  1. My wife just had her interview a couple of days ago at the Dhaka, Bangladesh Embassy and I have some questions remaining.

    1) someone (presumably a clerk or assistant) told my wife that her birth certificate was no good and to bring another one, but later on the CO said the visa is approved and she was not given any form for additional documents. Is this something I should be worried about? Furthermore, the NVC case status site lists my wife's visa as "Issued; passport will be ready in a few days, etc"

    2) the medical result envelope which was originally sent to the embassy was returned to my wife, but was unsealed...should that be sealed?

    3) they collected all her original documents (marriage, birth, police clearance) and did not return them (they did not take any photocopies either), when will those be returned?

    4) they did not ask about or take the (2) passport photos, but returned the ones I sent to the NVC.

    3) I registered my wife's passport and pickup location approx. 1 month before the interview, but now I cannot login to US Travel Docs BD anymore and it won't let me reset the password. I already have the barcode page printed, do I still need access to the site?

  3. Your case complete is 23rd. Why do you keep asking what is your case complete. The 30th is just when you got the email. Doesn't it say when your case complete was in the email? The email always is sent out 7 days after case complete.

It's a waiting day. If you come over to the interview thread we know when they are scheduling and everyone stays tuned. Still a few weeks.

Did you call NVC and asked "Is my embassy XXXXX full for October interview scheduling?" Only ask about yours if you say is October full that is too generic.

Bangladesh is pretty fast. So you will probably be up for a November date at the end of this month. Did you check out the spreadsheet?

ok so I called the NVC and the rep did confirm that my wife's case has been in queue from 23rd of August. Although he could not verify the remaining interview dates or status of Bangladesh embassy, he said they are still scheduling for October, so fingers crossed

  4. Huh?? I didn't say that. I had no idea your CC is August 23. You said August30.

It matters not. You were put in the interview queue on 23rd and the interview dates are assigned in order. The next go round is for November and that should start probably September 26th for some embassies. What is your embassy?

Ya i definitely had CC from the 23rd, but I didnt receive an official email until the 30th, so do they schedule from the date I got 3 N/A's (and verified) or the date I received the email stating I'm now in queue? My embassy is Dhaka, Bangladesh.

  5. Some yes 6 weeks or so some still in the 30 to 45 days. They will say 6 weeks but the majority less than that.

Just be sure to read the NVC wiki to a sure you get through in the fastest time possible.

Meaning soon as AOS is paid you ship off your AOS and IV package.

the thing is its not 6 weeks from NOA2, its 6 weeks from after they receive the AOS and IV package (all fees already paid, ds260 completed). In reality its been over 6 weeks already...

  6. I petitioned my wife with an I-130. For the NVC stage, should I have sent original documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, police clearance)? My lawyer said sometimes then send a checklist and ask for originals, but on the NVC website it clearly states to send in photocopies and bring originals to the interview. One person I know that brought his wife already said he sent photocopies and another person who's wife will have her interview on Aug 2nd, 2016, said he sent originals. I sent in photocopies and now I'm confused on what to do.

  7. Whats going on with Potomac February filers? According to Igor's List, they seemed to have been breezing through i-130's during april 2016, but have been crawling along ever since. Furthermore, the list of unnapproved Feb filers is the biggest, while they have begun approving March filers already. The wait is just unbearable, and its heartbreaking to see them skip over Feb and move on to march...

  8. It's pretty simple to get an ITIN. Why are you giving money away when you can simply get an ITIN and file a joint return?

sending mail to my wife's country is very costly and time consuming. It would probably be about 3 to 6 months just to get the signed paper back. How long is it after I send the signed paper? 6-7 weeks? by the time its all said and done, i would have sent the aos already.

  9. As per the IRS themselves, they no longer accept any forms that have "NRA"

    https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/General-ITIN-Information

So what are people doing if they DO NOT want to go thru the hassle of obtaining an ITIN? Obviously the IRS states that you CANNOT put MFS and "NRA" in your spouse's SSN.

If I am interpreting the IRS rules, you can only file MFS or MJS only if your spouse has an SSN or ITIN...is this correct?

I DO NOT want to apply for an ITIN due to the time and hassle.
