Don't apologize for ranting, I think a lot of us feel the same way.
I thought the process to bring your wife/fiancee back home with you would be a lot smoother and quicker, so we rented our condo out October 1st.
Little did I know it was going to be such a struggle. We've been crashing at the sister in laws for the last 9 months. It's pretty ridiculous what you have to go through to keep your family together....
I realize my situation is not as bad right now, but I sure do feel for you.

We also had a holiday in between. You might get lucky and get it real soon.
And I was pretty surprised as well, I had given up all hope of getting it tonight. We had planned on shipping all of our goods out tomorrow night on one of our trucks, but needed to be at the POE with her passport and visa before the truck. I tried calling Loomis to get an ETA, but they were already closed...

It changed to ISSUED on the 26th,but right underneath said that it was still under administrative processing.
It switched on Monday saying I should receive it in 5 days or so.

It literally just happened, I can't even believe it

Well, low and behold I received our Loomis email a few minutes ago. Apparently, our passport was dropped off at the Lachine location tonight, and is headed over to us.
I wish everyone the best of luck with everything, I'll let you know when it actually arrives.

No problem, please keep me updated!!

Oh believe me, I know since May 14th indicates there is something amiss and I have no idea what. Perhaps they just singled me out as some sort of quality control where I am given greater scrutiny?
The latest update was on 6/29 in regards to the system downtime (http://travel.state.gov/content/travel/english/news/technological-systems-issue.html) where they stated all systems were back up and running. I myself have received confirmation from the consulate that all non-immigrant visas held in the backlog are now officially clear. It appears as though my visa hold up is for another reason other than the system downtime.
Even if they did, I can't see it taking THAT long to process everything.... that's just an insane amount of time.
They really don't make it easy on people, you're supposed to be able to relax after the interview is complete, not sit and worry for days/weeks/months to receive your paperwork...
I don't quite understand how some people receive their passports next day, and some, like yourself, are still waiting. Nor do I understand why they don't make it easier to track the progress...
Wish I could do more than just cross my fingers for ya

To the best of my knowledge, everyone still actively waiting on this thread had a flawless interview (myself included) and did not require any further documentation to be sent. This is what puzzles myself and others as there has been no logical reason given as to why our applications are taking inordinate amounts of time while others are approved and sent in under a week. I myself have been waiting since my interview on May 14th without so much as a request for further documents or reason from the consulate for the hold up.
Heck, my fiancé took to social media and actually had it confirmed from the consulate in Montreal that the backog of non-immigrant visas is now gone. That can only mean at this point our applications are being held up for other reasons not being shared with us.
Holy s***, since May 14th?? something is definitely not right with that.
I'll definitely try and keep our timeline updated if we hear anything back, my wife tried calling Loomis this morning but they don't show anything under our name.
their website definitely updated on 06/26 saying that they were working on clearing the backlog for both non and immigrant visas, and were anticipating that they will be able to print the majority of them this week, so who knows....

Nope, I had a great interview. Of course this would happen to me, why wouldn't it?...my timeline was too good to be true. Of course I'm gonna wait forever for my visa
I was just about to say, your timeline is really good...that's pretty fast!!
what time was your interview? we had it on the same day! well, I had to stand outside, and wait for the results...
-
Well I'm glad to hear they work on it.
Gotta say I'm worried, my interview was also on the 25th and I'm still in AP...
Yea, no kidding. I would be worried too... did they say they needed additional documents at the interview? I don't think I read through your whole case, and always have trouble remembering who's who unless it's on the page I'm working on directly....
-
Jeez, I thought my case was bad... I'm sorry to hear how long everyone's been waiting for!!!
My wife's interview was on June 25th, it was updated to READY on June 26th and ISSUED on June 29th.
Has anyone received an email from Loomis lately? I wouldn't think they would take this long once it's issued...
Oh, and Danielle and Jake, my status was updated in the afternoon so they do work on it

My wife had her interview on June 25th, and they told me I couldn't go in because of limited space (my wife said it was empty...lol)
Tim Hortons down the street is your best bet, as long as you don't mind rude service...

Thanks again for all the help and advice, our interview was yesterday and they definitely wanted the I-864.
We submitted that, and my wife was approved after a 15 min interview.
Thanks!!!!

Awesome, I sure hope so. It's a lot of work getting to this point, and it's nerve-wracking to have to wait for everything to culminate.
Thanks again, this forum sure helps!

Thanks, I sure do appreciate the insight.
I did fill out the I-864 to bring as well, just in case.
As far as proof of domicile, all I have is a lease agreement, a job offer with salary information, as well as my customs 3299 form showing me leaving Canada on the 4th (when my work permit expires) . I also printed a current bank statement to bring with me as well.
I sure hope that's enough...

Thanks NLR
Is there a reason the NVC wouldn't have said something? And will I have to re-submit an I-864 at the interview?

Hello there,
I've browsed this forum a thousand times, and I'm finally writing my first post....
I'm not quite sure if this question has been asked yet, but I'm a little worried so I thought I would ask for help.
I am a US citizen who was given a 3 year work permit for Canada. During that 3 years, my GF became my wife, my 'kids' didn't refer solely to my dogs, and the company that I was working for (that I had been working for in the US prior) offered me a position back in my hometown of Houston.
We have completed and filed all the necessary paperwork ourselves (with help from the old internet), and have our interview scheduled for next Thursday in Montreal.
Now, I had filed the I-864EZ with the NVC, but noticed on there that in order to qualify for this particular form you had to provide copies of W2. I do not have W2s, as all of my work in the last 3 years was in Canada and thus I had no US income to report.
Will this cause a problem?
I submitted my T4s (Canadian equivalent), as well as my IRS tax transcripts to the NVC (both show $0 US income, but also show what I claimed as my income in Canada). My salary is above the poverty line, and I have a job offer letter that my company wrote me up showing my salary once I get to Houston.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I think it's the only thing you can do, keep your eye on the prize. I know my wife was getting very down at how long and how hard this process is, especially when all you want to do is get your life started.
But it will happen, and it will all be worth it, and one of these days you'll look back and laugh at all that happened.
