    CGI Reference Number (K-1 process)

    Hi All.

    Please help me on this as my Fiancee is not good in English and also she does not understand the K-1 process quiet.

    1. NOA2 was approved October 6th

    2. Got the Case# from NVC yesterday over the phone and gave it to her

    3. I've completed the DS-160 last night through online to interview in Dhaka, Bangladesh. DS-160 submission was successful and got the confirmation number (AA005XXXXQ) through email.

    4. She went to EBL (bank) where she can pay the visa fee but they require "CGI Reference Number". Without this CGI Ref# Bank (EBL bank in Dhaka, Bangladesh) will not accept visa fee . This is the one issue. I don't know where to get this CGI Ref#

    5. Do I have to schedule visa interview or Embassy will contact me as they should have the DS-160 already in their database.

    6. Once she pay the visa fee, then she will go for medical done in there right before visa interview. How do I know when the interview is.

    7. Please walk me through this process step by step as both I and my Fiancee are confused which step should be done when and how?

    I appreciate your help and contribution to this thread.

    Hello Friends,

    I submitted for my fiance(e) last March 3rd and approved today. Please help me by answering the following few questions as I don't like to make any mistake -

    1. When TSC will send my approved case to NVC or how long it may take to receive my approved case by NVC.

    2. Should I call NVC right now to see whether they receive my file from TSC and when they will send my file to US Embassy in Bangladesh?

    3. Once US Embassy in Bangladesh receive my case from NVC, how long it takes to send the first packet to my fiancee and what is in that packet include?

    4. How my fancee should prepare herself for that packet and is there any other packet should be sent by US Embassy?

    5. Do you guys have any idea when she could get visa if everything goes normally?

    6. We have 19 years age difference (29/48), is it a big deal?

    Hello Everyone,

    Please help me on this as I am kinda new and this is my first post since I've submitted K-1 last March 2015 for her. We know each other little more than a year. I visited her home country (Bangladesh) last December 2014. We got together at my sister's place in Bangladesh and had dinner together. We are engaged by verbally meaning our guardian level is agreed that we will be marrying each other. Now I submitted K-1 last March 2015 with all the required documents which include pictures. It is my feeling that this process will go for another few months. So I've decided to marry her which require to register this marriage in Government of Bangladesh. After that we can live together if I visit her. So will there be an issue to get K-1 visa in Bangladesh if we marry each other. Because I am trying to bring her as fiance but in the eyes of American Embassy in Bangladesh we are husband/wife.

    I appreciate all of you in advance.
