  1. I imagine it's the actual file that is now at the embassy. I tracked mine via DHL and it was signed for at the embassy yesterday and today my case is Ready.

My "sent" date was July 31. I was never able to track my package on dhl but my case is now "ready" at the consulate. From July 31 to August 4 (today), the only shipment going to my fiance's country was departed today and to be delivered on August 6 (2 days from now). Is it weird? :)

  2. Just for curiosity, I found 71 cases for my country (Vietnam) for the day that my case was assigned a number. A case specialist at NVC confirmed my package was sent to the embassy on July 31. My case is now "in transit" and all other 70 ones are still "at NVC". I have tried the DHL tracking trick without success. Could anyone explain this? Thank you in advance.

    I tried this:

    EXP 31 JUL 2015A

    DATE RANGE: JULY 31 - AUGUST 3, 2015

    DESTINATION: VIETNAM

  3. I see this status on the USCIS website regarding my case:

Case Was Sent To The Department of State

On July 22, 2015, we sent your case, Receipt Number #..., to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Does it mean we can call the NVC now for a case number? Thanks.

if it says that you just have to hang up and re-dial until you get the other message that tells you to hold.

    Thanks for the tips

  4. I can see where you are coming from, but my only issue with that is some people who filed in December are already being pushed through, and my own lawyer has said that it will come through any day.

    I can only hope though.

Believe it or not, I did ask the uscis guy that same question. According to him, those cases were expedited for specific reasons. Not sure what the reasons are. I do hope it will happen much sooner than mid-Sept, too.

  5. I think the VJ estimates are on point though. Looking at all the data that is out there, I am thinking it is any day. My issue is that the USCIS wont even talk to us. Which i find is really annoying

I talked to a guy at uscis on the phone yesterday and he basically said the same, something like "your case is still in the normal timeline, which means it will be processed within the next 2.5-3 months."

  6. Here is what my laywer said:

, here are some figures about recent processing at the TSC:

    Report

Published Date As Of Date Working on cases with notice date of:

    06/15/15 04/30/15 10/08/14

    05/12/15 03/31/15 09/18/14

    04/13/15 02/28/15 08/23/14

    03/06/15 01/31/15 08/02/14

As you can see from the above dates, in roughly 3 months of published reports, they have processed slightly over 2 months worth of cases (cases with notice dates of August 2 up through cases with notice dates of October 8th). That's how I came up with my guess about your case being processed in three more months. Your notice date is mid December, so if this trend continues to hold and they process slightly over two more months worth of cases over the next 3 months of published reports, then they should be processing cases with mid-December notice dates by around mid September.

  7. Just wanted to say that for an unmarried US mother, you need to prove you were in the US for one continuous year (Harder than it sounds, from my experience) 5 years/2 after 14 is for unmarried father, or married US citizen/alien spouse.

Anyway, OP sounds like you have figured out your plans... best of luck!

Thanks. I really wanted to go back to be with him through this process but I am afraid it will affect my business, which also means my K-1 sponsorship will be at risk.

A visa granted in August will be wonderful. I do really hope so.

  8. Additional, this gives me a bit of hope. If you look at the processing times for Texas you will see by the end of February they were processing applications for the end of August. Give or take a little it has seemed they generally process one month in a month. So that would mean March=September, April=October, May= November, and June= December. I pray every night and cross my fingers that I am somewhat close to the "end"

I am with you 100% in this situation. It is very stressful and...sad, especially when you come to the doctor's office for a checkup seeing all other women in the waiting room escorted by their husbands.

I had never heard about the "doula" service until I opened this topic. I will look into it. Thanks,

Try to take care of yourself and the baby.

  9. Bring anything and everything you think you might even remotely possibly need, originals and all . I left the U.S. Four months ago when I was still at the Nebraska service center for my husbands spouse visa, we're now at the nvc step, I brought every paper I thought I could ever need with me .

I don't know if they will accept a printed copy with no "colorful" bank letterhead. Maybe a color printed copy will work? Also, they will ask for the most recent ones. By the time our case is considered, the original copies I bring will probably too old.

I am trying to stay positive... I think I will stay in the US and we will take one step at a time. I hope my fiance will get his visa soon. This process is really killing us.

    :)

  10. I felt emotionally it was better to be with my husband during it like most women yourself too probably will feel as well . I was the opposite when I flew really young 20, and had had a early miscarriage about 2 months before got pregnant again the month after, my flights to Jordan were while I was 10 weeks, 15, and lastly at 18 never went through machines and my flights were very long takes about 27 hrs of straight flying to get to Jordan . I had also flew to Egypt for a trip while I was 21-22 weeks And everything has been great I'll give birth next month and there are 0 problems with my pregnancy and the baby . Just to ease your mind about being pregnant and flying I was in the air almost the first half of mine it felt like haha .

It sounds very assuring. What happens if the TSC requests me to send something when I am in my home country, i.e. original copy of my bank statements?

  11. I'm in my husbands foreign country going to give birth next month it's not a hard process if it's the route you chose to go .

Everyone in my family does not want me to go back. They are afraid it will not be safe for the baby especially at my age (40) and I have a 10 years old son to take care of here in the US (He is splitting time with me and my ex-husband).

But perhaps I should go if I have no other choice.

  12. Hi racheal&david,

Were you in the US and going through the pregnancy and birth by yourself? Did you have any relative or family member here to support you through the whole process at that time? I find it very hard to deal with the situation by myself. My father does not speak English nor driving, so he pretty much depends on me on everything. If I go back to my home country to give birth to the baby, will it be difficult to get him an US passport/bringing him to the US?

    Thanks,

  13. I have a confusing case...

We filed for K-1 visa with the help from my immigration attorney, case receipt confirmed by TSC on December 15, 2014. Right after we filed for my fiancé’s visa, I was living with him in my home country for 3 months. One week after my return to the US, I surprisingly found out that I am pregnant. I am now 4 months pregnant living alone in the US with my 74 years old father whose tourist visa will expire in August. Our attorney did make a request for expedite visa processing on humanitarian basis which was denied by TSC. We have been waiting for NOA2 for nearly 5 months and I don't know when my fiancé will be able to get a visa. My expected due date is late October. As the baby is growing bigger every day, I really need him to be here with me as soon as possible.

It is too complicated for me to go back to my home country and give birth to the baby there. I have my business that needs my presence here in the US. And the 29 hour trip back to home with countless of security X-ray (?) checkpoints, 12 hour different time zone and climate just frightens me.

    What should I do?
