How to Pay the K1 Visa Fee at BPI

    1. Bring the three (3) necessary items mentioned above: Passport, K1 Visa Fee Payment and the $265 MRV slip with the prevailing $ to Php exchange rate. (Consular Fee Changes effective September 12, 2014)

    2. Go to your nearest BPI Branch.

    3. Use the BPI Express Assist terminal, also known as the touch-screen BEA Terminal, and proceed with selecting your banking transaction type and payment category: US Visa. When youre done, BEA will give you a number. This is to facilitate an easier number queuing at BPI branches.

    6. The teller will give you back the Customer Copy of the MRV Deposit Slip after theyve printed the transaction info at the back. DO NOT LOSE THIS. You need the MRV Receipt Number in order to schedule your K1 Visa interview online and you will have to present this slip on your K1 Visa Interview at the US Embassy, Manila.

  2. Has anyone run into the logistical nightmare of getting the birth certificate from the NSO in the Philippines on a k-1 visa? You have to go to the Local Civil Registry Office first and show 3 forms of ID and then take that form to the NSO to get your birth certificate on security paper. My fiances drivers licence expires this month so they wouldn't process her request even though it's still current. Now it's going to cost a hundred dollars to get the 3rd ID. Just a simple requirement of showing your birth certificate will cost you hundreds of dollars when you also add a k-2 visa. Looks like that government has figured out a way to take advantage of the visa requirements and milk as much money from applicant as possible.
