  1. Hi, my fiancee got her visa approved. She was told that it will take 8 days for her to receive the passport to her home.

Hey! Sukanya, do you know if we need a transit visa for Air France, Lufthansa. I was told British does not need it.

    Hey Vanamali,

I'm not really sure about that. Why don't you check it with the airlines? Anyways, congratulations on the approval. I'll be lying to the States on the 22nd of December. Which city is your fiancee flying from?

  2. Thank you Sukanya...Fingers crossed for my case. I am not able to go with her as I already went twice in 1 1/4 year.

I sent the affidavit of support, recent tax filing, w2, couple of pay stubs, 3 months bank statements, my income is above the required expectation. Do you think I am good?

Yeah it's more than enough. All they took from me was the Affidavit of Support and W2's. They did ask for 1040 but I didn't have it and it's not a compulsory document to have as W2 is enough for proof of income. It doesn't affect your chances. Good luck with your interview and keep me posted.

  3. Congratulations.. Which consulate you are going in India.

Thanks! I think I'm gonna have the interview at the Mumbai Consulate.

Good to hear that Sukanya, I;ll have my interview on Nov 25 took me along time waiting for police certificate both Thailand and Australia ones.

Now so nervous . After NOA2 im sure things gonna be quick be prepare! :)

Thank you so much! Good luck for your interview. Keep me posted about how it goes! :)

  4. Still no news :(tsc won't let me file an inquiry because there are within "normal processing time". I called the senator's office about 4 times. Just patiently waiting lol.I'm a January 20th filer anyone else in the same boat?

My fiance called up USCIS and requested to speak to a Tier 2 officer. Then he went on bitching about how we cannot file in a service request online and how frustrating it is to wait for 220+ days. The Tier 2 lady officer took pit on him and sympathized with him. She herself was an immigrant and said it took her nearly 2 years to get to the States. So she filed a service request on our behalf. Tier 2 officers can override the system. She gave us a September 11 deadline regarding getting a response for the Service Request. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I'd hear something before that.

There are still people from December 22-30th 2014 waiting for the NOA2 approval. We're just the unlucky ones stuck at the bottom of the pit. But don't worry, you're not alone in this. We'll get through this together and until all of us January filers get approved, we'll be here supporting each other.

  5. I'm a January 20th filer and haven't heard anything back yet, that individual is not the only person who hasn't heard anything back. You are right this is to support each other through this and personally, I am happy for all of those who are approved and I'll be happily posting on here once I hear a response. It's out of all of our control on who gets approved before others, so there's no one to blame.

I agree with you Tekejian. There are still many of us January Filers waiting for our NOA2. I know it's frustrating and USCIS is not fair and transparent about their visa processing system, but it's not right to blame other fellow petitioners or to call them names. I had last seen my fiance in December 2014 and it's been more than 8 months since I've seen him. So people who had the chance of visiting their fiance should have it a bit easier than the rest of us. I would say contact your congressman, Senator or even ask for a Tier 2 officer from the USCIS to file a service request on your behalf and you'll hear something about your case with the next 15 days. I'm expecting a reply about my case by 11th of September.

  6. Hey people,

I see most of my fellow January filers getting approved and I'm here sitting here still waiting for my NOA2! Are there any other cases like me who are still anticipating their NOA2's? It's been 211 days for us today. My fiance has contacted his congressman, let's see how fast he contacts the USCIS and pushes our case forward. I'm still staying strong but sometimes I get utterly frustrated and depressed! My life seems at a stall now. Hope the rest of you are still hanging in there and staying positive. Good luck, hope to hear something soon!

  7. After 189 days we finally received our approval last night July 27, 2015!!! Hallelujah!!!! We are finally leaving the TSC. Please everyone rejoice with me and for those still waiting please hang in there because you are not alone and it will soon happen. Thank you to all the members on Visa Journey for all your input, advice and encouragement!

Omg that's great news! Congratulations! Hope ours will be approved sometime soon. But so happy for you guys!

  8. Wow Albert! Your waiting time is excruciatingly long! I really don't understand the randomness of the TSC approvals. I mean I understand that each case is different and background checks take sometime but it really doesn't make sense when later NOA1 cases, as late as March, are getting approved and filers from October are still in the waiting game. I only wish USCIS was more transparent with it's processing time and approval procedure.

    176 days for me today!

  9. My fiance called up the USCIS yesterday and asked them why filers with NOA2's later than ours are getting approved while so many of the early January filers are still waiting. To this they had a very robotic reply of " Sir we are processing Sept/Oct petitions now, I don't understand how are you getting such statistics?"

Do the USCIS people think that we are a bunch of hunter-gatherers from the Stone Age? Obviously there is something called the "internet" and an amazing site like "Visajourney". We are all well connected and know what goes on at those service centers!

  10. I made my first phone call today to the USCIS. At first I got an automated response then I went back and redialed and got a real person. I knew she would tell me the same thing that others have posted on VJ but I just wanted to hear it for myself. She told me that Texas is currently working on October 8 (not sure this is true) and that I would have to wait for two months to make an inquiry. We are now past five months. California filers are being processed as quick as they come in it seems. Should we continue to wait for another few months or is it too early to contact my congressman?

Omg! Are you serious? So it means it'll take 8 months for us to get our case processed! This is ridiculous and outright wrong. I suggest that we should contact our congressmen once our 180 days are done and submit and e-inquiry.

  11. Hi fellow K1 visa filers!

Did any of you who filed your I129f in the last week of January 2015 get your NOA2 approval? I filed mine on the 19th of January 2015 and I got my NOA1 on 21st of January 2015. I saw some of the filers have already got their NOA2's even though they filed way later than I did. What's with the this discrepancy?
