  1. I would like to know as well. I am the American, hubby is Moroccan , after 8 years of marriage he wants a divorce. He is going to Morocco on the 16th and says I don't need to go, only send a note saying he has my permission to divorce. Still wondering if we need to do something here in the US??

  2. We filed for Adjustment of status the end of August 2008, had biometrics soon after and had our interview on April 28th. The interview went great and she told us then that we were approved and should get his greencard in 7 to 10 days. 20 days went by with no greencard, no welcome letter, no card production ordered, NOTHING. Then he called the customer service number and got a woman who, after putting us on hold to pull up his file, still knew absolutely nothing!! All she had on her computer was that we had been transferred to NBC. (YES several months ago!!!) He explained that we had the interview and had been approved. She seemed very confused and told us their policy was that we needed to give them 90 days to get his card to him. My husband was not satisfied with that answer so he made and infopass appointment at the center where we were interviewed (Albany NY). Another 2 weeks went by for the date of the infopass. We drove the 3 hours to Albany and once we were finally called to the window. The woman gave us attitude at first and treated us like we were idiots or else trying to get an approval without an interview. She went somewhere for about 15 minutes then came back called us again and then was EXTREMELY polite. She explained that his file was no longer there and the computer only showed that his case was still "PENDING". She said the woman who interviewed us didn't remember if she approved us or not (We had seen her, she had seen us that day and KNEW she remembered us at least!) She explained that SOMEHOW nothing had been updated in the computer after our interview, she couldn't explain why. She called somewhere to have it "Expedited" back to the Albany office. She kept my husband's passport and said if his file checked out as approved she would stamp it with the I-551 stamp and mail it back to him. 3 days later we got a phone call saying that his passport had been stamped and mailed. 2 days later it arrived with a letter saying card production had been ordered as of the day of the phonecall. So point being, we knew about the delays with greencard approval and assumed that was the reason it hadn't arrived yet but when no welcome letter came and no case update appeared we knew something was wrong. Please everyone just be aware and keep on USCIS until you get that greencard we have all put so much hope, money, and effort into getting. Don't let them get away with all this "Give us time" #######!!! Another note for me to complain about..... Has anyone else notice how SLOW moving and unconcerned everyone at a service center is?????? I saw one woman go out for cigarette breaks 3 times in 40 minutes!!!!!!!!!! Another went outside for "some air" and spent 20 minutes on her cell phone. Obviously no one cares that our partners, our families, our lives are in their hands! I will be so glad when that greencard is in his hand and this whole frustrating ordeal is behind us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. My husband was 6 months here without work. We live in a VERY tiny town with very few job opportunities. We found it was very helpful for him to physically go to places of business and talk to people. Just sending out applications didn't work. Once they saw him and understood that he COULD speak and understand English and saw his personality he had 3 job offers right away. Good Luck to you!!

  4. My husband and I were married in Rabat after 9 days. We did have a very good lawyer who pushed everything through quickly. Yes there is MAJOR running around getting papers translated, stamped and photocopied and stamped and photocopied again. We had a friend who had been through the process with other friends so he knew all the steps and shortcuts to make it go quickly. Just be sure you have all the necessary paperwork.

  5. just a little note , they kept my birth certificate and divorce papers. This whole process took us 9 days but we had a fantastic lawyer and a friend who had just been through it. As far as the criminal record/police report I had a REALLY hard time getting that. I went to the local police, State Police, Justice of the peace and called everywhere I could think of to get it. I was looked at like I had 4 heads or didn't speak English. No one had any idea how to do it for me, apparently in my state it can't be done just cause I want it done. I finally called the sherriffs department an 11pm two days before I left, broke down crying and he agreed to run my driver's license and write something up on letterhead. If not for my lawyer this woud not have been acceptable. check into getting it as soon as possible so you are sure you CAN get it.

  6. We were married September 20,2005, I came home 3 days later. It was almost 9 months before I was able to go back and be with him. We have been apart for two months again and no end in sight. I just try to take it one day at a time, thinking of the months apart is too much. So everyday I look forward to talking to my husband on yahoo and in between I try to stay busy and find something to do that makes me smile(Usually quilting with my Mom and sister, or watching an Adam Sandler movie). As others have said this time apart has helped us grow as a couple. We have a chance to really talk about life, love, the future and really get to know each other. Not despite but BECAUSE of the distance this is the closest, most emotionally satisfying relationship I have ever had. We just try to think how much we will appreciate being together when he finally gets here. Just one day at a time!!!!

  7. I like both. Been drinking coffee since I was 3. I drink coffee every evening with hazelnut creamer(I work nights so it really my morning). Every morning I drink green tea with honey, also like Chai, some herbals and especially Moroccan mint tea YUMMMMMMMY!!!!!!!

  8. Has to be Walmart, no Target way out here in the middle of nowhere. Never been in a Target. Our little town is having a major debate over whether or not to welcome a new SuperWalmart to our town. They don't want to push out the little"local" businesses, but NO ONE but tourists can shop "local" cause the prices are too dang high!!!! Can't even buy a pair of underwear in this town!!! Come on WALMART!!!!!

  9. Wow I am soooooooooooo happy for you!! I was transferred the same day, hope I'm not too far behind you!!!! Congrats!!!!!

I just had a premination and decided to call the 800 number tocheck on the case, I was shock to hear that the RFE for the I129 was received..finally   :dance::dance::dance: , bu twhat really got me was when I tried the I130 number. It said THIS PETITION WAS APPROVED ON JULY 24, 2006 :dance::dance::dance::dance:, oh my god I cannot believe it, I got approved. What a load.

    Thank you all so much,

I cant wait to tell my husband.

Bless you all and good luck

ps. just to inform you all if you check my signiture you will see that about 2 weeks agao I was transfered to California, so for all you guys who got transfered the approval is coming.

  10. What I understand is that being touched does not nesessarily mean they are working on the case, it just gives us a little glimpse of hope and then leaves us waiting some more. It can just mean that the case was moved from one stack to another. Just relax and be patient. Worrying about all this will not do you any good or make your case move any faster. Read a good book, have an ice cream or do anything you enjoy while you wait. Whatever you have to do to keep busy and make the wait tolerable. It is out of our hands, the only thing we have the power to do is stay positive.

My application (NOA1 March 1, 2006) was transferred to California on 07/12/06. It has not been received in California yet, and the USCIS website does not show any updated status except that it was transferred to California. Should I be worried? It seems that many people's applications have already arrived in California and are already being worked on.
  11. Mine was transferred July 6th. I had 2 e-mails that day telling me that. On July 11th or 12 I got a Notice of Action from Vermont telling me that my case had been transferred to California. Case status at USCIS says "On July 10 your I-130 was received here for processing. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete." The e-mail and the NOA both say "California has jurisdiction over the case" I have been touched 4 times since the original e-mail, the 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

    When was it transferred?

    When were you notified?

When did it arrive in California?

How did you know it had arrived in California?

When you check your case status on the USCIS website, what does it tell you about California?

How long has it been in California?

How many times has it been touched since it arrived in California?

    Thanks!

  12. I've been getting touched a lot lately too , sure hope it means good things.

finally recieved the snail mail I797 that the case was transfer with a notice date of July 6,2006 at least the receipt date stays the same ( 4/8/06).

Ane of you guys got word about the K3 RFE?

I got touched so many days since the transfer you guys think we might be getting approved soon????

  13. Welocme to the club. I think that makes 8 of us now???

    Hello all,

I got that transfer notice in mail yesterday as well. Case was transfered from VSC to CSC with a notice date of July 6th. On my case status online it says, "your application was received here on July 10th" so I guess CSC is confirming reciept of the case but what next...............?

I soo hope this moves quick. I gave up hope on K3 after they've halted everything for the IMBRA thing. If anyone with similar transfers have any further updates, please post. Thanks!

  14. VJ members can only tell you what is happening to their own cases. You would hear from your service center if you are being transferred. pnd629 is saying they were approved in only two months so don't count on the processing dates for accuracy.

Our NOA1 date was March 1 and we were approved in May!

I don't think their dates are very accurate.

I'm fairly new to the visa process, and especially the timeline jargon and understanding the Service Center processing times, so I'm sorry if I don't follow...

    Are you saying that:

    1. Something didn't happen until May for you, that they claimed happened in March, or

    2. Vice Versa, or

    3. Something else?

Thanks in advance for the clarification...

I filed in Nebraska, as instructed, and have since been informed by VJ members that my I-130 is being sent to CSC... so I am confused and discouraged, and my wife is even more discouraged...

I thought the CR-1 immigration would take 6 months, and my wife could be here by Christmas 2006, but I guess I was in dreamland...?

  15. I agree with you completely, it was very scary and misleading but please try to relax. What good is all the worrying doing you???? There are several of us in the same situation and none of us has the answer . We sympathize with you and understand just how you feel. Just try to stay positive and keep busy until we do find the answer. I'm just trying to keep in mind that finally after 4 months SOMETHING is being done with my I-130, it has sat gathering cobwebs in Vermont all that time and I'm glad it has been dusted off and is moving!!!!!

Sorry to be so anxious - but it seems like I can't help it! I'm okay until I start thinking about it, and then ....

I talked to the toll-free number and at first she said my case must have been transferred by mistake. Then after a long time she came back on the phone and said my case was transferred due to a backlog. She also said it would take 2-4 weeks for my application to make it to California and be documented as received. When I asked if I would now be behind all I-130 applications received in California before that time, she said she wasn't really sure but she hoped they'd process mine according to the original receipt date.

At least she was honest, and human.

I don' t think they should be sending form letters out telling Vermont people that California has jurisdiction over their cases - that 's inappropriate, misleading, and confusing. They ought just be honest and up front and say that they are waaayyyy behind - even though supposedly on the USCIS website it says they're processing apps from 2/5/06. Too bad. Mine was received & NOA1 date of 3/1/06. I'm pretty sure I'll have a longer wait now.

Does anyone know the answer to that question? Will all the applications sent from Vermont to California now be behind all the applications already in California, or will they move ours ahead according to the date Vermont received them? The dates of receipt in Vermont vary from March to May.

    Thanks,

  16. MY I130 NOA 1 date is the 26th of March at VSC and it was send to CSC on the 10th of July and I got an email that said that it was rcvd at CSC on the 10th. It's been touched on the 12th of July and also on the 13th(today). So I hope that means they're working on it. Hang in there! Our chance will come soon!

Mine has gotten touched a lot too since the transfer, it feels sooooooooooooooooo good after sitting in Vermont and being ignore since I filed. I have to hope the transfer was a good thing despite the confusion.

  17. I agree it sucks. I am with ya on the "local" office part. I am 2 hours from the Vermont Service center. California cannot be more NON local!!!! Today I got a notice of action from Vermont telling me that my case was transferred. It says "We transferred this case because the record shows that office has jurisdiction over the case. That office will notify you of subsequent action taken on this case. Any further inquiries should be made to that office." I had hoped I would get more information when I get something in snail mail. Guess not. So here I sit still in the dark.

You can add me to the list. I received my NOA-1 on March 6, 2006. I had no activity after that, until I received the email telling me our file was sent to CSC for processing on July 6, 2006.

    Bob

ME TOO. My NOA1 date is March 1, 2006. No touches or activity on my application/case at all until the e-mail today, stating that my application was transferred to California. I was not affected by new rules and did not have to deal with an RFE. Why are these cases being transferred, and what does it mean for us? This SUCKS! Jeez, haven't used that word in decades - but this seems like an appropriate time.

Please add me: NEWHAMPSHIRE NOA1 03/01/06 Transferred to California July 12, 2006

WHY DOES CALIFORNIA HAVE JURISDICTION OVER MY CASE? I'M IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND MY HUSBAND IS IN ONTARIO, CANADA?!
