Yeah I was amazed how that could be and for the interview they only requested a short list of documents. Here is what they requested for the interview;

1. Passport

1. Beneficiary’s birth certificate – original, copy and translation
2. Marriage certificate/book – original and translation

5. Original I-864 form from petitioner

6. Petitioner’s 1040 and W-2 from year 2014

7. If petitioner’s income does not meet 2015 Poverty Guidelines, you can have a relative/friend as a joint sponsor (American Citizen/Permanent Resident)

8. If joint sponsor required, Original I-864, 1040 & W2 from year 2014 is also required.

The email I got didn't seem legitimate, but I called the embassay to verify and the interview date and time was just sent to me in a standard email, this is what it showed in my interview email;

Dear Petitioner / Beneficiary;

An immigrant visa interview has been scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta on July 29^th, 2015 at 12.30.

Please bring the required documents with you to the Embassy on the day of your interview. Please note that failure to bring the documents with you on the day of your interview may delay the processing of your visa.

After I got the welcome letter from the NVC it took around a week to get my case number assigned. I had the month long delay like most people and was unable to login to pay the AOS fee or complete the ds 261. I called daily to the NVC but they said just to wait it out and nothing they could do. I sent in 3 emails to the NVC and I think by doing this it expedited my case to the NVC. I just said I couldn't login or do anything in this stage. At the near of June I was finally able to sign in to fill the forms and fees. A few days later I got an email from the NVC responding to my previous emails and said that they handed my case to the Jakarta embassay from the delay in the process. You should have gotten your case number by now. After that each fee should clear within 5-7 days to pay the next fee or form.

Just finished the entire visa process with a completed approved interview! I was lucky enough to skip most of the nvc step and able to pay the iv fee during the interview and bring all the documents to the interview instead of having to send in the documents to the nvc. I thought the interview would be long since they hadn't reviewed all my supporting documents and i864, but it was a standard 10 minute interview with the normal questions I've seen people post on here. After the NVC sent my case to the Jakarta embassay, I was able to get my interview date within 2 weeks. Last week I went for the medical checkup and the results were ready in 5 days. Good luck to all in getting through the NVC and the rest of the visa process.

silvelining, I got a similar style email but instead of the interview date mine said it had been forwarded to the embassay. It was a regular style email like yours. I contacted the embassay to confirm that my case had been sent there and they allowed me to request an interview date. There is a login page on the embassay where I have the interview and it let me check my status and confirmed that the previous step had been done and an interview available.

I didn't request an expedite but am grateful that i got it as it is much easier to deal with the embassay then the nvc. I'm not sure if different countries process the cases differently but it seems some are better than others.

I somehow got my case expedited. i sent an email to the nvc in may in regards to the delay and just got a response last week.then when i signed into the nvc it says my case was forwarded to the embassay and the fee paid there. then i just got an email stating the nvc has forwarded my case to the jakarta embassay dated 2 weeks ago. The embassay also sent me an email stating they recieved my i130 approved petition and ready to schedule an interview eventhough i never sent the aos and iv package to the nvc. I emailed in regards of this to the embassay and they said i can bring the i864 to the interview along with the civil documents and pay the aos fee. has anyone else have this happen?

SabeehNajem, when i filled the ds260 i put the mothers name shown on the petitioner's birth certificate, so the maiden name. but since Indonesia the name doesn't change when married.

When the nvc stage is complete is there a notice when you sign in to the nvc website? Or is it just an email that the nvc completed processing of your case and forwarded your immigration petition to the embassay with the date forwarded?

I'm filing the i130 spouse of us citizen. I just have to send the documents now. it shows n/a for my iv fee and aos fee as paid.

When i logged in to the nvc it finally showed my aos fee as paid.along with the message that my case has been sent to the embassay and the iv fee can be paid when you go for the interview and any other fees . this message allowed me to fill out the ds 260 and skip the iv fee for now.did anyone else get the same message when signing in?

pam johnson, I am in the same situation as you and here are the 2 options I found on the NVC website:

option 1: "If none of the above apply and you are using the income of other household members to meet the minimum income requirement. The sponsor must complete Form I-864 and each household member must complete Form I-864A"

option 2: If none of the above apply and:

1. You do not meet the minimum income requirement and are using a joint sponsor, and
2. You are not using the income of other household members to qualify.

The sponsor and the joint sponsor must each complete Form I-864

So, if you just use one family member as the sponsor they fill the 1-864 with your husband. This is the way i'm filing, since my dad's income is enough and don't need other family members to meet the income requirement. But if they file taxes together you sould do option 1 like you metioned.

I have my case number from the NVC, but when i sign in to choose an agent ds261 it says that the case number you entered is not available for further review at this time. Has anyone else had a similar issue? When I skip to part 2 to pay and enter my case number it shows my name. So I don't know why that is viewable but I can't complete the ds261. It has been a few weeks. At first I got the error others have gotten that the number I entered doesn't match their records, but after calling the NVC I get this newer message.

I'm having the same issue. It's been 3 weeks since I got my case number and invoice id. At first I got the error that the information you entered doesn't match our records. And after I called the NVC a few times I get a new error when I login, "the case number you entered isn't availble for further review at this time". I go to the second step for pay my fees and it shows my name but the bill not invoiced yet, since I haven't been able to complete choose an agent. It is frustrating and the people on the phone aren't helpful and say it's because I use the wrong internet browser, though I know it's not the case. I've tried every possible browser. And they aren't sure when the website will be fixed. It seems like they expect it to be down for a while because of the message that says " if this is an emergency situation contact the local embassay". Anamaral, I am in the same situation as you. Have you been able to login to complete step 1 choose an agent for the NVC? I have been trying with no luck for 3 weeks from a system error. I am using my parents as the joint sponsor as well. I was going to complete form I864, but it seems using the I864A is easier.
