G-325 and other forms my fiance has completed already? And what is the filing fee for that form? Thanks in advance.

  12. Congratulations. I know how long a wait it has been. When did you file your petition?

A minor clarification on my last post coa24, it should have read I delivered the K-1 package to my Attorney's office on Nov. 20 and they mailed it probably the next week to the Lewisville, Texas lockbox.

Now I am the lucky group that waits for her interview in Moscow. My Fiance should do well with that as we have been dating for almost 3 years. She teaches English and knows more about the U.S.A. than I do. She can not wait to see Lady Liberty, a dream of hers since childhood.

  13. KARMDL1 congratuletions

This wait is very long my case I received on December 17 and I'm still waiting

I hope that everyone is approved soon........

I was checking the USCIS numbers close to mine almost daily after I noticed that several were also dated Dec. 17th. At least we know that someone has finally picked up the Dec. 17th stack. Thanks, and I hope you get great news very soon also!

  14. Wow, wow, wow, I guess I picked a good and lucky day to join this board! I just checked my email and we are APPROVED!!!! :dancing: at 8:30 pm CST, tonight, June 19th NOA2 date. I am still in shock after the long wait since Dec. Just goes to show all on the board that if have a long standing relationship with plenty of proof evidence in your package, it will happen!!!

Good luck to all of you still waiting, but I am proof that TSC is doing the late Dec. group now!

  15. I hear you when I first did my research most sites said Canadians generally get the fiancé visa anywhere between 2-7 months. I am almost at the 7 month mark for my NOA2 - if I would have known it was going to take this long to get a fiancé visa, I would have gone the spouse visa route.

Thanks Canuck16.Until I got an attorney I was going by a friend's advice since he had done a K-1, 4 years ago. He told me I had to make 3 in-home visits to her country (Russia), which we now know is not true. I made 2 in-home stays with her in less than 2 years before I got smart and hired an immigration attorney in my home town. She said I had the best evidence she had ever seen in a K-1, so you just live and learn.

I thought there might be a method to the TSC madness, but so far, there appears to be no method, and all madness.

Good luck and hoping for a speedly approval for all of us still here waiting from 2014!

  16. New poster here, but long time board reader (since Nov 2014). Never did I think it would be 184 days from NOA-1 date and not a peep from TSC.

I was first told by my attorney in Nov. that it would take 60 days and now she says it has never been this slow. Oddly, in Feb. the Congress pulled a funding cut off stunt, have to wonder if that played a factor?

I have noticed a bunch of filers with my same Dec.17, 2014 NOA-1date.

My question to those that might know, does TSC put filers into dated bunches? It just seems that only a few Dec. dates pop up when doing the SRC number search, ex. Dec. 8, Dec.17, and Dec.28.

Good luck to all of us still waiting!!!! It appears that we have boarded a slow Texas boat. And congrats to those lucky few Dec. filers here!
