  1. I would really suggest waiting until after the interview. The letter will probably say to bring the I-693, if necessary. I would wait until they specifically said that you NEED the medical done. The requirement says "you are not required to have another medical examination at time of adjustment as long as:

    • Your Form I-485 is filed within 1 year of your overseas medical examination
    • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition
    • If you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver"

Since you filed your AOS within a year of your medical, you shouldn't need to have another one done. I know you don't want a medical exam to plug up the process, but you may end up spending hundreds of dollars for no reason. I am one of those "better safe than sorry" folks, but on this one, I don't think it's necessary. We were in the process of getting all the vaccinations and was planning on getting the I-693 prepared for vaccination history a few days before my husband's GC was issued.

You may want to find a reasonable civil surgeon in your area just in case, but I would wait. We all still have at least one month until we reach the six month mark. If your AOS was submitted before your medical hit one year, then I would suggest sitting tight. Notice how it doesn't say that your medical is only good for one year, but that you need a new medical if your AOS was submitted after the year mark of the overseas medical.

You are absolutely right..I will call now and cancel my appointment. thanks again :) have a good day

  4. Yeah keeping busy is hard. I went to a movie alone yesterday just for something to do. MIne didn't take me on the freeway at all and the parking was just pulling up to a curb and having to back up along it. I had a few minor errors but passed it. I thought about San Marcos but took what was available first that was on a day my husband was off. I'm just glad it's done and I have a car and a bit of freedom to do what I want during the day. I still need to find a job though.

Yeah it's hard on me too eventhough I have my k2 here, still miss my husband...I read they don't really do freeway on the test...did he asked you to change lane? Can you tell me what else you did on your test...just give me idea....Can't wait to get a DL too to get to anywhere without my inlaw lol...I will use my husband truck... Try indeed.com maybe you find a job there.

  5. That does sound awful! Hopefully you don't feel tooisolated. Where's your behind the wheel test at? I did mine in North park. It wasn't too awful. I wanted poway but I didn't want to wait that long. If your interview will be in San Diego than we would be in the same place. I'm in Mira Mesa.

I know..I keep myself busy but still checking status every minute lol...at the new dmv at Rancheros San Marcos, supposed to be at Oceanside but mother-in-law told me just get the nearest one. I hope so as I never drive in a multi lane and with stop signs haha funny, I drove at us naval base (where my husband work) 25mph, 2 way lane, with no stoplight and police on every block haha...when I practice here, my trainer almost had a heart attack haha...so good luck on my test.... Yeah I guess it will at SD too..will keep you posted
  6. It definitely is frustrating and I agree. I'm happy to have a car now to get around. I definitely feel less cooped up.

Also youre just down the freeway from me :)

Really frustrating to a wife that just had 10days (for the wedding) with husband since I got here thru k1 as he has to go back work overseas. I need GC to follow him there... Will have my behind the wheel test on the 28th, hope I passed...
