  1. Good news guys! I got a welcome notice in the mail today. My AOS was approved on August 20th :goofy: I'm so happy since i was expecting at least 6 months waiting... but even with the interview waiver it only took 2 months ^_^

    Congrats

Wow congrats to all the approvals, especially you with NPIW letter.

I had my interview today and got approved as well. Nothing online yet though. Overall it was a pretty relaxed interview, took about 15 min.

    Congrats Washburn

  2. So I received my welcome notice on Saturday just waiting on my green card now.....

Me too Millz, have you started applying for jobs yet?

Is there any March 2015 filers who has gotten to the interview stage yet?

We have finally received my husband's GC after almost 4 weeks of waiting! So excited for my husband to get home from work and show him his GC fresh from the mailbox. Lol :joy:

    Congrats

  3. Hi everyone! Just checking in.

Update: I've had ZERO word about an interview or interview waiver since my card arrived over a month ago.

But, I'm actively looking for jobs, nothing yet :( . and yesterday, I got my drivers PERMIT from the DMV after passing the two computer tests they make you take. I now have to schedule a road test which is $50 for the test and $20 for the license if you pass! What a ripoff.

I gotta say, I felt really embarrassed to be back there taking those tests with 16yr olds lol. I felt ancient!! By the way, it's my birthday today...a whopping 34 years old! Maybe I AM ancient.

But back to the DMV, I really thought they would waive at least my road test seeing that I've had a Georgia drivers license in the past plus I still have a valid license from my home country. Why make me retest ? Ugh.

Anyway, good luck to all! Hopefully I'll hear something about an interview or job soon .

Happy birthday to you jens_prodigy. Wishing you lots more. God bless you and may you hear some wonderful news today.

  4. I had my interview yesterday..... First I was late because of my hard head husband who didn't want to use the GPS. anyway got there about seven minutes after my interview appointment... Got to the security who check my appointment notice then send me to the appointment checking wind.ow. wait about 15 minutes or more then a immigration officer came out an call my name. We ( Me, Husband and Baby) went back to his office sat for about 2 minutes while he look through my file then he ask for my passport. Look through my passport then continue to look through my file. Then he ask

IO: When did I got married?

    Me: July 14, 2014

IO: Why did we get married in Brooklyn If we live in New Jersey?

Me: Because I was spending time with my great grand father.

then he ask for my I-94... continue to type and check my file. then he ask a few questions from the I-485. After which I notice he had stamp APPROVED on my file but still had us sit there a few more minutes before he said EVERYTHING LOOK GOOD YOU SHOULD RECEIVED YOUR CARD IN TWO WEEKS.

P.S I did not submit any evidence so I was surprise he didn't ask for anything....

    Congrats Millz, we did it.

  5. We just returned from our interview and was approved. We were just ask the questions from the biographic information we filled out before. My husband who is the petitioner was asked how we met. I was there kicking him under the table and hoped he got the date right. He did.We took every shred of evidence and she didn't ask us for nothing.we were n there for approximately 30 minutes. As soon as we got out I received a bunch of emails and text messages that our cards were ordered and is in production.

Guys don't be nervous, be relaxed and try to strike up conversations with your interviewer. You'll be glad you did. I wish you all the best of luck

Thanks all for the support given me.

She told us our cards will be in the mail within 2 weeks.

You're on way to your American Dream, all the best in your future endeavors.

  7. Question... does everyone's ssn say "valid for work only with DHS authorization"? I got my card today just about a week after applying which is awesome but I thought it was just going to look like a regular ssn. I had an ssn card when I was in the states for college and this is what it said. I'd misplaced the card and needed a new one in order to go to the dmv which is why I got this. I clearly stated that I needed a replacement card but also to remove the restrictions and I showed my EAD card. But I still got a card back with what I thought was a restriction. So, is this correct??

    Hello jens_prodigy,

Our cards have the same wording as well. I was told that whenever we get the green cards, we will have to go back to ssa and remove these conditions. Not a problem for work though, you just need to show work permit.

Good luck on your journey, when's your interview?

  8. maybe you applied for it earlier when you arrived here in the U.S., and 60 days before your 1-94 expires, it's not the same case if you are applying for DL and the 90 days as K1 visa expired..If I only knew that before then I would have been the same as you, cause I have a valid drivers license from my home country too..I've been twice rejected at DMV - 1st my 1-94 did not qualify for the remaining 60 days period...and 2nd attempt was my SSN name didn't match with my EAD..SSN in maiden and EAD in married name..they told me to come back once I have fixed my name change for SSN..

Ok, I arrived in March 2013. I was way out of status when I applied in April of 2015.It states on their website that you must present the I94 even if expired, along with your noas. Im in south Florida, I guess it might be different bin other states. I will be forwarding you the link

  9. hi, yes give at least 2 weeks before you go to SSA for name change, then wait for your SSN new card to arrive under your married name before going to DMV..they need to match with your name in your EAD..Good luck!

If I may add my little bit. I went to DMV with just passport, I94 and NOAs. It wasn't a hassle. I did my written and driving test, passed and received my pemit. They told me the original will be delivered as soon as DHS does their checks. The permit I have is for a year. I had drivers licence before from my home country.
