Hi. I'm not sure if you will respond.
I'm pretty much in the same boat with my financed vehicle. However, I'm living in the states and have yet to register, or try to, register my car. The reason for the delay is because I came here, got married and started filing for permanent residency while staying in the USA.
What company was your car from? And were you in the USA before registering your car?
Right now I am trying to work out the steps and what is needed to make this registration happen.
I now have my green card, state license and SSN.
Today I called the CBP who then told me to call the closest port of entry. There they said I would likely have to try to refinance the car here or sell it in Canada and then buy a car in the U.S.
