  1. My wife and I wanted to travel to Canada for the holidays visit family. We are currently in the AOS of status phase awaiting approval or interview. she has been approved for EAD / AP. We verified numerously with USCIS if we would have any trouble flying to Canada or anywhere else out of the country should we decide to and the answer was of course " No Problem" , as long she is approved for AP.

So now, I've recently came across The ETA or (Electronic Travel Authorization) on the Canadian airline website. here's a copy of the rule >>>

The Government of Canada has introduced a new entry requirement, known as an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), that applies to visa-exempt foreign nationals* travelling to or transiting Canada by air.

Effective March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an eTA before they can board a flight to Canada. Until September 29, 2016, travellers who do not have an eTA can board their flight, as long as they have appropriate travel documents, such as a valid passport. To complete your application for an eTAOpens in New Window

, you will need your passport, a credit card and an email address. An eTA costs $7 CAD and is valid for up to five years.

Has anyone been affected by this new rule and can we still travel to Canada with an Advance parole while awaiting AOS approval..??

  2. Good Evening.. My question may be little redundant but I would like to be sure and be on the safe side. Here it goes....

    1) My wife has been approved for EAD / AP and awaiting approval for AOS. Is it possible to travel to Canada with his New "ETA" Program and set to be enforce starting November 10th, 2016.

Note** I have tried to apply for this "ETA" and one of the question ask If the wife is a lawful permanent resident or if she holds a Green Card. Not really sure how to answer this Question.

  3. Thanks to all members alike that replied on this matter. After 2 days of relentless pursuit, I was able to make contact with "the Gods" aka NVC. It ended costing me $60 since I had to take a 3 hour sick leave off work and couple more gray hairs. All well deserve thanks to the untouchable God's..... Freakin insanity I tell you! Our tax dollars @ work.

  4. Hey, I've been trying since August 1 to reach anyone at the National Visa Center but all I get is an automated answering with the following message " Due to high call volumes, all our blah, blah, blah"...you get the rest. And the straight hangs up. No options given. NOTHING!

Anyone else experiencing the same problem and any other options of how to get in touch with these people to get a case status.
