  1. Well...here is my story so you can go on. My fiancé's interview was Sept 16, then it was just approved and received October 10, then the earliest we could schedule a CFO meeting was October 15. Now here is was my thinking, I would take 3-weeks vacation in Manila and landed here Oct 1 thinking the visa would be received earlier and we could still make a quick trip to Singapore before we leave on Oct 15th. Luckily I didn't book her and her daughter's flight yet and only mine, but I still have to call my travel agency and make a 2-hour long distance call to the USA to rebook mine then purchase theirs. So again, the decision was my own and I had no other choice as I was pressed for time. But if you can afford to keep rebooking tickets, the headache of doing so, and more importantly the stress of worrying everyday if not only to get a passport but allow enough time for her to do her pre-travel things then more power to you

  2. This is just funny and sad now. I know you are blinded by satisfaction or whatever, because I assume you would know a little bit of the country that your girlfriend or ex is from an have been there enough to see that the only thing that will happen in 30 days or less a lawyer accepting a case. How much was a high-profile lawyer anyway? And did they ask for you to pay fee after fee after fee for things you never heard of and fees to file everything? Hank, I would like to purchase that beachfront AZ home you are selling ! :-)

  3. on a separate note, my Filipina-fiance read this too and she said that not all Filipina are bloodsucker and moneygrabbers and there are many good people in her country. So there is still hope for happiness. As for the idea that all foreigners support Filipinas, she makes more $$$ than I do yearly. So at least I know she isnt after my $$$.

  4. Do you have any other sort of experience trying to identify frauds and such? I just happened to stumble upon this feed and I ended up reading everyone's comments. When I read that you were worried about spending all this money for her family, etc. Now you will spend even more $$$ on a lawyer with no real results and another trip to PI with your new girlfriend that you just met? It sounds like you were in love with the idea of having someone and not really the girl, if you were able to move on that quickly. But anyway, if you think what you are doing is right, then more power to you. But from my seat visiting over a dozen 3rd-world countries and spending weeks in each of them, I am pretty sure she didn't love you at all.

  5. haaa....when I met my fiance she was an OFW working abroad in Japan where I was living. she filed for annulment prior to leaving for her 3-year contract and when she returned, she had to restart the whole process. She did it via Metro-Manila and yes...hurry up and wait is the the phrase. This is a serious test of both of your love, faithfulness, but more importantly your willingness to wait. The whole process too 2years 7months for her. even prior to it reaching the courts, she needed to go through 1 1/2 years of therapy to make sure 2 separate doctors clear her. Then another year-plus in the actual courtt-system. It was a pain in the ###, the actual filing of the VISA seemed like child's play compared to that process. I still saw her 2-4 times a year for 2-3 weeks at a time, but still, it was hard. And then we toss in her child that "they forgot to include in the court papers" so that was another wait. THEN when she went to get her medical screening down, the doctors saw that she was annulled, and guess wait...another doctor had to clear her so their office was certain that her previous therapy sessions were not fake....terrible

  6. So what are you all doing to satisfy the RFE? I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I used www.filipinocupid.com to meet my fiance, and they do not have an IMBRA form. I thought this could be an issue so I emailed the help desk and included the below email response in my initial I-129 application package, but they still sent me an RFE asking for this IMBRA from that I never did and the "IMBRA" form referenced by the email response, was just a quick online questionaire that I only had to click "submit" and it was all electronic and required no signature on my part. I emailed an Immigration Attorney (even though I wanted to this on my own) and hopefully this week I can get this done. I am not sure really what an Attorney can for me, but at least he should have experience with this.

    Dear member,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Please be advised that section
4 (B) (ii) of IMBRA exempts dating companies whose principal business is not to provide dating services between US citizens and foreign nationals so long as it charges comparable rates and offers comparable services to all individuals regardless of gender or country of citizenship. Consequently our company is exempt as it falls within this exemption (as do many other
    large dating companies).

However, as a service to our members, we provide an optional form to all our websites for US residents to complete the required IMBRA background information. This ensures we are complying with the legislation and will also assist our members who wish to apply for USA K non-immigrant visa in future.

Full information regarding IMBRA can be found

    Hello,

    Many years ago when I
first paid into your website, I met my fiancé
here. Now 4+ years later we are
finally applying for a US Visa and I
need to show proof that I submitted a
    IMBRA questionnaire / form. How
do I obtain one or print it out from your
    site?

    Thanks for your help.
