Update: My husband he left yesterday to go to Lagos to drop off his passport at the DHL collection center. That's an 8 hour bus/car ride. He got there to late since the center closed at 4pm. Dang it.
So this morning he text me good morning said he was getting ready. Text here and there throughout the day. "Too many people, its hectic. Now trouble". Trouble I say, Now he just said to me an hour ago "Baby they rejected the drop off application and passport. Let me call you and explain".
My head is swirling I am sick to stomach all a sudden. Now I hear the beats (music thumpin) of his car. No way who is driving my hubbies car.
IT IS HIM. That sneaky man.
With the biggest smile he gets out the car. I knew I just got played.
Passport submitted yesterday he got there before 4pm. They gave him the papers where to pick up VISA in 10 days.
If I wasn't so happy and relieved I would kick his butt. LOL Love this man.
LOL! He got you!
Congratulations!

Thank you my dear. Yes I'm finding some stuff out for sure. Hope all is well with you and your husband? Were you allowed in embassy with your hubby? My husband will be here wanna know if he will be able to enter. Tks
Yes. I was allowed in. Just make sure your husband has his passport with him, they will ask for it at the front window.

Yes they are 12 13 and 16. When you go for yours please let me know if you had to get it. Tks
BZEGURL,
The medical fees are never quoted over the phone with the doctor in Belize. We called several times to get exact amounts so we knew how much we had to bring and every time, they told us they could only give an estimate because they don't know what you need until they see you in person. We also had to pay extra money for vaccinations. The Meningococcal vaccine is required and is something that you definitely want to have, as Meningitis can be deadly.

OP Have you read the I-130 instructions, it tells you what to submit? https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-130instr.pdf
We submitted, 3 affidavits, 2 from my husbands family/friends and 1 from my friend, it's one of the main points on the list of what to provide.
We also included pictures of trips together as well as our engagement and wedding, copies of postmarked cards from and to each other, documentation showing him as beneficiary on my 401k. As well, as trip itineraries naming us both at the hotels we stayed at.

All of you with recent visa approvals, remember to check the bottom of Dwheels76 first post in this forum/topic if you want to learn to be able to track the progress of your green card issuance after you pass by a POE. You need to open an ELIS account first, then pay the immigrant fee then your case will be loaded to your ELIS account for further tracking.
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/587554-case-complete-to-interview-april-2016/?p=8032069
I Sure wish I saw this information before we paid the fee. Do you know of any way to track the Green Card status after paying the fee?
Also just an FYI for everyone, we checked the the box on the DS-260 for social security card to be issued and received it in a week after POE.

Why to risk having a long AP for not fiscally declaring your marriage on your tax returns?
Besides there are monetary incentives to file MFS and using NRA as SSN and when the spouse obtains the SSN you can amend to MFJ and get more money back because the tax bracket is lower for MFJ. Read IRS Pub 17 for year 2015, page 22.
You are not risking AP, when you file head of household with dependents other than your spouse, you have the option to treat your spouse as a non resident. It's stated on the IRS guidelines for filing head of household. There is nothing wrong with filing this way. When your spouse becomes a permanent resident in 2016, then you will have to file differently, next year.

Congratulationnn !!! All the best on your new journey
Thank You!
Cool
BTW - Never use paperclip when dealing with government office.
Yes, I know now. I never ran into an issue with paperclips and a government office until this interview! Learn something new everyday.
Congrats! Enjoy your new life with hubby by your side
Thank you!

Good luck to everyone on your upcoming interviews and Congratulations to All who were recently approved.
My husband and I are finally home in the US !! POE was last night in Baltimore.
I just posted my Belizean embassy review, word of Funny advice, Do Not use paperclips on your documents in Belize. I had about 15 or so to keep documents sorted out and security had to remove every single one, as we just stood there and watched him. It really showed me how OCD I am about organization.
Also, I just wanted to say Thank you again to everyone for their help and support through this process.
Without VJ we would have never been as prepared as we were nor had such a smooth case.

Hi everyone,
I might have made a booboo. I filed my taxes in January but I filed as head of household. When I had filled out the tax papers at work, it says that if spouse lives out of the country to check single. So I thought I could also file the same way. I asked the accountant who did my taxes for and is aware of the immigration process I am undergoing and she said that filing as head of household and not as married filing separately or jointly should be fine since my husband is not in USA yet. She said that she dealt with cases like mine before and everything was fine for these people in the immigration process. Do you guys think that 's going to be an issue at the interview? I already requested the 2015 transcript for my husband to have at the interview but not to provide them to them unless they ask for it.
Comments are welcome.
Thank you and good luck everyone
I filed the same way, it's perfectly ok. Just bring everything with you incase the ask for it, in our case they did not ask for tax info but I was ready with it.
-
Congratulations. That's awesome.
Hey those getting interviews can you report back about Income Tax are they asking for 2015 yet?
They did not ask us for anything other than what was on our P4 letter.

16. 180, 4x6 photos in an album. These pictures can be removed if need be.
I don´t have pictures right now. - We don´t even have photo albums only online and digital.
But we have been married for 8 years and have 2 kids.
Can be much more connected then that
All of our pictures are also digital. I made a PowerPoint presentation with a bunch of our digital pics and printed it out.
I'll let you know after our interview on Tuesday how it worked out.
-
Good luck to both of you.
God bless you with visas.
Thank You !

Hi all
I need to ask you about this.
If it´s like some says that we can´t use/ask for this unless the case is at the Embassy, then i think we need to add that to the page.
For me it seems funny that the Embassy can´t contact NVC and ask them to forward the case.
NVC is done with it and has no need to hold it.
And if the Embassy has "spare" dates they can use, it will in my mind be for something like this.
So if some have had the luck with asking for a better date, pls let me and other know if:
- The case was at embassy
- If case was at NVC
Thanks.
Per advice on VJ, I waited until the embassy had my case, however, I had no luck in getting an earlier date.

Hello I just had my interview today and I was approved! They didn't ask for any additional documents from me. My final interview with the American consul took only 3 minutes, he didn't even asked for pictures together with my husband. Thank God! Thank you so much dwheels for helping us here and to all the members who helped me too from the beginning of our process. God bless us all.
Congratulations!

Yes, Mail is the only option now.

Happy February to everyone! I hope this month is generous to all of us and we can be with our beloved ones soon.
I just emailed Rio Embassy to check if they have an earlier interview date and now I'm so anxious. I'm actually more afraid of have gone wrong doing that but the most they can say to me at this point is no, right?
Fingers crossed that they do attend my request.
Good luck!
That's exactly right, the worse they can do is say no.
I also requested an earlier date and our embassy was full so they couldn't give me one. They just said they would keep the original date. No harm done.
Hi Vjers!!
I had my interview today in Lima-Peru: Visa approved!
Questions:
How I met my husband
How many people attend our wedding
How many times my husband visited me after the wedding
And photos...
Best wishes for everyone!
Congratulations!!

how do you print out chat history like whatapp and viber?
For whatsapp on iphone (not sure if its different for android)!you open the chat you want to print, click on the date/time at top of chat, this brings up contact/media info of the person your chatting with, go all the way to the bottom where it says email Chat, click that, then follow the prompts. It will email a text file to you that you can print.
Hope this helps!
