  1. Thank you for your response! I already received mine in mid-end july. yeah I heard Texas is slower.

ahh hopefully that RFE didn't take me back to step 1.. i can do case inquiry if it's been 2 months since I heard from them for my 485 right? they recieved my rfe reponse on july 10.

also, I already tried info pass. I drove all the way from Austin that day just to hear that my documents are not even in texas yet. I guess its all still at the National benefit center. :(

Hi! Yes, Texas is definitely slower! I know that Ead/AP time is 90 days and you can submit an inquiry when its been 75+ days. However, with the i485 the wait is 6 months until you can do a case inquiry. I didn´t know anything about my i485 until the last week of July (4 months!), nothing would change on the website and I started to think my case would never move forward. So I completely understand how you´re feeling right now.

I think your best option would be to speak with a Tier2 officer just to make sure they received your RFE response..don´t lose hope and stay positive!

  2. No I sent my docs on 4/28 but still nothing. I don't know if it's because of the RFE I got. My case status doesn't even say they are ready to schedule my interview. A little frustrated. :(

Have you received your EAD/AP already? My case moved faster once I received mine! My documents were sent the last week of March, and I barely had my interview on Tuesday. I did everything through an immigration attorney, and he kept telling me to have patience because cases can take anywhere from 6- 8 months.

If you haven´t received your EAD/AP you can call USCIS to speak with a Tier 2 offficer, but if you already have, then all there is to do right now is wait because your case is still within normal processing time. I know its hard and frustrating but this whole process takes time, and it doesn´t help that our local office is backlogged.

I never got an RFE, but I read on this page that if you do get one, it takes you back to step 1 in the process. Maybe that could be it?

You can always request an info pass to speak to answer all your questions at the local office.

  3. Good Afternoon fellow April filers,

I had my interview today, luckily my attorney´s office is right next to the UCIS building, so we just walked together from there.

We arrived at time, passed through security and sat in the waiting area for about maybe 2 minutes until they called out my name. My attorney had previosuly covered the most important questions they might ask us, so we felt pretty optimistic.

The USCIS officer that interviewed us was very nice and made us feel comfortable with her outgoing personality. She was always smiling, complimented on how organized we had all our documents and took her time to look at all our 60 + printed pictures!

Since my wife and I have been married for 4 years she was more laid back and only asked for our DOB, our full names, home address, where we met, where I worked and that´s pretty much it.

In 10 minutes she had already made the decision to approve my green card and stamped my passport!

I am proud to say that as of today, I am a Legal Permanent Resident.

Now I just have to wait for my actual green card to arrive in the mail.

Wishing everyone the best of luck in this long process, it is very well worth it in the end. :joy:

  4. Good morning everyone. My wife (K-1) / daughter (K-2) had their AOS interview yesterday in the Fresno, CA USCIS branch office and were approved on the spot. :)

We waited around 20 minutes before we were called in for our appointment time and then we were called upon by the IO to their office to begin the interview. We had a very nice lady interviewer and right off the bat she told me that she had gone over our case and appreciated the fact of me submitting (frontloaded) any evidence for my wife/daughters I-485. My wife was then swore in and she only asked her how we met and our current home address. The only other detail that the IO covered was the general questions on the I-485 form in which I interpreted for my wife and she replied promptly to all. She was very appreciative of me being the interpreter and sparked up a brief conversation with our 5 year old daughter in English with an inquiry of what was her favorite activity in school (Kindergarten). My daughter responded "coloring" and she mentioned that it was also her granddaughters favorite school activity. The interview was more like a friendly conversation amongst a couple people and my wife/daughter felt very comfortable. Lastly, she congratulated us on approval and said that they should receive their Green cards within 2 weeks while going over the details for removing conditions in 2 years. She also stated when my wife can apply for her US citizenship while daughter being eligible to derive citizenship by law since she will still be under 18. We took our original copies of marriage, birth certificates (with translation), and passports but she was only interested in viewing the details on my wife/daughters passport and my US birth certificate.

Anyhow, this concludes our AOS journey for a while until ROC God willing. I have gone ahead and scheduled my wife's appointment for her DMV written exam for late September while it's back to Kindergarten for my daughter after missing school yesterday.

Best of luck to all the fellow April AOS filers! :)

That´s awesome to hear! Congratulations to you and your family on the approval. My interview is next week and my wife and I already went to our attorney´s office this week for the interview prep. Hopefully, it will go as smoothly as yours. This process has been quite a rollercoaster and I cant wait for it to be over. hehe

  5. Hi everyone,

USCIS thought it would be a fun and awesome alarm clock today and started sending notifications at 6 am. My wife and I both signed up for notifications so both of our phones were beeping.

Needless to say, it was excellent news and we're not complaining!

My interview is scheduled and I couldn't feel more relieved ! All I want is this whole thing to be done and over with.

    Wishing everyone else the best.

  6. I just received an update about my combo card and it says it's been mailed to me! Yay! Finally!!! ?????? thanks God.

Same here! :dancing: Received an email and a text message. It seems like they are getting their act together. All I can say is that it feels so good to finally be on this point after feeling somewhat neglected by USCIS. I wonder if my wife calling numerous times showing signs of stress and desesperation on her voice had anything to do with this. hahaha

  7. To everyone who find themselves desperate on day 70+ , know that I'm on day 93 and still have not received anything. My attorney told me on day 90 (Monday) that this is normal time wait. My wife called USCIS on Monday and spoke to a Tier2 officer, no updates and she told me the officer was rather rude and condescending.

But yesterday she called again to speak to a Tier2 officer and finally was told good news, my EAD was approved on the 6th , on day 90.

I read that most of the users in this forum are receiving their EAD before the 90 days, but remember the average time is 90.

    Good luck to everyone !

  8. Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this forum, I am also an April filer and am currently waiting for my EAD/AP.

I have not received any letters and uscis website seems to be stuck on "case was received".

My service center is National Benefit Center = MSC

I already submitted an inquiry on June 22nd and almost immediately received an email where they stated my case was assigend to an officer and that I would have a reply by July 13th.

The status of my I765 (EAD) changed to:

    • sign_icon.png On June 23, 2015, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, was completed.
    • sign_icon.png On June 23, 2015, we sent a response to your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application.
    • sign_icon.png On June 22, 2015, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, was assigned to an officer for response.

Hopefully I will finally receive something this coming week.
