Update
I had interview on 06/01 which did not go well.
She asked all the standard question from I-485 form. and asked when did I leave US last time, when did I arrived last time, under which status. asked to see my H1-B approval notice.
Then, She accused me of being out-of-status(in other words illegal presence in US) for a time between start of my H1-B status and end of my OPT. When argued, she boasted of having more knowledge of laws.(which obviously was wrong because she clearly didn't know about automatic extension of F-1 status when one is approved for H1-B). Then she didn't ask any question about our marrige, she didn't ask for any documents, any pictures. She just asked us to leave. Didn't ask anything to my wife who is petitioning for me. She handed us standard "120 days" waiting letter.
but to my surprise, our case was approved on 06/03. However, since then case status has not changed to "Card in Production". So I don't know how long it will take before my card arrives. I have heard people's status change within a day from "case approved" to "card in production".
Please advice on what should I do?
P.S. I was F-1 student as well and my AOS interview was at Newark, NJ

Status updated. Case approved!!!
Now, I just hope they don't lose the card in transit.
Thanks for all the replies and encouragement guys.
I did everything myself and would definitely try to help people in the VJ community.
Hey
Could you please update on how long it took for you to get "card in hand" after your case was approved?

We had the interview at Mount Laurel NJ today. Since we had already sent a lot of evidence from the 3 years of our relationship, our officer was pretty convinced from the start; so the interview was very smooth and did not even feel like an interview! We were only asked for the new medical form (it was expired).
We got the approval on spot and I got the application notification for "new card being produced" on the way back.
Congratulations!
Can you please share a list of documents you prepared for Interview? My Interview is scheduled on 06/01
How do I know if my Medical form is expired? How do I get it renewed? Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of my medical form that I sent them because it was sealed in envelope by doctor.
Please advice.
Thanks

Finally, received Interview appointment letter yesterday. Interview scheduled on June 1st 2016 at Newark NJ. But online case status is not yet changed to interview scheduled. Anyway I don't care about online status coz I have appointment letter in my hand

Hi. You can find them here on USCIS website:
Each fiscal report is sorted based on USCIS offices; you can see how many applications are received at every office, how many are still pending, etc.
Oh!! Newark has more than 11,000 pending AOS appliction that is pretty big number . I can see here (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do) that Newark is most lagging behind in processing time, even behind New york city which has more than 17,000 apps pending

Today I received two letters i130 and i485 notice of approval and my green card online status changed to "card mailed" I am so happy!!!!!
Congrats!

We finally got an interview date scheduled for late May!
Congrats! When did you file for AOS? and where is your interview?
I filed for my AOS on 2nd of OCT and my center is Newark, NJ but I have not yet got the interview date.
-
Thanks, My Priority date is August 18.2014. Good luck to you.
Thanks. The interview is scheduled for April 20. Did you get an interview date as well?
Hang in there! The more I read on the forums, there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason why some cases move faster while others dont. Luck plays a huge part. Good luck to you.
No I haven't yet received interview date. My case status says 'It is ready to schedule interview' but since my local office(Newark, NJ) is lagging behind, I guess it will take 2-3 more months for me to get interview date.

I have a confusing notification from USCIS yesterday, it says they denied my I-751 but I already have my GC and SS# , I still don't know the reason why it was denied but I assumed that it is now irrelevant as I already got my GC right?, your comment , confirmation on my assumption will be highly appreciated.
Congrats to all approvals !!!
I-751 form is used "For a conditional resident who obtained status through marriage to apply to remove the conditions on his or her residence."
So You should be filing this form after you get conditional GC. I think you should not have filed it with your AOS application and that is why it got denied. Let me know if I misunderstood you.

Had an update on my AOS case status this morning. It went from "Fingerprint Fee Received" to " Interview is Scheduled"
I filed under F2A, on October 08 2015. Changing status from H1B. Good Luck to everyone who are still waiting to have their cases approved by USCIS
Congrats Krisdisc!! Did you get the date of your interview?

Hello guys...finally something changed in my status after 5 looooong months.
Now my status says
Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview
As of March 3, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Hang in there! My wife filed her AOS in Sept 2015 and her cases hasn't been updated. Our lawyer did update us that it's sitting at our local field office for processing. Our local field office is about 8-9 months behind with I-485. So we expect to be waiting for a long time.
I just wanted to say I'm also from NJ and your wait time is normal for NJ. Those October filers who have already got their GC approved are not from NJ/NYC which unfortunately have the longest wait times. I haven't received the "case is ready for interview" status either even though I'm married to USC. In fact, my case has not been updated since October at all, except for the AP document that I received.
Thanks guys..its good to hear that I am not alone.
Good luck to all of us.

I am in the same category. My prediction is that our interview will be scheduled sometime during May to mid-year. My PD is 12/31/2014. Check out my timeline. I have my EAD so I'm not stressing about the GC. If I continue to behave like I did when I was awaiting my EAD, I'll wound up hospitalized for mental issues. Relax, it does us no good. ?
Thanks Chejemmie
Yeah I think you are right I should wait and relax but looking at all the OCT filers getting their GCs so early, I can't stop my self checking status of my case everyday
I am guessing our case is delayed because we are married to LPR and not USC, and that might have added some extra checks in our application process. However I think 5 months is too long. I should have at least got status "case is ready for interview" because I know even after my case gets ready for interview my local office, Newark NJ, will take 3-4 months to schedule GC interview.
I finally have my interview!.march 24!!yey
Congrats!

Hi rprp123, I'm adjusting status from H1B under F2A category. Priority Date 08/2014. Filed for AOS 10/08/2016. My status also says Fingerprint Fee is accepted. I understand your frustration. Hopefully, our cases get approved soon. Good luck to you!
Thanks for sharing Krisdisc
Looks like we will have interview around similar timeline. Keep us posted with your status updates.
-
Spielerin and Rprp123 Has any one of you actually called them up? It's bit worrying because I do not want to spend money on medical
No I haven't yet called them. I think I will wait for 2-3 more weeks and call them if nothing changes.

Hi everyone,
I hope you're all well.
Just a quick question, am I the only one in the Oct thread who has filed my paperwork early Oct but there is still no sign of green card, interview or even a status update. My status is still stuck on "Fingerprint Fee Was Received". I did receive my EAD and AP but I am worried as my medical is about to expire in April.
Shall I call them up?
Thank you
Ahh me 2!! My status hasnt even updated it..
Hi Yanirose,
I filed on Oct-6 and my status is also stuck to "Fingerprint Fee Was Received"
-
OMG I would be crazy if I have to wait for 2 years for a gc....
you can see my timeline.... I had a F1 VISA and I got married.
Thanks for reply.
I see your case is 'ready for interview'. good for you. I filed on 10/6 and my case is still not ready.
Don't know if I should call them up to know whats going on.
-
There are many AOS files on this forum who arrived with K1 visa.
Anyone who is Adjusting status from H1B or F1 visa under F2A category? If so, please reply with your timeline. I want to know if anyone got the interview date?
I am on H1B and filed AOS(I-485) application under F2A on OCT-06-2015.
My priority date is 05/20/2014, that is when I filed my I-130. So I have been waiting for almost 2 years but my status still says "On October 6, 2015, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485".
needless to say its very frustrating
you can see my timeline in my signature.

Just received an update that our case status for I-485 to New Card is being Produced. So does that mean it is approved?
Are you sure this update is for I-485? It could be status update for I-765.
Anyway congratulation!

Just checked my phone app and AP shows "approved" and EAD card is being produced!!! Also received emails but no texts....??
Now just need these to arrive before Dec 23 so we can still travel.... fingers crossed.
Good luck everybody!!
FYI - I corresponded with my congressman a few weeks ago who also reached out on my behalf. not sure if this made any difference in the slightest as I am pretty much on par with schedule but just thought I'd share that.
Congrats for your approval!! I am still waiting for my I-765 to approve. I filed it on 10/02 but still no movement
-
I have a feeling some early October filers will hear something about EAD / AP week!
Fingers crossed a few of us get approvals
Good luck
Yeah as per Current Processing times as of Today
Processing date for I-765 --> 29-SEP
Processing date for I-131 --> 01-OCT
So we should hear something in this week.
good luck everyone

We haven't heard anything either ... Biometrics on Oct 29. Status updated Nov 4 to "ready for interview" but no paper/texts or notices. I get freaked out hearing all these stories about people who didn't receive any notices and then next thing they hear they failed to respond to an RFE they didn't get or appear for an interview they didn't know was scheduled and their app gets denied !!! I think it's well worth calling every few days to check. And if your interview was cancelled... from what I've read, not to scare anyone, but it's worth showing up anyway bc the sh!t people have had to go through afterword, even if it works out in the end, so not worth it!!! Fingers kept crossed for all my fellow sept/oct filers!
I had my biometrics on the 9th of November and haven't heard anything since. I know it's still within the normal timeline but some kind of update would be nice. I've been in the states since the start of August and its getting really depressing sitting around all day not being able to work, not being able to do any thing fun either because I'm not making any money. Husband is stressed because he has to do so much overtime. Really hoping EAD is approved in the next few weeks..then hopefully i can find a job straight away
Me too... had my biometrics on the 29th of OCT and haven't heard anything since. It still says "
Fingerprint Fee Was Received"

rprp123 please to let us know if you were successful in getting a walk-in at Elisabeth center. I have FP appointment coming up at the same location and I plan to go in for an early walk in. Thanks
I tried to walk-in on wednesday and there wasn't much pople but still they didn't allow me. Don't go there early. its waste of time.

in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Hi steeem,
I hope you don't get that officer for interview. She was hispanic lady in her mid 40s. She didn't give a single smile durince interview, not even while greeting.
If you do get her, I would highly recommend you to get the print-out of this page from USCIS website and highlight the following sentences under sub-title
"Eligibility for an Extension""Once a timely filing requesting a change of status to H-1B on October 1 has been made, the automatic Cap-Gap extension will begin and will continue until the H-1B petition adjudication process has been completed. If the student’s H-1B petition is selected and approved, the student’s extension of status will continue through September 30"
I think some officers are clearly unaware of this rule and when you try to explain them, they don't seem to like it. If I had this page with me, I would have just shown her the printout.
Btw, I just received the I-485 approval notice in my mail, which proves I was absolutely correct but she didn't let me explain her the rules, instead she cut me out in between and boasted of her knowledge of laws.
Good luck for interview!!
