Hello Everyone:
We had a successful AOS interview today at the Los Angeles office. It was pretty straight forward. It took us only 25 minutes total.
If anyone has any specific questions, I will love to answer them.
Thank you everyone for all the help.
Once again we sincerely appreciate all the help.
With Regards,
Mr. and Mrs. ET

Thanks for your reply. I think we have all the documents we may need for the interview. We have a joint checking account and thousands of pictures. We also have copies o emails, invitation cards for the marriage and receptions. What type of questions did the immigration officer asked you? Were they more personal questions or about family?
Any tips you may offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
ET

Hello Everyone,
I have been VJ member for almost a year now. Finally my wife's AOS interview is scheduled for 10/24/2006 in Los Angeles. Did anyone have their AOS interview done in Los Angeles? Are their any specific things we should watch out for or be aware of? We have all the necessary documents but those immigration officers are capable of throwing a curve ball at you. I would appreciate any tips and 'watch outs'
Thank you everyone

Thank you all for your replies. I also figured that she wouldn't need medical but wanted to know what people who already been thru the process did.
Thanks again,

Hello Everyone,
My wife entered US on K3 visa and we are adjusting her status now. We just received interview date and one of the required documents is a completed Medical exam. She already had her medical exam in India in May of 2006. With our AOS petition, we did send out Vaccination supplement (693A). Does she need Medical exam again? Has anyone dealt with similar situation? Any help will greatly be appreciated.

judging from what i have read in various postings in here, since her medical is less than a year old at the time you filed for AOS, she doe s not need another full blown medical.

I went yesterday for mine and all I took was my passport and birth certificate. The lady did ask for my drivers license. She made copies of my visa, I-94, birth certificate, and drivers license, than comment on how she thougth it was an Alabama license so I guess it was no good to her.
Did you get your SSN ?

My wife arrived on July 8th on K3 Visa. Immigration officer wrote her A # on the passport and on the I-94 form. Now can we apply for SSN with that information or we would still need the EAD?
Thanks

My wife entered the US last week on a K3 visa. We had terrible time dealing with the people at the US embassy in New Delhi and i don't want to send her back for her IR-1/CR-1 interview. Is there any deadline by which AOS applications must be filed? Her I-130 petition at the NVC and we just send back choice of agent form and paid the AOS bill.
Any help will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for your response. I am also leaning towards CR1 as the time it takes for AOS to be processed can be very lengthy. I am not worried too much about her flying back for the interview.
Thanks again for your reponse.

K3 petition for my wife is alerady been processed by the overseas consulate and our I-130 was just approved yesterday. We are expecting interview date sometime in June for the K3 visa. Is it better to send her back to the native country for her CRL processing or we should file AOS after she comes to US. Any input would greatly be appreciated. I want to find out all the pros and cons of both approaches before making the decision.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Indian post system is not just slove it is very slow. Our K3 packet 3 was mailed by the Delhi Consulate on April 18 and we still have not recieved it.

Anyone had their K3 petition processed at the New Delhi Consulate???
-
Salwapasserby, you already got your I-130 approved which is better than K3. I would take that over K3 any day. However, I understand your frustration. I went thru that too and it is not fun.
Good Luck to Everyone

Processing dates changed today but K3 is still stuck on Feb 6. We went thru that not too long agao when thery were stuck on Jan 30 forever. Hang in there people. There is always a day at the end of a night.

When I called NVC, i was told that my file was at NVC for only few days and they mailed via DHL to the US consulate in New Delhi. However, I have not recieved any written confirmation from them yet.
pharmacist you should call them and find out. Seems like it's a bit too long by now.
Good Luck
