Hello Everyone,
I have a question. When sending in copies of tax returns, credit cards, bank statements, etc with personal information on it, do we need to white out any of that information or leave as is?
-
Sounds good, good luck! Report back and let us know the response.
My wife and her 2 boys got the DS-3025 copy but it was blank without anything filled out. So, unfortunately, we had to find a civil surgeon to transcribe the vaccines. Needless to say, couldn't find one that would do just the vaccines so we ended up having to do another full medical because I didn't want to keep calling around wasting more time. Plus, I figured, it could only help since it extends the medical validity another year from now.
Let me know how your progress goes
Hello MariaR323,
I want to thank you soooo much for the information you gave us. We did the exact same thing as the thread you gave us and IT WORKED!! We did not have to do a new medical exam, you saved us a lot of money! Our case got approved and my wife has received her green card already by mail. We both are very happy and thank you so much for this!!
-
Yes both of you need to fill out the I-134 form and sees in the required documents too. I had a co-sponsor too and we both had to fill it out. Good luck!

We will come back with an update when we get one and hopefully this will work!! If not then i guess we will be doing a full medical examinations again because she's not going back home!! ?

I read another member's post that they got the same RFE requesting a medical exam... they posted how they replied, cover letter, etc. and they got approved right after. You can try responding the same way they did and avoid having to go thru another (costly) medical exam?
Here's the link to the thread if you're interested: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/597458-rfe-i-693-adjusting-from-k-1/
Maria
Thanks for this! I have read the tread and when we sent in the AOS package we never sent in the I-693 form because her vaccination were complete. We are thinking of sending a letter and sending in a complete copy of her overseas medical examination. Then just wait and see.
-
When adjusting from a K-1, you should not have to get another medical if your K-1 medical was done within a year of filing for AOS. However, some immigration officers do not seem to know the policies regarding AOS from a K-1. Some are asked for a new medical, and some are correctly not asked. See the policy > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/555299-medical-will-expire-before-the-aos-interview/?p=7703568
You now have 2 choices: 1) Send them a copy of the USCIS policies, state your case that you are not required to get a new medical, and risk denial. 2) Comply, get the new medical and get your green card approved.
From what it looks like, it will be better just to get a new medical and send it in. I guess we are just one of the unlucky ones in this case. Thank you so much for your response!
-
We sent in her G3025 form and that examination was on Oct.5 2015 so it should still be okay...Do know a number that maybe i can contact regarding that RFE? Or once you get a RFE you basically have to do what they are asking for? When you said you sent the one she received from her K1 do you mean the complete package, or just the immunization record form G3025? Most K1s do not have a copy of the complete I693 medical from the K1 as it is in the sealed envelope that is surrendered to CBP upon arrival. Beyond that, you need to look at the date of the first medical done in Norway, it will only be good for 12 months (your timeline shows a K1 approval in November 2015, was the medical done right before the interview, or some time before that), or the possibility that the local USCIS office did not get the POE package with the K1 medical. If it is the latter, not sure what you can do other than to comply with the RFE, it can be a pain, but necessary.
Good Luck!

Hello VJ peeps,
My wife just received a letter stating that she needs a medical examination but we sent in the one she got in Norway from the K-1 visa. Has anyone had this experience before? We need help on this!! How can I contact the USCIS about this matter? Any information would be great. We really don't want to spend the money again on one

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know what website we can check for our AOS status? We have already received our NOA1 and went to the biometic appointment. what's the next step to wait for?
-
We will be using a Co-sponsor and my questions is that, that person has to show proof of being a U.S citizen. Can i just send in her birth certificate or do i need to send in a copy of a passport page? what happens if she does have a passport.
-
is it okay if my cover letter is 2 pages instead of 1? Everything wont fit into 1 page
-
Yes i had my interview in November last year and i went back to Norway without my passport. I only had my bank card with my information on it but i didn't have to show anything when i got back. So you should be okay with your IDAnyone successfully travelled back to Norway (by plane) without a passport after their interview in Stockholm lately? I know it's supposed to be ok, but must admit it's quite stressful. I have my Norwegian drivers license as ID, nothing else.
-
Thank you for the quick reply and that what i will put
-
Hello VJ peeps,
i am currently filling out the I-131 for my wife. it's asking for the date of intended departure and how long she will be gone for. if she is not going anywhere soon what do i put for those 2 questions?
-
Hello fellow VJ Peeps,
When i fill out the I-485 form. Would i use my new married name? Would there be a problem because the tax returns and W-2 that i will send in have the name i'm using now.
-
After we get married in California, the marriage license takes about 6-8 weeks before it will get mailed out to us. My questions is how are we suppose to file for AOS before the 90 days is up without that marriage license? Do we have to wait to get the marriage license in hand before we can file? How long did other people have to wait for their ML? Any information will be good! Thank you!
-
To begin with, I'd like to congratulate both of you.
I assume you are the USC and your partner is the beneficiary.
Since the apllication is about your partner, you will only need her passport bio page . (also the visa page)
After entering the USA your partner and you should get married withing 90 days and your fiance (now spouse) should and must file i-485 for adjustment of status.
The most reliable information you might get is on USCIS website. Here is the link for instuctions how to file i-485.
http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf
You can see the checklist for supporting documents here.
An important reminder, the petitioner of a i-485 form is the foreign partner (beneficiary). This might be confusing since the petitioner for i-129f was the USC.
Thank you for the information, it helps out a lot and congrats to both of you as well Yes i am the USC

Hello my fellow VJ peeps,
My fiancee is finally here in the US on the K1 visa. We will be getting married in January 2016 and then filling for AOS. if anyone can help us out with a checklist for putting together the package, that would be great! i have seen an couple of checklists already and the only thing that worries me is the Financial require documents that i need to send in. I've seen that i would have to send a copy of "my" passport (Bio page) but i don't have a passport. Is this a requirement?? Can someone please let me know!!
-
Thanks...hopefully she'll get her's by this FridayI got "issued" on a Tuesday afternoon and got the pick-up notice for the passport on the following Monday.
-
After our status says "issued" on the Website. Does everyone know about how many days my fiancee should get her passport? She lives on Norway
-
You should send them an email. They respond to that either the same day or that day after.I never got ac call back after leaving a voicemail.
-
Thank you!nice
Hope the best for you
Thank you!!Congrats hon!!
