  1. I filed my AOS back in mid October and still haven't heard anything back! Am I still in the window for normal processing times? Do I need to schedule an info pass appointment? I've been so worried about my case in the past few weeks. I'm filing from NYC. Are other NYC filers experiencing the same delays om status change?

    Fingerprint Fee Was Received

On October 15, 2015, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXX5. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I also filed in mid-October, on the 16th, but I filed in Boston. My green card was approved without interview last week! It seems like they're getting to October cases now, so hold tight just a little while longer and maybe submit an inquiry in a couple of weeks.

  2. This is my first time posting in this group as there was nothing spectacular happening in my case so far and as late October filer I did not expect any update until the new year. I was casually checking my case status today and found that my I-485 was approved yesterday and the card is in production!! I am shocked as I did not even get any notification or interview waiver letter!

Did this happen to anyone else? I mean, my EAD case has not been touched since late October but with the green card in hand I can just work as well, right? I hope this is not a USCIS mistake and I actually get my card in the mail :wow:

Congrats, @KittyKahlor! I was in the same thread with you during Frankfurt embassy interviews in July :) It seems like you don't need an EAD or an AP!

The USCIS received my applications on October 16, but I still have not heard anything :( I have a job offer to start work on the 28th of December, and so this morning I requested for an expedite of my EAD. I know it's close to the regular approval date anyway, but I thought it couldn't hurt. Who knows what delays I could come across. I'll let you all know how it goes!

    Merry Christmas everyone

  3. Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, it wasn't the large envelope that everyone gets with your K1 visa, it was an additional, small envelope that they specifically told me not to hand in at my POE but to hand in with my AOS, which is why I suspect it is the DS3025.

I was told I would be given a vaccination summary but was not given a copy for myself, only this envelope to be submitted with my AOS.

I'm tempted to open it, as I know other people have done and taken a copy, but it specifically says 'do not open'! Ha!

  4. Hi all,

I had my K1 interview at the Frankfurt consulate in Germany on the 26th of August.

Everything went fine, but they handed me an envelope and told me to submit it with my AOS.

HOWEVER, they did not tell me what is in this envelope; all I know is that it's something to do with my medical.

Do you think this is the vaccination summary (DS3025)? Or the full medical examination report?

I'm hoping to figure out which form it is so that I can be sure what I am submitting.

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks for the input!

Yes, so I think the PETITION VALID UNTIL XXX means nothing because it's only in reference to when your actually I-129F expires. Which doesn't matter because you have the K1 now.

But I'm wondering what 'VISA SHORTENED DUE TO MEDICAL VALIDITY' means. Maybe they're just saying instead of my visa expiring on February 27, 6 months after the issuing date, it's expiring February 6 because of my medical date?

I really hope this is the case and nothing is wrong.

  6. Hi guys,

Today I finally received my K1 visa in the mail!!

    So happy!

But there is one thing that confuses me - on the printed visa in my passport it says:

    'PETITION VALID UNTIL 19-OCT 2015'

'VISA SHORTENED DUE TO MEDICAL VALIDITY'

Does anyone know what this means?

Above this it has the regular issue date of '27 Aug 2015' and the Expiration date of '06 Feb 2016' (6 months after I had my medical) so I'm confused about this 19 oct date and the medical part.

My I-129F petition was approved on June 19, so I'm thinking it's the date my petition expires (this doesn't affect my K1 visa though, right?), but the medical part is confusing me.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks :)

  7. Hi guys!

Had my interview on Wednesday and everything went super smoothly.

I just received notice that my passport has left the embassy - so fast!

However, I have entered the tracking number into the Deutsche Post tracking but it does not recognise it...

    https://www.deutschepost.de/sendung/simpleQueryResult.html

Can you guys tell me if this is the website you used to track your passport?

If not, could you provide me the link to the correct site?

    Thank you!!

  8. Hey there!

I'm an Aussie moving to Boston next week - had my K1 approved yesterday!

I lived in Camden, Maine for 6 months in the summer of 2013 - I love it up there and I often make trips up there with my boyfriend to visit our friends.

    Where in Maine are you?

Let me know if you need to chat or want some recommendations about cool places to visit :) rachaelhperry@gmail.com

  9. Hi guys,

I had my medical examination in Hamburg on Friday August 7.

The US embassy in Frankfurt has not received my results in the mail yet.

They also said I would received my vaccination history in the mail, but I have not received that yet either.

Can you tell me how long it normally takes for the embassy to receive the results?

    Getting a bit worried!

    Thanks!

  10. Hi guys,

This is specific to the Frankfurt embassy in Germany.

Can recent K1 applicants at the Frankfurt embassy tell me how long it took them to receive their passport back in the mail after their interview at the Frankfurt embassy?

My interview is on August 26 and I am hoping to start a course in Boston on the 1st of September.

Is there any way I can ask for an expedite of this?

    Thanks!

  11. Actually I think 3-4 days is the norm. I applied for a J-1 and F-1 visa before and each time I received it within 3 working days. Maybe the 2 week waiting period was due to technical errors and then the backlog which was created at the beginning of June.

Oh wow that's really promising to hear - thanks!

I did not dare booking a flight before I had the visa in hand as I read some stories of misspelled names, torn sealed envelopes and and and. After all this trouble I really wanted to make sure. I had been monitoring flights since my interview though and so it was just a matter of minutes to book it after the mailman rang :D

Oh i know I'm so worried about buying a ticket and something bad happening. Tickets to boston are so cheap right now it sucks that I can't book one!

  12. Hi guys,

I received my packet 4 this morning, too!

The consulate received my packet 3 on Tuesday morning, so they were very fast. I also only sent the email confirmation I received after making my fee payment. No bank account statement needed.

I just booked the August 26th slot an hour ago - sorry guys! I was really disappointed with the available times, too. I was hoping to be in Boston by september 1st to start a university course, but an interview on august 26th probably won't get me there in time.

It's crazy that so many were available for August just last week, and now they're all gone. I will be checking daily to try and get one of those earlier times. Sigh. At least things are moving...

  13. Yes, you have to wait for the residence history form in packet 3, but the request for interview form (page 3 of the checklist) you can print and sign from the online checklist.

We received our packet 3 on Saturday (it only took about 5 days for us to receive it from the consulate receive date!) and have sent off our packet this morning!

Fingers crossed we have all the required documents. I always get so nervous!

  14. Thank you guys! Thanks for clearing up the document delivery address. I filled this out on ustraveldocs.com so will just print the appointment confirmation after scheduling my appointment, and as you said it will be on there.

As for the payment confirmation, I only received an email with one line in it mentioning my receipt number, too. I suppose I will print that with my debit card statement showing the amount paid, as you have done.

I've also seen mention of a 'request for interview' page to be submitted in packet 3... can someone clarify what this is?

  15. I received my Packet 3 today also!

I paid my visa fee on ustraveldocs but I didn't get a printable receipt either... but that's what they ask for on the checklist?

What kind of 'confirmation' are we supposed to give them?

And I registered my desired delivery address, but it says we need to print a confirmation of this also??? But I don't see anything to print on ustraveldocs...

    Confused!
