  1. My case was originally supposed to go to Sanaa, Yemen, but since the US embassy is closed there, I requested that the NVC transfer it to Algiers, but then changed my mind to have it transferred to Cairo because my fiance was able to obtain a Egyptian visa. My fiance is currently residing there waiting for an appointment, but the Cairo embassy keeps telling us that our case is not at their post. I was notified that our case was sent out of the NVC on 11/24/15 and to Algiers, but I change the request for the case to go to Cairo instead, so now I was notified that my case has been sent to Cairo on 1/20/16 and now its been nearly a month and half and I still haven't heard any news back from anywhere! What is taking so long? It's really hard to be patient when there's no updates from anywhere. Please help!!

    Thank you

  2. How long does it typically take for a case to be transferred from one embassy to another? My case is being transferred from Algiers to Cairo.

Also, my case was originally supposed to go to Yemen but since the war broke out resulting in shutting down the US embassy in Sanaa, Yemen, I had to transfer my case to another embassy. Is my case considered a immigrant visa or nonimmigrant visa because I've heard so many different things.

    Thank you!

  3. Hello there everyone,

I've been searching everywhere for some help or information regarding cases that were originally supposed to be transferred to the Embassy in Yemen but weren't do to the war. So I was hoping someone here can help me! :)

My case has been sent to the US Embassy in Cairo from the NVC. My fiancé has been in Cairo for about 3 weeks now.

    1. How long does it usually take for the Embassy to receive the case?
    2. Does it affect the case or processing time if my fiancé's nationality isn't Egyptian?
    3. How long does it take for the Embassy to schedule an appointment?
    4. I was told to send some documents to the Embassy via Aramex, what in the world is Aramex?
    5. Should I send the documents to my fiancé first via DHL and he sends it to the Embassy himself using their Aramex courier instead?
    6. If any Yemenis have sent their cases to Cairo and experienced the interview process, what should my fiancé expect?
    7. What documents should my fiancé take with him to the interview?

Answering any of the questions above will be BIG help! Thank you!!
