Getting a DL here in the States is pretty easy compared to Europe, i remember back in the days, it took me 6 months to get my DL in Italy. Here in the states 3 days! Just grab the book at the DMV learn the main things, the rest is just common sense. The road test is super easy, they don't even take you on the actual road. My road test was driving 5 minutes in an empty parking lot behind the dmv, in Italy i had to drive in the traffic for 30 minutes. You're gonna be fine!

The only thing you cannot get is a brand new phone and pay for it month by month since they need a SSN to verify your credit.

I understand, so the only way to get a non temporary DL is with a GC in my hand?

Hello guys, today i received my EAD. I already have a driver license because i was a F-1 therefore i was able to get one, the only thing is that it has "Temporary" printed on it. If i get a SSN can i go at the DMV to request a non temporary Driver License?

Hello, i got a case update from my Congressman's Office and the NBC told them that: "the I-485 application, Case XXXXXXXXXX filed by Mr. XXX was received on 3/24/15 and was placed into the interview scheduling queue for the Orlando Field Office (ORL) on 5/18/15."

What does that means?

You will need both. Wait till you have the EAD card in hand and go yo the local sos office and apply for your card once you have the number and the EAD you can accept work.

today my EAD was produced. Im a little bit confused tho, to be able to work do i just need the EAD or do i have to to SS office and ask for the SSN before i can start applying for jobs?
