  1. 1) Just putting my wife through the same process. I asked her to take everything written on the ISL consulate website, whatever is written on the interview letter and also all the documents they did not request.

    2) The Serena - nice but expensive - however it is the nearest in proximity to the Embassy. Islamabad Hotel. Many hotels available in Blue Area and near Aabpaara.

    Also Faizabad for cheapest option

Also use the above to get familiarized more and it also might help answer some questions.

I have 2 queries, please help those who have had there interviews:

According to my interview letter, i need to bring my original passport, birth certificate and marriage certificate as it says "J" next to them. Next to Financial evidence it says "Y" which means:

Y - The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate

    1. Should I bring original signed i864 form to the interview along with other financial docs like IRS tax transcript, pay stubs etc ??

    2. Reviews on The Residence to stay for 2 days? Or pls name another affordable hotels/guest houses within the vicinity of the US embassy that is safe and comfortable. TIA

  2. Hello all,

We received the NVC letter with interview date and listed all the required documents to bring. Sure done. Then I went on to the local US consulate's website and it tells to bring all the documents that the NVC letter does and does not mention. I then called the NVC rep and they pretty much gave me an answer that did not help at all. I'm truly not sure what documents to send to my wife because if i have to take everything from the Petition packet + NVC packet plus all original documents. That will be a briefcase work of documents my wife will be taking.

Can someone provide some guidance? By the way this case was applied for i130 petition for alien spouse (family member)

  3. Yes you can change that no problem by calling the NVC. Otherwise just be patient and follow the normal timelines you will find on this forum for each step. If something is out of the normal time line then you can contact your NVC and address the issue or maybe even ask for a Supervisor.

  4. Thank you.

How long did they take to give you the interview date?

Congratulations. It sounds like a case complete to me. I would call again and see. I know when my case was completed, the AOS fee changed to N/A. Then the next day I called and the NVC agent informed me it was a case complete. I believe we received the email two or three days later.

  5. What is your date for case complete?

You can see my detailed timeline if u like, but:

    - It will take between 5-20 days from USCIS mail to be delivered to the NVC ( depending on the service center)

    - it will take between 14-30 days from receipt of mail , for NVC to assign a case number

    - then it may take another 4 days before you can "Assign an agent"
