Thanks...was hoping i can do it on my own...my nephew was like an abandoned child so we are in process of adopting him through the legal agency in the Philippines we call it Department of Social Welfare and Development, his mom left him when he was 1 yr old and since then my mom ( who died before my nephew's 2nd birthday) and I took care of him, he lives with me till I left and promised to bring him over here. he is currently living with my aunt and I am supporting him I am hoping to bring him over without spending much if I can do the paperworks on my own after the legal proceedings in the Philippines, my brother is alcoholic and is willing to give sign all the necessary documents and willing to cooperate so that's not a problem at all...

I am still on a permanent resident and waiting for my time to process my US citizenship and I am also on process adopting my nephew age 14 from the Philippines, me and my Husband(the US citizen) is adopting him together hoping to give him a better future. Our lawyer is already on process(court hearings and legal proceedings ongoing right now). My question is say after we are granted and successfully adopted him how are we going to process the visa for him? I am wondering if I have to go over the same process reading about this Hague adoption and all that...can I just file Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, on his behalf as the adopted child of a United States Citizen (my husband) and do I have to have a separate form since right now I'm only a PR I understand I can file for my naturalization at least 90 days before my green card expired which is somewhere on Aug. Does anyone of u guys have adopted from the Philippines or have a similar experience pls help...thanks in advance.

Hey Jessica, I just checked its actually the same number might as well post it so if someone else have the same question will read it, the A# asked is the same as the MSC# in the green card

thanks I am aware of the A number from the K1 files I got it has that but not sure if I have to write that or the USCIS# instead as indicated in my greencard

One other item that you may need for international travel if the name on your passport is different than the name on your Conditional Green Card, is to consider bringing a copy of your Marriage Certificate.

Yes im holding the conditional 2 yr green card with the combo ead/ap card...2 agents give me 2 different advise via us is so im just confused reading on the reply frim u guys if i get it correctly since i have the conditional green card i dont even have to renew the combo card anymore right? Coz im working here in Texas too so i dont have to renew it anymore... Yes we are going to Triumph too my in laws love to on cruise every year and this is our first time travelling with them and they are the one who booked the trip and said we're gonna enjoy it. I don't understand. Your timeline says you received your green card on November 23, 2015. Is this accurate? If so, you don't need EAD/AP anymore because everything is based on your GC.

BTW, are you going on the Triumph? I went two years ago and it was an awesome trip! It was to Progresso and Cozumel. I am hoping that my husband and I can go on that cruise soon after he gets his GC!

Me and my USC husband will be travelling on a cruise for our wedding anniversary via Carnival going to Western carribean for 5 days its still a few months from now but I noticed that the expiry date on my EAD/ AP is a week away from our travel date...so I may need to renew it (ap/ead card) but my question is how long will it take for the card renewal if I renew it and if I only need my ap card and the green card and my passport of course when I leave and enter the US or do I need anything else aside from this things?

I just wanna get ready before our travel time...I called USCIS and advise to file renewal at least within 120 days before the AP expiration but cant give me timeframe delivery of renewal card and the customer service said its only the AP and the conditional permanent resident card needed since its just a 5 day trip...

Does anyone had the same situation as mine? Any experiences or advise would be appreciated...just apprehensive I have enough time to do renewal but I just wanna make sure that I don't have to do or nbring any kind of documents aside form the green card and the AP card on the 5 day cruise...

Nope its all from k1 to AOS like MRS PRESSON website which happen to be my guide before for my K1...she was organize and easy to follow and when i get here i was able to check other blogs and decided to join VJ just to compare but i got it...

Perhaps you were looking at cover letters from people that were adjusting from a visa other than a K-1. They would also need to file an I-130 and the I-130 requires certain documentation from the USC petitioner, just like the I-129F petition required. I-130 not needed when adjusting from a K-1.

Follow the guide and the I-485 instructions. They tell you what is needed for adjusting from a K-1.

Thanks, that's exactly the same topic I followed but when I keep reading abt other peoples cover letter I found out some additional things added not mentioned on such topic...get confused like the passport photo style with the passport photo some included the US citizen too...confusing...checking peoples post from VJ's and other websites...I think it really is the discretion of the applicant then as long as I followed the basic forms needed as stated in USCIS and customer service instruction it should be ok...maybe some people gets paranoid including papers not asked for and also avoid getting RFE...thanks
