  1. It gets better. Two days after I mailed my documents to the consulate, an e-mail arrives from CGI (or traveldocs):

"XXX has been approved to schedule a K Visas K-1 visa. Please log back into your account at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com to continue scheduling."

Remember, the consulate said I should not schedule the interview before they say so, and not even schedule a medical before they say so. Only after they have the results of my medical I would be instructed to schedule an interview.

Of course, I have no medical and therefore they have no results, so I should not be able to schedule an interview.

But, WHY then are they now telling me to schedule the interview? Is this not the consulate talking to me? Should I wait for a mail/letter by the consulate, or will that never arrive?

    This is contradictory!

    Hey D.Ba,

I'm curious. How did the story ever end?

I'm in the same position right now. Got the same email after filling out the online application form via CGI Stanley. I went ahead and clicked on "request to schedule an appointment" and they said I'm gonna get an email from the consulate as soon as that request is approved...

No email yet but I also haven't had my medical yet either... (but in 4 days)

Sent out package 3 one week ago.

I'm also gonna have the medical in Hamburg. How long did it take the physician to forward your results to Frankfurt?

So ready to be done with all this. Just left my loved one behind...again. Hoping I can go back for good in a few weeks from now. This visa process has been taking almost 1 year now.

  2. I have not officially received notice yet, but checked my status on USCIS website, and it now has posted that my case has been suspended. No one can tell me why.. I just have to wait for the actual notice to come in. I am in tears... this is the worst ever. I cant believe they think it's okay to "suspend" peoples lives like this... this is real life... real emotions, real feelings... I waiting over 7 months to be told they need more info... and then will not even tell me what is needed... and oh, the notice can take up to two weeks to be received.. and if not, request another by mail... How can you possibly make any wedding plans like this!!!!????????? Does anybody from USCIS see the seriousness in this???? :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

We recently got a RFE, too and it took exactly 7 days for the notice to arrive.

In our case they wanted more evidence for the 2-year-meeting-requirement. They mostly asked for the same things we had already filed with the petition but also some other things like written statements from friends/family. That was about one week ago. We're still gathering all the stuff and waiting for people to write the statements...you cannot force anyone to work faster it seems - neither USCIS clerks nor friends, haha.

And yeah, we also had to postpone our wedding... when we filed the petition September still seemed so far away and now..ha!

Whatever, we're trying to see it positively - at least it's not gonna be that hot on our wedding day ;-)

  3. Hey y'all, I'm new here but I've been following the forums for quite a while.

    I'm slighly getting crazy!

Reading through this forum and seeing that some people get their K1 super fast makes me nervous that we made sth wrong or...I don't know.

We got the NOA1 on Nov 26th 2014 and nothing has happened since then. I keep on checking My Case Status on the USCIS site daily. ####### are they doing there?

We've planned our wedding for September 12th but I'm afraid we won't make it on time...

Has anyone ever called the Service Center to ask what's going on? I read that after 5 months you can...

    Short history of ours:

    - Nathan & I met during his exchange year here in Germany in 1998... he was 18, I was 16

    - instantly fell in love but after he had to go back we split up - we were way to young to keep up a long distance relationship like that

    - we kept contact over the years - as good friends - knowing we would always have a place in our hearts for eachother but life had to go on...

    - we met again in 2008 and ZOOM fell in love again - it was inevitable. unfortunately we both had been with other partners at that moment...I was actually married...difficult situation

    - took me 5 more years to finally find the guts & break free

    - booked a flight and stayed with Nathan for a whole month (longest my former employer would ever let me) in October 2013... and again instantly knew that it was right - he's the love of my life and that's my home!

    - late summer 2014 quit my job to spend as much time with him as possible - 90 days there, 90 days here

    - got divorced in October 2014 and we could file the petition for the K-1 visa after I got the decree

    - now I'm back in Germany since May 22. again and all that waiting makes me crazy. I just wanna go back home
