  1. Hello everyone.  I will really appreciate your help with this.  I am asking for a friend, this is his story.  So he can't find his lawyer for a long time now, he just thought there were no updates.  He decided to figure out how to check for updates himself online.  So he checked and his last update is on January 31 of 2013!  Last update is that his visa has been printed and will be sent to the DHL of his choice.

He doesn't know what step to take next.  He says he's been calling the USCIS but he doesn't speak english, so he can only go so far.  He asks me if I think he needs a lawyer, but I'm not sure on that.  He applied for immigration through his dad, so I assume it was with an i-130.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

  2. That date indicates they are currently taking 8-months to process waivers. Next month of the date moves up one month then it will still be an average of 8-months. If it jumps up two months then the average wait time improved to 7-months. Based on the calculation of the date you can get the average time. If you fall outside that time, you can file a formal inquiry online to check where your case is at in the process.

Thanks for the info! Besto of luck to you!

  3. Hi amandayc our received day is dec 18,2015 my husband called yesterday and was told it would be another 5 months. He is so depressed and dont know what to do any more.

:( Oh wow, another 5 months IS a long time! Yes, this is so frustrating and depressing!

Thanks for your reply and best of luck to you!

Hi amandayc, my receipt date is October 5th, 2015 but it seems nebraska SC has been stock on processing Aug. 16th, 2015 for months now so there is no way for us to know when we will get some sort of answer.

:( Ok, thanks for your reply. Best of luck to you !

  4. When I called (I am the applicant) I was told that there is no time-frame for I-601, that they process by date. Since processing time website page says "august 16, 2015" I still have a long time to go so cannot send inquiry. Agents are very quick on telling you they cannot do anything for you, very few try to help you more if possible.

I don't know what else to do, we are desperate for an answer for the approval. USCIS should put a time-frame to process this form.

Hello happyfaces. Mine is also an I-601. My receipt date is December 15, 2015. What is yours?...Since you say you have a long way to go, I was just wondering.

    Thanks.

  5. Good afternoon. So my husband had his I 130 interview in Ciudad Juarez on September 22nd, 2015. He was denied and given a blue sheet that said he had to do a I 601. We did the I 601 with a lawyer. USCIS sent us the notice of receipt on December 16, 2015. The Nebraska Service Center is handling our case.

If anyone has been through this... can I have any advice? How long the process takes? What should I expect? Will the next interview be in Ciudad Juarez as well? I will really appreciate any help!

  6. Thank you all for your help.

Jawaree.and Transborderwife.. yes I used to live in Mexico with him before. Honestly, we want our son's school education to be here in the US for many reasons, hopefully a lawyer can find the right words for us. For one, I understand school system here in the US... I would be able to help him out here with homework...etc.

Another thing is we have been married by Church since July 2008. We didn't get married legally until 2013, because we thought we had to get married here in the US for it to count. Until we found out it's as good as getting married here. Do you guys think this will help?...I have all kinds of evidence.

And then we filed the I-130 until we had money for it in September 2013.

  7. My husband tried to cross to the US back in 1998 with a different visa, since he had lost his like two years before that. At the interview he was asked and he told them the truth. He told them back then he was immature and had no idea that one day he would marry someone from the US and have a baby born in the US.

Interviewer asked himif he used a different name that time he tried crossing, he said yes. Interviewer told him she had bad news and good news for him...... Bad news was of course the blue sheet... And good news is that all he needs to do is that I 601.
