Less than a week for me. I didn't get a notification when my interview was scheduled, but my status showed my interview was scheduled on Nov. 10, and I got the letter on Nov. 15.

I'm applying based on the three-year rule. Besides what the letter explicitly asked for (passport, marriage certificate, etc.), I also brought three years of tax return transcript and our lease agreement. But the officer who interviewed me only looked at my green card and driver's license, not even passport.

Thanks for your answer. I had my interview on 1/17 and my status is still "interview scheduled".

Got my interview letter! Interview date is 1/17 next year.

I guess the "In ltr" date is supposed to be the notice date on the letter? I got the letter today but the date printed on it is 11/10.

so you never had the "in line for interview"? went straight to testing and interview?

lucky you!

My understanding is I'm in line for interview now. The update says "If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview." It has been less than a week since my fingerprint, so it's pretty fast. I see several other people with similar timelines though.

How long does it usually take from the time they approved until the card arrived?

My case was approved on 1/21 and card arrived on 1/29.

USCIS e-request is completely useless. I submitted an e-request online on USCIS website about a week ago. I mentioned that my case is outside the posted processing times. Today they answered me that the processing of my petition is within their current processing time But how come? Where can we find their current processing times?

For I-751, just choose CSC or VSC under Service Center and click on "Service Center Processing Dates".

My husband had his bio today and all they wanted to see was his green card. The guy asked for it. Not for ID but for his Green Card.

I had the same experience at my biometrics appointment.

You don't need to fill in the "in care of" box if you're the one who receives the mail, but you do need to fill out the address.

IMO you don't need to worry about most of the things you listed. Many couples don't wear wedding rings, don't change the wife's name, and/or don't have children (my husband and I don't and will never do any of these simply because we don't like to). These things aren't necessary to prove a bona fide marriage. Having utility bills in only one spouse's name or only one spouse working is also quite common. The only unusual thing about your case is not having the green card and the marriage license (I suppose you mean marriage certificate?), but given the extreme circumstance it should be understandable. I submitted medical powers of attorney, but after seeing how easy it is to do it, I had similar wonders. In some states it doesn't cost anything to create medical POA, and if you change your mind, you can just create a new one. So it seems really easy to fraud. However, I do think it's an important document to have in case one of us ends up unconscious or something, and if I hadn't read the advice here, I wouldn't have thought about it at all.

It's the same in my university. To apply for in-state tuition waiver, you have to be a US citizen or permanent resident in the first place, so they need to see your green card. You can ask if emailing them a scan would be enough.

Medical power of attorney may be very easy to create, depending on your state. I found a form from a health insurance website in my state, and we just had to fill it in and sign it (even witnesses are optional).
