1) Most Republicans are not opposed to legal immigration only to rewarding those who have contravened the laws and are now being granted amnesty while those of us who follow the laws are left to suffer. Amnesty is unfair to people who choose to follow the laws and also creates perverse incentives. My family would have been better off if my wife had broken the law and we stayed in the US (rather than moving to London 9 years ago).

2) To the person who posted that there is no such thing as an illegal person: we are not saying that the person is illegal as a human begin; we are saying that they are in the US illegally.

Congratulations! I hope that soon I can also add to the success stories on this fourm. Can you tell me 1) did you file locally (London consulate) or through a US service center and 2) how long did the process take from filing i-130 to receiving the visa? Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone knows what the current processing times from filing if i-130 to interview is in the London consulate for spuse (IR1, CR1) visas? We filed our i-130 on 20th March and are waiting for a case number. God what a difficult process. Makes me regret being a US citizen.
