I am British, my husband is American. We are currently living in Taiwan awaiting case approval and subsequent interview date. Time is becoming more of an issue because work contracts/Taiwan residency visas/apartment lease are all due to expire in next couple of months.
We are anticipating an email from NVC before the end of this month (based on last contact from NVC), but now we're feeling really stressed about it, and I wondering whether to just start phoning. Would this be a waste of time? I feel like I need to do something because staring at forums and case status: AT NVC, is driving me insane!
Shall we just start calling for case approval?

Thank you. We have been calling and simply getting apologies, and asked to wait more time. (The 30 day period ended days ago). I guess we just have to keep trying to get a verbal answer. The frustrating thing is that we know that the file is probably ready to go (I was told last week, there were no outstanding issues), it's just a matter of someone signing it off and forwarding it to the embassy where we live.
