Okay:
So. U.S job offer; Small non-for profit media company. I would essentially be a reporter/correspondent type thing for on camera.
University starts January(ish)
Sorry lost_at_sea, I understand your confusion. Sorry!
I would want to live at home eventually. However, while she finishes her degree, I would hope to live here and work. (Q. Is that even possible?)
University degree: It is in house and so I could return to that. OR I could potentially do it online. I also have job offers from back home (which are dated for two years) I would return to those with my wife (hopeful wife).
I just want everything to be legal and legit! And I understand how it is confusing for you.. as it is confusing for me. there are many paths of the future which can affect what I even do.
And please forgive me... I may not realise something is a complete abuse or something similar. So please pull me up and give me an alternative option.
Sorry.. that came out wrong. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Now, lost_at_sea, What would you recommend? If I wanted to get married to this girl. What would it require?
Going from the: I must be out of this country August 7. What would be the steps you would take and what amount of time do you think it could take? -
Uni starts at the end of this year. Once I would return because I have put it off for a year of touring
-
So that would be a potential job if we got married and didn't move to Australia straight away... It is only an offer and I would prefer (and so would my family) to just live back there.
-
Well here is where it can get confusing:
We would get married here most likely. (In the states) but then we would eventually move to Australia within 2 years. I would continue touring and seeing america while we organise forms for her immigration to AUS and marriage ones to U.S. If that makes sense?
I have no intent whatsoever to abuse the visitor visa!! Please don't have that thought. There is not one intention in abusing it. As I have family, job offers, university (college) -
But coming back into the states, the border officers would re stamp me for another 6 months say?
-
Boiler; Yes they are the two things that are on my mind. I would DEFINITLEY NOT void that date. Hence why I was following up on the Embassy guy's comment of going to canada and coming back. And the second: I am aware.. so how would I prove that I am not living here?
Transborderwife: Thank you. I doubt I would use a lawyer...
Canadian_wife: yes. I am aware of the voiding. and I am also very aware that it does not allow me to stay straight five years. hence the concerns. -
Boiler, I am heading back under August 13th for the 10 days. And then I am planning on coming back to finish touring.
Transborderwife, I am not on a VWP any more.. I am on 5 year visitor visa. The job is a media/reporting job. I would be an Australian Correspondent, based in Detroit.

Hey guys,
November of 2014, I came to the states to visit for 2 months on a Visa waiver from Australia.
Now while I was here, I met a girl and we continued to talk over January and I came back to do some more touring around with her and her family on a five year visitor visa. I have fallen in love with her and intend on proposing within the next two months. I was obviously stamped in until August 7. I intend to go back to Australia for 10 days to see my dying grandfather, and taking her with me, before returning to continue touring. So this leaves approximately a week where I can't be in the country. Home base is in Detroit.
When I applied for the visa at the consulate, the gentleman said to go over to canada for a weekend and come back to get stamped back in. Now while I am at it, I will most likely be engaged by August 7th.. if everything goes according to plan. I would definitley live over here and I have been offered a job from an American friend nearby. So I would definitely intend on getting married and living here. WHAT DO I DO??
I am sorry if this is confusing... I understand!
Any help would be great. Even as simple as: can I go to canada and get stamped back in.. for the week. I have planned a year long tourism trip.
Thanks,
Louis.
Contracted by US company
in Work Visas
Posted
Hey Guys,
I own and run a small social media/marketing business in australia. I generally do some freelance work however was looking to be contracted full time. So a US non for profit, medi/news outlet has hired me to work for them. Currently I am not being paid, due to the international stuff etc. (going through process now). They want me to move on-site in Michigan and I would also like to do that as there would be a higher pay than working off-site and I get to have more responsibility.
which visa would I go for? How would I go about it? What is the process?
any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
