So basically if she becomes a ward of the state, then Im financially obligated (if she doesnt work and becomes a dreg of society)? What if we divorce after citizenship? She is not a cold hearted person, but I understand I am in a bind if she turned out to be, which is not my thoughts at all. We just dont work

Ive seen people married who live in differnt parts of the country for "work" reasons, no?
-
I'm 40 and don't plan on getting married again. As far as the affidavit of support,, there is no way to have her sign a prenuptial? She will be working soon and has family and friends here for support.

My wife and I are staying in different places and not sure if it will ultimately work out. We dont want to divorce, but were not completely in love either. I don't mind to help her get her AOS and green card, but please advise what you think we should do. I think the technical thing is to divorce and have her go back to Philippines, but I don't and she doesn't want to go back. I'd rather her stay and work and help her family...
Thoughts?

Just talked to uscis. They are fully aware of the move, they said ONLY send the 2015 return and w2, nothing else is needed.
-
I do have proof, recent pay stubs
-
I am commission based sales, I don't have a salary or an hourly wage
Did you send in the tax documents from the IRS showing that you filed?
Yes I sent in my W2 and my filed return
-
I've recently switched jobs in May and moved to California.
More evidence as in...?

I have the same job for 2015. I have my tax returns reprinted (turbo tax) and mailing out today. The funny thing is we already mailed these in (we triple check everything before we send)

And I read somewhere that the retirement account type stuff has to be valued at over 5 times the poverty guideline and mine doesn't have that much. Do I need to even bother? Just seems like they want more information than what's needed. I made more than enough shown on my federal tax returns, what's the deal?
-
I sent in tax documents, retirement accounts, bank accounts, etc. Now thy're asking for all the same stuff they already have but now have to reprint it all to show for this month going back.
Question, doesn't my income stated on my tax returns suffice the poverty guideline? Why do I need to reprint ALL the other supporting documents?

I made 62,000 last year and they have rejected my information because "Based on the documents submitted with form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the petitioner/sponsor, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the petitioner/sponsor's household size."
The poverty guidelines shows the following:
- $11,880 for individuals
- $16,020 for a family of 2
- $20,160 for a family of 3
- $24,300 for a family of 4 (I made $62,000. How is this not 125% of the poverty guideline?)
- $28,440 for a family of 5
- $32,580 for a family of 6
- $36,730 for a family of 7
- $40,890 for a family of 8
The funny thing is I made less the previous year when i petitioned to get her here. My income went up and now they're saying I don't make enough??? Anyhow this process has been less than smooth. The first time they rejected the whole application for AOS because I "mailed in the wrong amount". I proved indeed we paid $1070 and they admitted an error on their part. Now this! Please help she is dying to work and I don't want to go and inconvenience someone else to be a co-sponsor when I in fact, can support her and my two children. I've tried calling but all they want me to do is resend all the information THEY ALREADY HAVE!!!
TIA!

We are already registered we were just panicking because we didn't know where the visa was we didn't know it was connected to the passport LOL
-
You're a lifesaver thank you
-
By the way where is the visa at? Passport is right in front.
-
My fiancé is scheduled tomorrow morning to have the CFO seminar. Required documents are the original and photocopies of the passport and visa, both of which are sealed in the bag from the U.S. Embassy.
What are we supposed to do?
-
It is also asking for an original I-134 form? I have mailed numerous items to my fiance, none of which have ever made it to her home in Angeles City, including personal items. She, too, has never received one ounce of mail from any part of this process.... Is this normal?
-
I am getting mixed signals here (nothing new) between government and non government websites.
The embassy website says to bring a copy of the printed DS-160
But looking on the process on other non government websites there are DS-156, DS-156k and DS-157 to be filed as well??
Any advice would be great thanks!

Just paid for the interview again... Scheduled for next Wednesday
-
I emailed my senator this morning, too
-
BTW, I've called the embassy numerous times. There has been no conversation of SLEC putting a "hold" on our interview dates. If so, why would the call center be so eager to reschedule my appointment? See, not even the embassy representative told me of the process after I had explained she was going back for subsequent testing. I feel totally let down
-
Thank you very much. I will call SLEC tomorrow and ask for help. I am just looking back and seeing how messy this all got. We will be going on 9+ months after the 90 day wait... I've used up my 2 reschedules, I just think it's horeshit that no one at St. Lukes said anything to her as far as times frames. And you are right, unless you have a decoder ring, there is no way to know about the unexpectedness.

So if I pay another interview fee and get another receipt number, is there a CHANCE I can set up a new interview appointment?
