I reached US 2 months back and paid my immigration fee after coming here.

I haven't received my green card yet.I am not sure how to follow up. I lost the receipt number but I have an email confirmation with me about the payment.Please Help!!

I paid 165 usd immigration fee after coming to the US. However, I lost the receipt I got after paying the fee. I was told that the receipt number from the receipt will help me find the status of my green card . Is there any other way I can find out my 13 digit receipt number? Is it the same number as what uscis assigned during the i130,petition stage?

My visa got approved and am waiting to fly in a week.

However i have to pay the immigrant fee .while registering for the same, the webistr asked for A-number .Entered the one which is mentioned in my immigrant visa packet.but the website reports it as invalid number.

Please help!!!!

What is the procedure to apply for SSN after the visa is approved? (CR1)

I had marked it in the DS-260 form that i will be needing the SSN.

How much time does it take for the SSN card to be issued and where will it be delivered? (The address of my petitioner or the permanent address marked for green card delivery)

For my 730 am interview, reached the consulate at 615am. There were too many people already though. We were segregated accordibg to our interview time. I was let in @730 ( appointment was at 730) all of us were given token numbers. At the first interview, an Indian lady checked all my originals and asked for few more financial proof s of my petitioner. After that she asked very basic questions about me, my petitioner etv, what does my husband do etc. I was asked to read a pamphlet on domestic violence given by this lady. Had another interview with an American guy. He took finger prints on the finger printing machine and asked me questions like what do I do , if I have any of my relatives there, my petitioner s name ( very basic questions) . he asked me to read the oath too. Then he said the golden words VISA APPROVED!!))) I was on cloud nine and had no words. Finally after such a process, light at the end of the tunnel! he gave me a slip which said visa approved and the next steps. I came out beaming and totally unaware of everything around me, floating in my own blissful state .:)I can't thank visa journey enough for the support and guidance I have got in almost every stage. It felt like a family. Thank you so so much Visa journey and the wonderful members in it.

I wish all of you waiting for the visa the very best of luck. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it's definitely worth the wait!

My petitioner shifted to a new place in between the case complete and interview scheduling time.

The medical reports have the new address and the interview letter has the old address.

Will this cause any issues ? PLease help!

Our case got completed on June 30 and we got the interview schedule letter on July 15 .

Our interview is scheduled for August 13 th.

Medical examination takes one whole day and medical reports take a day or two ( to be given to you be hand)

Medical examination costs depends on the type of vaccines which are suggested to you( if you don't have your vaccine record) .The range varies from 4k to 8k totally.

Do we need petitioner's original birth certificate during interview?or a copy is good enough?

Completed my biometrics and medical. Biometrics did not need any medical reports. It was quick check on ds 260 confirmation form, passport,photo s and finger prints

I have scheduled medical examination and biometrics one day after another .

When i had a re-look at the biometrics appointmer confirmation mail, The mail says this:

Do i have to take all these documents specified in the immigrant visa for the biometrics?

I have my visa interview in Mumbai,India on Aug 13.

Can I schedule my Biometrics in Hyderabad,India (a different location and Not Mumbai) ??Or Do i have to schedule my biometrics in the same location as my visa interview location ?

Also,How long does biometrics and fingerprinting take ?
