  1. Ok guys... so this is the end of my journey here. Got naturalized yesterday and now a brand long awaited, well deserved and proud United States Citizen. Whew!!!  I had my interview on June 5th and Went for my oath ceremony on June 21st. I really want to appreciate this house, everyone for inputs, advise, suggestions and help... May God bless you all immensely and for those of you that are still on the journey, trust me, your time will come.

Took me exactly 4 years through the journey from my green card to citizenship based on 3-year rule, and with the ELIS mess that kept us all in limbo. Ok... I'm out.

    Cheers.

  2. Hello guys, So my interview was yesterday June 5th. Got there at 12:30pm since my scheduled time was 1:00pm. So as usual it was airport style security check. So after I went through the check point, I approached a young man who was like the front desk guy, and gave him the letter which he kept and asked me to take a seat until I hear my name. So I was in the waiting area with my wife, and I was just doing some last minute review of the civic questions. At exactly 1:00pm, I heard my name and I walked up to a very nice African-American lady who took me to her office. So she asked me to drop my folder and remain standing, and to raise my right hand and swear. After that I sat down and she requested to see my passport, GC and driver license, which I presented to her. I went along with both the 2-year and 10-year GC. So she started with the reading and writing test, and went straight to the civic test. If I remember correctly, she asked the following questions:

    1. What is the capital of your state

    2. What is the highest law of the land

    3. Who vetos bill

    4. Who signed the declaration of independence

    5. Which countries did America fight in world war 2

    6. Mention 2 rights in the declaration of independence.

I nailed all 6. So she started asking me qestions from the form, my name, address, phone number, jobs, spouses name, previous marriage and other questions on the form.

I was asked about the speeding citation I got, and of course I took a defensive driving course and got it dismissed. So no problems.

She also asked about my trips outside the U.S. I was gone for just 2 weeks, so I was good

So she went ahead to ask me a bunch of yes and No questions from the form and that was all.

Then she asked me to check and ensure my name, address, DOB was all correct, and I signed twice.

She said I passed and congratulated me. She also printed out the result and gave it to me, and said she is recommending me for approval.

It was a nice experience, although I was prepare, but ultimately, God made it happen. I am really blessed.

On my way, I already got a notification that I was approved, and that I have been scheduled for Oath.

Wishing everyone here still in this journey all the best.

Will let y'all know when i get the letter and done with it. Should be in 2 weeks though.

    Cheers

  3. My interview date is June 5th 2017... Kindly update my timeline. I also want to ask for those of us that have already interviewed. What documents do you carry along? I know that the interview letter states some required documents. But I'm just being curious about it. Are the officers book on several documentation or just what they required that we bring along?.... Thanks.

  4. Good Morning guys, and thank you all for all the updates and experience sharing. I have a quick question guys.... I checked online and saw that I have been scheduled for finger printing and i did print out a copy of it. Now I would like to do early walk in, can I use the print out to go get my biometrics captured, or do I have to wait for the physical letter to coime in the mail??... Has anyone hee used the print out?, and will it be accepted at the biometric appointment center?!

    Thanks.

  5. Hi guys, this is Berny. can someone please update my info timeline as follows:

Thanx guys, and congratulations to everyone.

  6. Also quick question guys. I got a speeding ticket, but took the defensive driving test, so it never went on my record. Do need to fill this out in PART 12, NUMBER 23 of the N-400 form?. I am kinda confused a little cos I was not arrested at all. I only got a citation but went for the defensive driving and it never went on my record. Do i still fill yes and explain? or just click no.

I actually read the instruction on how to fill the form, and the documents to attach. They indicated that as long as you did not get arrested as a result of drunk driving, or got someone injured, and the find did not exceed $500 you do not need to bring any document. I need all the advise I can get regarding this issue. Thanks so much guys

  7. Hi guys... Although my ASC biometric appointment was for July 30th, I walked in today to have it done. In and out in about 12 mins. Super fast service. I'm so glad that's done. Quick question though, if u do a walk-in before your appointment date, does it make your processing faster?? What next???. Thanks guys for your invaluable suggestions and advice, it has really been helpful.

  8. Hi guys, We sent our package on Monday June 22nd via express which was delivered next day, the package was however returned on saturday (5 days later) because we put the wrong check amount ($595 instead of $590). Sowe got it fixed and the package was re-mailed on Monday June 29th. However when i check my mail box later that evening, i saw a Notice of Action I-797 for a one year extension (and the letter said they had received the $590). Now let me make this clear that the initial package was returned bcos the amount was wrong. but I was thinking the letter was sent in error.

So going back to when the package was res-sent on Monday (june 29th), it was received next day as it was sent via express. Now on saturday July 4th (4 days later) I got another notice of Action (I-797) for one year extention. THE EXACT SAME LETTER I GOT INITIALLY BUT THIS TIME WITH A DIFFERENT REFERENCE NUMBER. So now I have 2 extention letters (NOA I-797) with 2 different reference numbers, all other information the same. So i called USCIS customer care and the lady i spoke with checked both reference numbers on the system, but they were both giving some error messages. So asked me to wait for a little while that the system would probably update it later but if not, i should call back within 30 days.

I am a little bit confused though cos I dont know if anyone else have experience this before.

Question: should i go with the latter since it was sent after our check was actually cashed???

Suggestions would be highly appreciated please.

NB: I'm thinking I now fall under the July Filters too.

    Thanks.
