I know this topic is pretty dormant, but I had my interview at MTL on Oct 24 and was issued a 221g- they wanted additional proof of my husband's income. Tracking shows it was delivered Nov 3, but my CEAC login page is still the same as before my interview.

Does anyone have more recent experience of the processing time? My OC said "1-2 weeks" but this forum has got me doubting that. I just want to be with my husband again!! So sick of this.

Hi!! I understand the frustration of waiting, my husband's process took 15 months after his first interview,  Unfortunately there's nothing you can do. If they received the documents already and this was the only condition, Im sure your status will change soon! :) Wish you the best!! Good luck!!

Can you please advise me as i am in similar situation, They said mine DS260 expire so i re sumbit again online and they will call me for re-oath? What will happened in your case when you went for re-oath?  Is re-oath mean another interview and what they asked in re-oath? Please advise.

    Hi!!

Yes, its a short interview as they want to know what changes you have had since the first interview. ( like new address, new job)  it was less than 10 minutes.

  4. Hi there!

Try to get in contact with an immigration attorney from Miami ( just google it) there's 100's that specialize in the Cuban situation due to the big community here. I'm sure they can help you and give you the right orientation about your bf's situation.

    hope for the best!!

  5. I'm desperately craving butter tarts and I cannot find any golden corn syrup here. I've looked everywhere. I can only find it on Canadian Favourites and I'm trying to avoid buying from there lest I open a flood dam. Do any of the other corn syrups or syrups here make a good substitute? I'm in Texas if that helps for regional things.

    try buying online.

  6. Hi everyone,

I had a quick question - my husband is Cuban and is in the process of AOS. Once he gets his resident card, we plan on traveling to Cuba to see his family. My question is, he was told he needed a (2-year) stamp to leave cuba- called a (pro-gu-la).. even though he will have his GC by then. Some say he can do it in cuba and others say you can send the passport to the cuban embassy here in WA. The latter option seems to take about 8 months, which is not the ideal situation.

My question is, can anyone shed light as to if he enters cuba and does the progula there, will he have issues leaving?

    Hi!

I think you are talking about " Prorroga" . if that the case, this is nothing with US immigration. It's something mandatory by Cuban Government on every cuban's passport. The life of the passport it supposed to be 6 years, however every 2 years you need to send your passport to the US consulate in Washington to get this "Stamp" called "Prorroga" in order to enter Cuba. This made the Cuban passport the most expensive in the world! because the cost of this is another 200 US (more, less) every 2 years.
(Like everything with Cuba its an absurd but they wont let in if you don't have it)
Hope this info will help :)
  7. We started the application process in April of 2015 for my Canadian husband to come to the US. He was granted his Visa in May of 2016. His PassPort has the Visa for the United States in it with an issue date of May 9 2016 and it expires on October 14 2016. Then there is a Customs and Border Protection stamp that shows a Class CR1 until May 17 2017.

My question is when does his Green Card arrive and I know that we have to change his status before being here for 2 years. I'm not even sure who to call to ask what the status is of his green card.

    Any help??

    Thanks tons

    Suzie

    Hi zuzie!

My husband received his in about 4 weeks after he entered.

I think you can call USCIS or maybe make an appointment at any local office ( just google USCIS (your city) field office) Maybe they sent it and got lost in the mail, unfortunately has happened before.

  8. Any recent reportings of how long it is taking for Montreal to ship their passport and visa back? Would it be faster if we change the delivery pick-up location to Montreal?

    Our interview is September 7th.

    Hi!!

Visa Issued Wed around 5pm, tracking info Thursday Morning, Package ready for Pick up Friday at 2pm

    3 days in total.

Good luck at your interview :-)

  9. Congrats! That's wonderful! Just a question, did you have to update your DS-160 application after one year? My fiancé called DOS, and they said the DS-160 may expire after one year.

My medical expired as well, so we are in the process of arranging everything to send into them. Hopefully our visa will get issued quickly after the new documents get delivered.

Yes, we had to complete e new application, they only asked for the confirmation page, The process was really easy to complete because in our case (the form is DS-260 for immigrant) all the information was in the system, I entered with the original user and password, input the new info, save it and at the end we just printed the new confirmation page (the aplication number remains the same) and sent it with the medical and police record
Hope yours is Issued soon!! :)(L)

  12. Hi!!

Today we got the same type of email, my Husband's interview was May/2015 They already requested and received New Medical, and Police records. They are not asking for any other document so we are very happy, positive and wishing for the best. :)

I was searching other cases as well but didn't find much info.

    Good Luck!!

  13. I am planning ahead a bit. We just got an RFE which absolutely sucks and couldn't have been worse timing as my Fiancé is in Africa for 2 weeks, so he won't be able to check it to know what we need until he is back.

Anyways, I have been trying to figure out the best way to coordinate my medical and interview since I don't have the option to do either where I live. Anyone who has done this process recently please help! :)

I live in Calgary, I understand I can get my medical done in either Montreal or Vancouver (the two that may work for me) Toronto isn't an option. Im about a 12 hour drive from Vancouver. I was going to just go to Montreal and stay for a week and get them both done in the same week, however, I called Medysis in Montreal today and they said it takes 10 business days to get the results. Therefore I would have to go for 2-3 weeks, which I can't afford to leave school for that long, and I can't really financially afford it.

I am wondering what people from Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba have done? I think I might just drive to Vancouver for 2 days and get the Medical and then fly to Montreal for the Interview, and stay a few days.

Just trying to figure out the most cost effective and time efficient way to do this.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi!

My husband just had his 2nd Medical in Vancouver(the first one expired already while waiting for visa and it was in Montreal), He's now living and working close to Lake Louise so he drove to Vancouver, His experience was very positive with Dr. Cheema (the authorized Dr. in the Area) Just make sure you have everything they request. The exam was ready at 4.30pm next day and then he drove back. There's a lot of hotels 10 to 15 min from the Dr.'s office. Just google hotels close to Dr. Cheema in VC. I will suggest to split the trip back and spend the night at some hotel. my husband did it in one shoot and got back around 2AM extremely tired. (You also have the choice of flying from Calgary to Vc. it will be only 1 night)
    Good luck with everything!! :)
