  1. Yes, this is what is says. It just does not say not to add them to Part 5 if they're not applying with you. This is what is so confusing because Part 5 says to add all your children. Am I ok leaving them off then?

    Instructions on I-751:

If you have dependent children who acquired conditional resident status on the same day as you or within 90 days thereafter, then include the names and Alien Registration Numbers (A-Numbers) of these children in Part 5. of Form I-751 in order to request that the conditions on their status be removed as well. If you have dependent children who did not acquire conditional resident status on the same day as you or within 90 days thereafter, or if the conditional resident parent is deceased, then those dependent children must each file Form I-751 separately to have the conditions on their status removed.

  2. Thanks. One more question on my son's conditional permanent resident card.

My wife got her conditional permanent resident card on July 22, 2014.

I petition her son (my step son) and he got his permanent resident card on Nov 10, 2015, and because his mom still had a condition on her card, they added it to his.

My question, do I have to wait 90 days before Nov 10, 2017 to remove his condition or can I do it on a separate I-751 now? My thought, if she no longer has it on her, why should his?

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

We're about to submit the I-751 to remove my wife's condition from her Permanent Resident Card. On part 5 of the application it instructs to add all your children.

My question, since none of our children will be on the form to remove their conditions from their Permanent Resident card, do I still need to add them?

One child (18) got his Permanent Resident with condition over a year after my wife got hers, so I know he's has to go separately. The other child (23) still lives in the Philippines and does not have a Permanent Resident card.

    Thanks,

    laz

  4. My step son had his interview at the Philippines US Embassy yesterday and was approved (yippy!!). Anyway, what's next? I found this on the USCIS. I did now know about this. Is this in addition to all the fees we've paid already. Do we have to pay it before his VISA is issues?

USCIS Immigrant Fee - You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you receive your immigrant visa and before you travel to the United States. Only children who enter the United States under the Orphan or Hague adoption programs, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas are exempt from this fee. Select USCIS Immigrant Fee on the USCIS website for more information. Important Notice: USCIS will not issue a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551 or Green Card) until you have paid the fee.

  5. Hi,

My 18 year old step son in Manila finally got his interview date for Sept 29th for his US Immigrant VISA. I'm trying to find out what kind of questions they're going to ask him to prepare him but all I'm finding are K-1 or Spouse questions. Does anybody have a list of what kind of questions he should be prepared for? Anything else she should be prepared for?

    Thanks,

    Laz

  6. I just got my appointment letter yesterday too but for a September 29th at 6:15am date. Wait, wait, wait a minute! My case completed before yours (July 22nd) but my appointment is 5 days after yours? No fair!!!. Just kidding. :joy:

  7. Starting May 1st, 2010, all foreigners, regardless of their nationality, visiting Mexico as tourists, transmigrate or for business matters will not need a visa for Mexico as long as they hold a valid US visa and arrive in Mexico from the United States.

Mexico tourist visa is required for citizens of Philippines. Mmmm, sounds to me they are talking out of both sides of their mouth OR is it saying that if you are a citizen of the Philippines you cannot enter Mexico FROM the Philippines without a Mexico tourist visa BUT if you are coming from the US and have a US visa in your passport you are allowed into Mexico if you travel across the US boarder with Mexico?

Greenbaum. All my wife needed was her H1B US Visa and her Filipino passport. No issues whatsoever entering Mexico or the United States.

You're right. If the flight come in from United States into Mexico they don't need a Mexican Tourist Visa (just any US Visa). However, If they're flying in from the Philippines, they do.

  8. Hi,

This is for my step-son in the Philippines (I'm the petitioner). So I got the letter below from the NVC on July 22nd. To this day I have not received an interview notification. My question is, how long does it take to receive the notification for the interview date? What's the average? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks!

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

  9. If she has any kind of US Visa she can enter Mexico without getting a Mexican tourist Visa as long as she's arriving from the United States. Last year my wife and I traveled to Mexico with her US Working Visa (I think that's what you call it) and we did not have a problems entering Mexico or coming back to the United States.
