  1. Good morning, today my I-765 was Approved, along with my Permission to travel Yay, (well its says it online for now ) however i have some questions that I'm not 100% sure on and seem pretty simple.

can i apply for jobs now? or do i have to wait for my approval letter in the post along with my EAD card.

or can i apply for jobs today, but only accepted offers and start actually work once my EAD card arrives.?

    thanks everyone.

  2. many thanks guys my via was approved 11 months a 1 days after filing the original paper work, Woooohoooooooo, pretty much everything above Tween states is correct , however the DS-160 is a little off as i had my DS-160- form and my appointment was at 8am, i arrived a 7am at least 100 people ahead of me (crazy right) however once the guy saw i had an interview for the k1 visa and a DS-160 from he also took me straight to the front of the line, where i got checked in and went through security straight away. my guess is if you have k1 interview , you get to go straight to the front.

overall it took me around 2 hours, I'm guessing that because my appointment was one of the first for the day.

  3. I've noticed loads of these kinda questions on the interweb, and they all seem to state different things, even the information the embassy supply when you get an interview doesn't state what you need to bring, yes they supply a link, however it doesn't work and when you do find the correct part of the website its doesn't state aLl the things you need. For example it doesn't state you need to bring your DS-160, however the DS-160 form receipt cleary states you need to bring this to your interview.

so my question is what exactly do i have to bring to my interview in London for the K1 visa. my interview in September 3rd 2015

    many thanks

    Steve

  4. Yuna, mine went straight from "ready" to issued status overnight (UK time overnight), didn't seem to show AP (maybe very briefly)at least from what I saw when I was checking. Two days in any case to get to issued. Hopefully yours goes to AP status soon so at least you know something's being done :)

quick question for you, first of, your diary entry of the embassy interview day is super helpful for a lot of people myself included, i do have one question you may be able to help with, when did you pay the fees for the london embassy part, once you received the Packet 4 do they tell you how to make payment ? or before? i only ask as I'm awaiting my interview date and have not been informed to make any payments yet.

    many thanks

    Steve

  5. My interview letter was dated 27 Aug for a 24 Sept interview.

In response to a enquiry I made via their Contact Form to add my Fiance to attend with me, they did offer to move it forward to Sept 13 but it turned out to be more convenient to leave it as originally offered.

which email address did you use to contact them ?

  6. i have applied for the K1 visa completed all forms, had my medical and completed the readiness form online.

however whenI tried to check my status at https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ and got the result 'No Status'. in the pop up which also says Please contact the U.S. Consular office you believe is responsible for processing your visa application.

Has anyone had this NO STATUS result when checking their status?

am i missing something, i have been selecting non-immigrant as I'm applying for the K1 non-immigrant visa, however i have also tried immigrant just incase and it just says Invalid Immigrant Visa Case Number.

    thoughts and suggestions welcome.

  7. This is the correct list. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_and_k_interview_checklist2014.pdf provided by the embassy. Some people may have things in addition to what yuna's fiance has. And it's difficult to confirm her list without knowing if he was in the military, previously married, has "no live trace" on his police certificate, etc.

In addition to the embassy checklist:

    ___Appointment letter

    ___Receipt of fee payment

    ___DS-160 confirmation

    And maybe:

___New letter of intent from USC (only if petition is expired)

___Subject Access Report from ACPO (if police certificate says "no live trace")

receipt of payment ? which payment?

Subject Access Report from ACPO ?

  8. many thanks for all the answers, so in the general scheme of things it would seem its better not to contribute to the uk pension while I'm away from the uk, with no intent to come back and just leave it as is and concentrate more on my personal pensions plans stateside along with my 401k. that seems like the best option.

  9. So just that he's clear on what he needs to bring with him to his interview next week, here's what we've got:

    Himself (obvious one!)

Available fingers for fingerprinting (also obvious!)

Passport (does he also need to bring his really old invalid one?)

    Long form birth certificate

    Police certificate

    I134

    employer letter from my sister

    tax transcript from my sister

updated letter of intent from me (just in case)

    DS160 confirmation

    Visa appointment letter

    US sized passport photo

    visa interview/MRV confirmation

He still wants to bring his I129F and additional evidence to calm his mind.

Have we got it all? :P

just confirm then this is the correct list? as no one seems to have said yes or no ? i only ask as I'm awaiting my interview appointment after having my medial last week.

  10. Has any got any ideas or suggestion of how to maintain their uk state pension, i believe from reading up (i could be wrong) you have to be paying national insurance contributions for around 25 year before you are fully entitled to a full uk goverment pension upon the governments decided retirement age.

obviously being 34 and paying since i was 16 , I've clocked up 18 years already, how do i continue to make national insurance contributions once i move and start working stateside for the remaining 7 years. suggestions and thought ?

  11. Ok so my NOA2 has Finally been approved (8 long months of waiting) and when it arrives I'm aware it tells what to do next, however does anyone know what these next steps are?

can i start them now before it arrives ? and therefore be ready and waiting to send to off again as soon as it arrives.

thoughts and suggestions welcome, just trying to ahead of the game.

    steve.

  12. I wrote an email to a congress aide that I know personally. Even though he was from a different state he helped me a lot.

perfect! I just sent mine an email and I've met him once before and my roommate used to work for him, but I'll call his office tomorrow anyway. of course the woman who does immigration stuff is working a hillary clinton fundraiser tomorrow so my request may not go anywhere fast. Thank you!

  13. I should've done that! Keep forgetting during business hours. Did you guys call or email them?

Get your senator, congress person involved. In some cases they helped a lot.

    Did you call or email?

I'm so sorry you're going through Texas :( We did too, with our NOA1 a few days before you and we got our NOA2 exactly 7 months later, in May. That being said, I contacted my senator on May 12 and got the approval May 15. I think it really helps.

Did you guys call or email? Should've done that weeks ago : / Kept forgetting during business hours and didn't know if it would really help. Thank you!

  14. Hi guys -

I know we need to be patient, but we filled our 129F and we received our NOA1 from Texas Oct 17th. We still haven't heard anything and have been watching others fill in their NOA2 dates... including dates where the NOA1 was received in Nov! HOW CAN WE MAKE THEM PROCESS OURS SOONER? We called USCIS and the woman just gave us the run around. I know they say 6-9 months, but I'm afraid ours is just getting pushed and buried.

    Signed, Impatient in CT

  15. I just wanted to say we got our NOA2 today, we got NOA1 on october 16th. Weve never posted on this forum but weve been looking at the posts for many months, youve all helped us a lot through this time with information and making us smile every now and then. Thank You, I hope every one of you get through this process swiftly and with as less stress as possible, good luck and thank you again.

congrats on the NOA2 , we received ours NOA1 on the 17th October 2014 a day after you received yours and are still waiting, so with a bit of luck it may only be a few days now. so without sounding like stalkers we will be tracking your progress for interview dates and the K1 being issued.

    Steve
