Hey guys
I am a student from India under a F1 visa as a student in the US. I am 18 years old and have travelled to Schengen zone before 4 times on family and school trips (most recently in 2012)- no history of visa overstay or rejection from an country before. I want to travel once again to Europe alone- not on a college trip, but solo independent travel.
I will be supported/financed by parents in India- my father has works and can provide all bank statements, ITRs and salary slips as necessary. Other documents should be no problem- letter from college etc.
I will most lilely apply at the French consulate at Miami.
I don't know what the success rate etc is in the US for Schengen visas- as a student, what is my likelihood? I am currently a freshman and have a good scholarship- will definitely come back to college to continue studies and have family support in India- so no reason to overstay or such.
I don't have any assets or such of my own.
Suggestions or trips- what extra documents etc?
Thanks
Ansh

I am confused. The article says:
"This means that people who submitted online applications for passports and visas on or after June 9 will likely experience delays in processing, it said."
While my interview was on June 12, I submitted my DS 160 in early May. The consular officer said I should get the visa in 2-3 business days. Any thoughts? Am affected?

Hi
I had my interview for F1 study visa on June 12 2015 at Chennai, India. The application was approved and the consular officer retained the passport. I'm checking my status on CEAC and it shows 'No Status'. Should I get worried? What is the reason behind this?
Thanks

I know- I have seen queries related to other visas being applied for from the US- do you think there is another suitable branch?
Thanks
