Hi, I was a student in the US and lived there for six years. Downside is I had H1B for a while then got laid off. My employ said they might hire me back but they didn't. I then moved to another city, out of status. They didn't report it. A year into my stay in the new city I got a new "job" (travel in between), new employer said would sponsor me but they paid me under the table. I did tell them my situation and showed all my IDs. Finally I decided to move back to China, right on the H1b expiration date. So the total out of status period was about 1.5 years. Now, I wanna visit a friend in the US. Shall I mention both employers in personal resume or it's not necessary? How to respond when VO asks? Shall I tell my old SSN number in DS160? Would my friend's invitation letter help or jeopardize? Much appreciate it. - Cherry

Ah thanks. Yeah I just didn't wanna make things complicated by volunteering unnecessary info.
