  1. Having my case sent to a supervisor at the NVC helped me. It had been over a month that I completed the DS-260 and still hadn't heard anything back from the NVC. We called after 35-40 days after and supervisor Molly really worked wonders with our case. A week within speaking with her, my case was completed. Is that all that the NVC needs to do - review your DS-260? Or do they need to review your civil documents as well? I had sent my civil documents via email the same time that I sent the AOS documents.

    Hi thanks for replying.

They have already reviewed my DS260, because i remember calling them and a lady reviewed it on the phone, and my ds260 was sent way back in August. I guess I'm only waiting for them to review my Civil Documents. I sent it on the 28th of Oct. And they recieved it on the 30th, that should be my scan date right?. But ever since then, i haven't heard anything. Last time i called, the lady said it should be reviewed by now, but for some reasons she doesn't know why, that she will have to send it to a supervisor to review it, and that was the biggest mistake i made. Now, when i called today, they said i have to wait for at least 42 days.

It does hurt...to know that i have to wait for another 42 days after waiting for 30days. **sad***

  2. Hi everyone. I am one of those people that still hasn't gotten a cc yet.

My scan date is 30th oct. I called and they said they will have to move it to a supervisor, that was one big mistake i made. I heard when your case is being moved to a supervisor, that it takes forever.

Please let me know if you are still waiting or you are on a supervisor review as well. Thanks

Wishing everyone best of luck. It is going to be over soon.

  3. Hi Guys, please i need some advise in regards to AOS.

My husband might not be fully eligible to sponsor me and we find it hard to get a joint sponsor since most of his friends are med students like him.

So i was wondering since i have some savings/ asset, can i add that up to make up for the requirements. Do i need to cash my savings into his account?

I have like $15000 plus asset. He used everything he had for his school and he is the kind that finds it hard to ask people for help when it comes to things like this, especially when its a long time commitment. I hope you understand my point. I don't want to push him. So my only option is to put in what i have.

And also do you guys know how much is the requirement with one household which is me, and will his lil sisters be calculated as a part of his household?

    Please i need your advises.

    Thank you.

  4. Hi,

Can someone please help me out with these dumb questions.

    1. I just logged in on the nvc website for the first time with the case/IIN number and on the Webpage is the instruction for the AOS Fee. Under the AOS Fee is my Husband's name, the amount ($120) and a select check box. Am i suppose to check the box to make the necessary payment?

    2. I live in Canada, is it okay for me to make the payment with my Canadian card? My Husband is super busy/struggling with his final year in med. school so i really do want to handle things myself to avoid him being distracted from his future career. Well, not that he won't be helping but things like this, I'm sure i can handle it myself.

    Thanks

  5. Hi Guys, its been awhile. How is everyone doing here. I know some people are almost done with the whole process. Well, you deserve a happy ending...i wish everyone here best of lucks and to those of us that are still battling to get to the end, don't worry...its all definitely going to end soon.

Please i have a question. We just received our case number and invoice number today. Please can someone tell us what the next step is. We also forgot to give them our emails so they can email us the packages i.e according to the wiki link. Should we call them back tomorrow to give them our emails. Please a step by step easy guide will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

    Thanks

  6. Congratulations Kaka26, I found a link somewhere in visajourney which walks you through all the steps. Take a look at the following:

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut#4._Getting_your_NVC_number

I can provide you summary based on my understanding because I just went through all this like a month and half ago.

NVC will take about 15 to 20 days to receive your case and record it in their system. They will than assign NVC case number and Invoice ID number. Afterwards they will send you a letter.

The total amount of time it took for me to actuall receive the letter after USCIS had sent the case to NVC was 1 month and 14 days.

What I could recommend is, call NVC after 20 days and try to get your case number and invoice ID number. Because for some reason, NVC takes long time to actually mail out the letter with instructions.

After you receive the NVC case number and invoice ID number, you should proceed to www.ceac.gov website and complete DS-261 form, Pay AOS fees and submit Affidavit of support documents.

This is where my case is at right now and I am working on the documents.

    Thanks

    Thank you so much.

  7. Hi Guys. Please we need your advice. We just got our RFE and they requested we send them a copy of our Original Marriage License. So we were wondering if we should add an additional evidence or should we just send them what they had requested. My husband thinks its ideal to just send them what they need. And i told him since we didnt send any evidence from the very beginning, isn't it better to add some stuffs in with the RFE. Please we just need your advice. Thank you.

  8. Sounds like my lawyer would say...

I am stressed as well due to similar situation except my I130 is already submitted with just copy of marriage certificate. So now praying really hard....

Over course of dealing with immigration lawyer, I would say, it's your application and you can be a little firmer about what you want submitted. Don't just politely ask for advice but say you want such and such to be included in your package. You pay him and he should at least have that in consideration. It's not like you are omitting stuff or asking to put stuff that goes against you. I don't say include a book, but some evidence can't hurt. I wish I'd listened to my own advice. I should have learned from past experiences that sometimes lawyers screw you up with their "I know more" attitude. A lot of people's experience can't be wrong....

For me...all I can do is wait. For you, ask that he include some more stuff so that you are comfortable as the I130 form does state that evidence of bonafide marriage should be included....

    Good Luck.

Please I'm in the same situation. My husband submitted our petition with no evidence just the marriage certificate. So please tell me, what did they request of you. And how did it go? I'm super worried and need to hear from you asap. Thank you.

  9. Sorry guys. Our PD is 27th Jan. We got a notice yesterday (24th June) for an additional evidence. Meanwhile my husband said he didnt add any evidence at the initial application phase. Hopefully we don't know what they want, we pray its not something difficult. To be honest, I'm fed up with all this. I'm here struggling and preparing for my MCAT, and my husband is almost losing his mind as well as someone who's in his final year med. school. This process is not just easy at all..and we haven't even gotten to the NVC stage yet. Its scary. Hopefully by God's grace, we get the hard copy of RFE Soon. Thanks Guys.

  10. Please guys, we need your advise. We just got a notice of additional evidence. Well, when my husband submitted the application, he didnt add any evidence. He just told me that he didnt think it was required. I am also mad at him but you know he said he didnt think it was very much needed.

So please, what should we send them. And how long do we have to mail them the evidence. I am so sad right now. :(
