I have made one service request in november and one in december. No one ever got back to me on either of them. I am not allowed to make a new one until 20th January.

Closest office is 3,5h drive away so it isnt possible for me to do that....

About service requests: unfortunately, some requests they review but never reply, that's what happened to me. They told me to wait up to 30 days. In 32 days I called and was told that somebody reviewed the request but "had no chance to reply". Ok, we submitted another one. Same thing. So after total 2 months waiting I asked them to make a mark that this is my third request. Finally, 2 more weeks and I got a response that they are still processing.

I heard that EAD is handled by the NBC, I don't know what to believe now.

Each email that they send you after you submit EAD/AP application starts with "Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing". I would believe that)

This is why it is so important to not make any travel plans (booking flights, hotels etc) for outside the country before you have your travel documents in hand. Nothing you can do other than wait.

The OP stated he had made travels plans for the holidays...

    Lol I know you shouldn't

No, you won't be able to re enter. Wait until you have the EAD/AP combo card.
You can expedite the EAD with a job offer.

Thank you! I don't have a job offer)) I don't really need expedite EAD, I need AP ASAP.

The thing is, I don't have an emergency from their emergency list for an expedite AP. So trying to explore another options instead of just waiting waiting waiting. Do you know what is this  'I am outside the U.S. and am applying for AP' option for?

You have a valid concern though.  It's not like you filed 3 weeks ago.

Call your local office.  They have your application by now.

How can he call his local office if they 'never have their own phone number'? Also, do they really work on AP in the local office? I was sure it goes to National Benefits Center. At least, EAD does, that's what they told me in my local office, that they don't do it there.

I have kind of the same situation, need to travel ASAP but can't really apply for emergency AP. Wish you a good luck with receiving yours.

  6. Hello everyone! I had my GC interview in Saint Paul, MN 6 months ago, and they still can't make their final decision... During the interview the officer never explained my rights that I actually can apply for my EAD/AP again even though my interview already happened. We kind of gave him a hint that my old documents are about to expire, he just told us to wait for the GC decision for 4-6 weeks. Once again, it's been 6 months, I found out on phone with USCIS that I can renew my EAD/AP, but they are taking their time on approving that too. And i need to travel home ASAP, but can't apply for emergency AP since, thank God, this is not a bad kind of emergency. So I opened i-131 form and found the 'I am outside the U.S. and am applying for AP' option. Is there any chance this might work if I travel abroad? Because this is getting redicilous with their time frames..

Thank both of you for such a quick reply!!) I thought about it, that last time I wasn't fiance anymore and I probably should put the same information. But the difference between my two applications is that first time I entered the US with K-1 visa, and second one - with my Parole. So I thought what if I should type something different.

And just making sure, my cover letter is gonna contain these papers, is that correct?

Form I-765 Application for Employment Document Renewal includes:

    ·         G-1145 Form (E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance)

    ·         2 passport type photos

    ·         Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485

    ·         Copy of Passport identity page

    ·         Copy of Passport page with K-1 visa

    ·         Copy of Marriage Certificate

    ·         Copy of Electronic Form I-94 (the most recent entry)

    ·         Copy of previous EAD card (front and back)

  8. Hello everyone! So I entered the US with K-1 visa, got married, applied for GC/EAD/Ap, etc. Now my EAD is expired and my GC has not arrived yet.

The question is, the I-765 form is asking me for my status, which previously I put as a K-1. Who I am now if i'm not a fiance anymore?

Tried to call USCIS, they never can help with such questions, saying that this is for my protection..

    I-765 is asking for

-my status when I last entered the US (I flew in with my AP as a wife already)

    -my current status

    Can somebody help me please?

  9. Hello VJ's. my problem is that, I'm filling out my g325a but only have 4 years work experience whereas it asks for 5 years.. what do I do please? do I just list the 4 years experience I have? is it not going to cause any problems? lastly, my fiancée signed her g325 with a black pen and I want to sign with a blue...is that going to raise concerns? please help

it says in the instructions-sign with BLACK pen.

    about work experience.

    you may do this:

    1 year - occupation="unemployed"

name and address of organization=n/a or none

  10. of course i would tell truth . just was worrying what the airline would think

anyways, found cheaper ticket with no fee for second bag - so flying with Aeroflot lol

in Lufthansa it would be 100 euros for second bag

sorry guys for disturbing with this question! but maybe this topic will help someone else

  11. The reason that we suggest the return ticket is cancelled once you land in the US is because if you don't cancel it- sometimes it will show that you've used the ticket even though you didn't... which means you left the US without Advanced Parole. It has happened to people on here, I'm sure... you can probably search for it.

To prevent that from happening and putting a glitch in your immigration journey, just cancel the return flight after you arrive.

    oh wow, it makes sense!

i'm just not sure how to cancel it on economy class. it says no cancelation when i open for the ticket

but there is a pag on their website-cancel and refund. maybe it will work (no refund but at least to let them know i'm not flying back)

  12. I'd recommend to use price aggregators like anywayanyday or onetwotrip instead of official airlines site. Partners like 3rd party sites usually getting best deals

Also in most airlines there's no mention of return ticket on your ticket there

using the same e-ticket number you will check-in when it's possible to confirm your return flight which you can cancel anytime probably with no refund in econom class

i tried all of them , also aviasales but they all show flights through NYC with short layovers or 17 hr layovers which i'm not doing.

and there is no way to cancel economy ticket on luftgansa

what will happen if i don't cancel it? what if i'm just "missed my plane or overslept"? it happens to people

  13. Hello everyone!

I'm looking for the ticket now, K1 visa, and would like to have layover in Europe instead of US because in that case i won't have to worry about how long immigration officer will take and how many hours i should leave for the layover to not be late for the next plane to final destination (most of the flights have layover in NYC and airport there might be busy)

I found really good deal on Luftgansa website. But

    - if there is one way ticket, it shows me price around 4000 usd

    - if there is return ticket - it is about 500 usd for both !!

So i decided to book return ticket and just not show up for the flight back (use only first ticket from Russia to US)

But i'm afraid that in the airport they will ask me question - why I have return ticket if my visa is K1 which means I'm gonna get married in US. Is there anyone who had return tickets flying with K1? or who can tell me if it will be problem or not?

just this ticket is the best i found but i'm not paying 4k for one way!!
