  1. Children born from a marriage most certainly aid in proving a bonafide relationship. Especially once the child is born and your husbands name is put on the birth certificate. I work for an immigration attorney and sending the BC's of children born to a couple filing a petition or adjustment of status is a must because of the weight it carries. I do have a friend that filed a for a K-1 fiance visa and was pregnant by her fiance at the time and she claims it had no bearing on the outcome of her approval so I don't know about how it works with K-1s.

I filed the K1 last year and he got denied in December 2014. We got married in January and soon after that I found out I was pregnant. Now I have filed the I130, I do hope it carries some weight because I have not really lived with him since we got married except for that 1 month I spent with him after the wedding. Planning to go visit him at the end of July for 2 weeks and we can take pics of us together with the pregnancy

  2. Pictures from a wedding prove a wedding, not a marriage. Usually the fact that a wedding took place is not in question, that is not what the purpose of providing "bonafides" is. The purpose is to prove that there is a real relationship. A child for whom her spouse has claimed paternity absolutely goes towards showing that the relationship is legitimate.

You can always send in more things at the NVC stage, and I think that it would be worth sending in the Drs report and a signed statement accepting paternity. (If the child is already born and both parents names are on the birth certificate that works too.)

I was planning on getting the Doctor's report but I did not think of the signed statement from him accepting the paternity. Thanks for mentioning that; I will have that statement ready too.

    Thank you

  3. I filed the I130 for my husband. I currently have a temp to permanent job that meets the 125% poverty guidelines. But I am still planning to use my brother and his wife as joint sponsor just to be on the safe side. Will I have to pay 1,2 or 3 fees to file the affidavit of support (me, my brother and his wife)? I know I am way ahead of the game but I am trying to make sure that I have all the funds needed so as not to cause any delay when the time comes.

    Thank you

  4. Hi I am currently 4 months pregnant. I just sent in my I 130 application and I received notice that they accepted the application and they gave a receipt number. For proof of bona fide relationship and marriage, I sent Western union transfer history, chat logs, wedding pictures, Proof of visits to Haiti. It was not until I after I mailed the application that I realized that I should have sent a doctor's report stating I am pregnant and my conception date.... Will I get a chance to send this information at some point, I would like for them to have it before an interview is granted or maybe that might help expedite my case.

P.S. My husband was denied the k1 visa at the interview ( they said they did not believe there was a relationship even will all the info I sent them)

  5. Can anyone tell me how to erase my k1 visa timeline so I can add my IR1/CR! timeline. I did the k1 visas last year but my fiance got the denied the visa when he went to the interview We've gotten married and I just submitted the I130 petition and I received notice today that they have and they gave me a tracking number. I would like to be able to create a timeline for it so I can kind of see how long it might take.

    Thanks
