I have started answering DS 260 via online with my husband and we encounter questions that our answers is not enough due to unavailable space like for my mailing address if i will write the complete address or can we just use the PO BOX of my husband for our mailing address for us both? One more the telephone number if can we use mobile phone same number if telephone line is not available, because leaving it blank will not allow us to the next section. The same for city or staten/ province , my parents both born in province but why need to answer the city to complete family section. In section family spouse what does it mean sane as intended US address? And is it advisory to describe husband with many words or just specify the occupation is enough? Im working as a nurse here in middle east and going to Philippines only for my vacation which address is best to use since i don't have a secure address here im thinking to use my resistance add in philippines. I also want to know if the address line 2 can use to complete my whole address? I wished to finish all the requirements please help!

hello empress my husband went to the website after completing DS261 after 3 days but it's the same. We just talked just now and he told me he received the mail and its different from the email. It says something like we have to pay ..

Hi Empress. I want to correct the days from the day we chose the agent ..it's been 20 days now. Im still waiting for any response because maybe we are only confused or scared to go to the next step. Some saying to pay some are saying to wait for the mail. Better to confirm before making any decisions. I hope someone there to help.

What PAOSF and ACL means? When we received the welcome letter with nvc case number and invoice id number. Is this means we can pay already or do we need to wait for a mail before proceding to the next which is to pay because it's been 118 days already and still no mail. Can we proceed to online payment without this mail. Affidavit support fee invoice also included in the welcome letter (PAOSF) IS this mean maybe we can pay already and use the invoice id given to us. Thank you.

They say your agent should return in 3-5 days to pay the fees but they also say to allow 15 days for them to process the DS-261 choice of agent form before the next step which is to pay the fees... It's very confusing.?

Another question

Why is there a fee for affidavit of support? It's not about money but more of wiki purposes of course. Suggestion: they will review the affidavit and take the fee for spending time on it?

Should the affidavit and financial documents be submitted before paying The Affidavit of Support Fee?

If yes where and how to submit?

When I chose my husband as the agent there was a notice "thank you.... ..... In 3-5 business days your agent should return to this website and, after signing in with the Case Number, and the Invoice Identification Number pay the fee(s) due by clicking the Fee Payment button and following the instructions given."

But before I chose the agent there was another notice "Please allow 15 days for the NVC to process your DS-261 before continuing to the next step"

And below a blue button with a text saying : NEXT STEP: PAY FEES

My question is when to pay the fees and what fees first?

They say your agent should return to this website and sign in.... But where is the sign in page? If he signs in on the page where I paid the fees, it will reset the clock as per the wiki:

Important note: Once you fill in the DS-261 and it shows as complete, do NOT go back into the DS-261 as it will re-set the date and start the clock all over again for ~30 business days.

So the question is where to sign in to pay the fees?

Shall we pay after we received the mail or independenly from receiving the mail. The bill invoice is for whay? For the one to pay on line in 3-5 days?

The instructions is to send photocopies is this means no need to notarized by lawyer? Why others says they send the original birth certificate. Please help! Should we notarized our documents? Thank you.

It's like 7 months before we received the email from NVC

How about documents that are translated in English, can we also submit the photocopies only. Me and my husband marry here in Kuwait and our marriage contract translated in English if we can only send the photocopies and keep the original english version with us because if we went to another translator and bring on the day of interview they might noticed from different translator. Thank you so much. We both agree that it's better if he my husband will be the agent. We just received email again of confirmation and we need to wait 3-5 days and go to the same website for payment to continue processing the form DS-261 or our immigrant application. How long we will be going to wait before we can send our documents because i think i need to get the police clearance as well from Philippines because im working abroad and im going for vacation next month.

We just received an email from NVC i want to know what is the next step. Im the beneficiary, i want yo ask about signing in for consular electronic application center. It says to choose an agent-- is it best if my husband acts the agent since he is the one in USA? How about the requirements listed is it necessary to send the original copies or photocopies are enough?

Finally we got the case number. I open this website https://ceac.state.gov.ceac/and check our status and i read that we our going to receive a mail with instructions and to follow this instructions. My husband called the nvc and told about the changed of his address. He also send them a letter regarding the new mailing address. The last time he called he was told that that our file was not processed yet and they he is not going to received a mail yet because it's not started yet to process. So is that mean the status checking is not reliable? If my husband change his address is it possible that it's going to be in his old address in case it's true that the nvc send him a mail.Now, we don't know where to start again or better wait for the mail.?

Hello to all thank you for you're all reply! Finally my husband was able to contact the nvc and gave him 3 letters followed by ten digits. Is that means accepted? How long again we have to wait and what next we have yo do?

My husband calls many times the nvc but no luck. I even tried but only answering machine. He even email but no response as well. It's really upseting...
