    Thanks KASH2011. My oath ceremony was yesterday in Nashville, TN. It was a great experience. There were 60 people from 30 different countries. We had to be there at 7:30am and were done by 9:30am with the ceremony itself taking about 30 minutes. Each one of us had to stand up, say our name and country of citizenship to the judge. Then he gave a little speech about being a citizen, the responsibilities and duties that come with that - which was very nice! Then of course came the oath of allegiance and also the pledge of allegiance. After that, we all got in a line to receive our certificate of naturalization and to shake the judges hand. I am so glad that this process is over - it's been 10 years almost in the making for me - and wish all of you still waiting good luck!

    Congrats Jeepers!!! I was just going to drop you a little note...but I see your oath letter finally arrived :)

    I think you mean me...? :) Yes, I called on 10/5 to request a status update - they put me on hold for 30 minutes! - and then they said I should wait another 30 days if I don't receive the letter by then to call back. Lo and behold, later that day my status changed! I think they lost or misplaced my application and when I called they found it.... Oh well, glad this will be over soon!

    After waiting since 8/4 and my status changing online to interview will be scheduled on 8/21, it finally changed to Oath Letter sent on 10/5 and I receive the letter in the mail on 10/8. Two applicants from the June board that also filed at TSC and had their interviews in Memphis are already citizens - not sure why mine took so much longer. Anyways, better late than never - my oath is scheduled for 10/29 :joy: We are also in the process of moving right before that.... Haha! I have been here 9 years and we have not moved and right before the very end, we move. So I guess I get to fill out one more form for the USCIS before it's all said and done.

    Congrats to all who've already had their oath ceremony and good luck to those still waiting!

    Mine said 60-90 days as well. The then following letter/status change stated 45 days. Did you sign up online to check your status process? Sometimes things change on there without notifying you

    (and at like weird hours of the night, I received an email that I was scheduled for Oath at like 1.17AM, and not once; no 4 times... lol!)

    I would call. Keeping my fingers crossed and sending good vibes to you!

    Online it says last update 8/21:

    We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC*XXXXXXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    I did call also and they basically told me the same thing....that it has been mailed sometime after 8/21 but that they can't do anything until 30 days after that date and for me to call back then if I don't have the letter.

    Check my timeline, I am in Nashville, had to do the interview in Memphis (8/7)

    Just received my letter for Oath, that will be in Nashville end of September.

    wondering why yours is taking longer?

    I have been following your timeline since you filed in Memphis as well - my interview was 8/4 and I don't have a letter yet. Now, I'm getting a bit worried since you both had your interview after me and are getting the oath letter first. There were no issues - I was told by the interviewer that I passed and got the letter confirming that I passed and he said it would 60-90 days..... Did you receive your letter this week? What date is your interview? (I don't see it on there yet)

    I have been following your posts too...my oath ceremony will be in Memphis. Weird you are yet to receive yours. The lady who interviewed me told me Memphis office was current on oath ceremony scheduling...I know it sucks to wait but am sure it will come :)

    Yes, I just read your pm you sent me a month ago yesterday...sorry, never noticed I had a message :oops:

    My interview will most likely be in Nashville as I live here. I've been following the June board because I noticed two Memphis Service Center filers on here and none on the May board. Hopefully I will get my letter soon. They did say 60-90 days which is not up yet. The waiting game is definitely no fun - so ready for this to be over with. Congrats on getting your oath ceremony scheduled - I will check back and see how it went after the 25th.

    Hey all,

    I had my interview yesterday at 11am at the Memphis Office. It was super fast and easy. Go there at 10:45am and was called in by the immigration officer at 11:15. I had to stand and swear that I will say nothing but the truth and then right away he went over all the questions of the N-400 application. He didn't make any conversation and was very cut and dry but friendly. After we were done confirming my answers from the N400, I signed the application and the photos I had sent in. Then he gave me a piece of paper and asked me to read sentence #1 which was "Who elects Congress?". After that he had me write down "The people elect Congress." and that was it for the English portion. He then went right into the civics questions and asked me:

    1 Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

    2 Who is Commander in Chief?

    3 What are the two major political parties of the U.S.?

    4 What is the current president's political party?

    5 Name one state that borders Mexico?

    6 Name three of the 13 original colonies?

    After that, he said I passed and he was recommending me for approval. He also gave me a paper that stated the same in writing. He said it would be between 60-90 days until my oath ceremony and then walked me out. From the moment I got called in to walking back out was under 10 minutes.

    It was a breeze and nothing to worry about!

    My interview is tomorrow at 11pm in Memphis, TN.

    I am applying based on marriage but I've lived here in the US for 9 years. Here's what I'm bringing with me to the interview:

    -Interview Letter

    -Green Card

    -My Swiss Passport
    -Marriage Certificate
    -Husbands Birth Certificate and Passport
    -Husbands Divorce Decree
    -Kids Birth Certificates and Passports
    -Tax Transcripts last 3 years
    -Life Insurance Policy showing Husband as Beneficiary
    -Utility Bill showing both our names
    -Bank Statements showing joint checking and savings accounts

    Anything missing? Is that enough evidence?

    Dependent Children Financial Support Info

    Hi all,

    I am hoping to file my N400 Application (based on marriage) within the next few weeks but have two questions regarding Dependent Children:

    Facts:

    I have 3 step-children. They do not live with us. Two of them are dependents i.e. we support them financially (one is grown). None of my step-children are claimed as dependents on our most recent tax return.

    Questions:

    When we filed I-751, we did not disclose my husband's children b/c we assumed only biological children should be listed. Will this be a problem when filing N400 since it clearly states to list step-children?

    In the checklist it says to send supporting documentation for dependent children who do not live with you. Do I have to send this (since - legally speaking only - they are my husband's (US citizen) financial responsibility)?
