  1. Darn it.... you had to say Russia! :bonk:

Just kidding.. I already knew that about it being a large recruit country.... I just figured well... I don't know what I figured, haha I guess we will just find out at our interview next month if anything has changed at the embassy from what I have read on here!

:) good luck with your upcoming interview my friend , you are going to be fine and have your visa in no time

  2. So after Obama addressed the nation on Sunday night, what does this mean for K1 visa applicants? Are only people in Arab countries going to have a more difficult time, or everyone? I feel as though they should be looking at people travelling to IS territory/ Saudi Arabia, and arriving home - more than just K1 visa applicants as a whole! If the terrorist had come on CR-1, they would probably would be looking more at that. Terrorists can come from anywhere, even withing the U.S. - people can even become radicalized online. Honestly, I feel as though the I-129f/K1 visa process is extremely thorough as it is, with the background and criminal checks, I wonder what else they will need to do - but I assume the process will now take much longer than 5 months. And probably way more denials will ensue. I know that nobody has any answers right now, since this is so new, but hopefully soon we will. I guess I'm just concerned and would like to start the discussion.

Just want you to know that this global issue is not contain or related to arabic countries only.. for example the number of fighters from Russia specially from Chechnya who have joined this evil group has increased over 300% in past 12 months (after Tunisia and Saudi Arabia Russia is the third country in export of terrorist fighters to join this evil group) ... So if the US government decides to have more comprehensive background check, which I think they should do, it should be apply to everyone regardless of the country of origin... but regardless of this issue president was talking about modifying the visa waiver program rather than K1 visa...

  3. Thank you very much for your response.

From the timelines on here, we noticed that most people get the packet 3 (K1 instructions) email within a day or two of the consulate receiving the case from NVC. After a few days, no email from the consulate. We sent them a mail ( asking them to clarify what the next step in the process is. In their response, they said they already mailed the instructions to ####@####.com for our case, and directed us to a copy of the K1 instructions on the website. We didn't recognize the email they listed in their response at all. But the case number and everything else was correct.

FYI, when you submit a mail to them, they state that they will reply within 5 business days. They took the full 5 business days to respond.

  4. My fiancee and I have been experiencing the same thing, "no available dates". Our case was received on 8/12 in Ankara and there was dates available at the time;

however, we didn't want to put the cart ahead of the horse and sign up for an interview date before receiving packet 3. Turns out, the consulate had sent packet 3 email for our case on the 12th, but to an email address that neither of us recognize. We just missed out on available dates because of this.

We have been checking regularly since the August 20th. All I have seen is one cancellation, which we noticed on August 21st for an interview date of August 24th. Not enough notice for most people.

If any of you have luck getting an interview date, please let us know. We will do the same for you. =) Hopefully, it will be soon.

How did you find out that the embassy actually sent you the email to a wrong email address? the embassy has received our case 12 days ago and we have not received any email... so I don't know if they have sent us our 3 pack email to a wrong email address or we should still wait for the email...

  5. Thanks Stephanie! greatly appreciate your reply

This is what I found on the Anakara Turkey Embassy's Website: Instructions for K1/K3 Visas

If this information is up to date, it looks like you have some additional forms you may need to fill out. You will get a letter in the mail from the Embassy which will request exactly what they want from you. You may also consider posting in the Turkey sub-forum for advice from other filers from that country.

    T

  6. Dear Stephanie, thank you very you reply. I just checked the CEAC and they changed the our status to ready and this is the message "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment." My case is in Ankara Turkey, and in the embassy website says that once we send you the package 3 then you need to go online and schedule you interview, pay the fee and then send the documents (form 134 and online DS-160)... but here in this message says that they will notify us of the interview... I guess now we have to wait to either they set up the interview or send us the 3rd package and the we set up the interview date...

Once your petition reaches the NVC it will be given a case number and forwarded to your Embassy. The Embassy will then contact the beneficiary (foreign/alien fiance) and inform of exactly what it needs prior to scheduling an interview. The beneficiary will at some point need to complete a DS-160 as well as a medical. You can visit the website of embassy and look up the information which will be required.

For the first question, you could probably go ahead and schedule your medical. CharlieTanger may be able to give you more insight on that. You will need to file an electronic DS-160 once you have your case number and invoice number available to you. You can complete that at any time. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/fiance_instructions.html

I'm not sure what the requirements are for scheduling your interview at an Embassy in Turkey. But before you even get that far you need to fill out and electronic DS-160 and follow the steps for submitting packet 3. Each Embassy is a little different. USCIS considers the K1 a non-immigrant visa. Embassies generally label it an immigrant visa. It's not entirely irrelevant at this point, but it's not going to have any impact on how your case is handled form here on out. You will fill out the DS-160 as well as what is considered your packet 3 and the embassy will tell you the next steps. Which embassy in Turkey was your case sent to?

  7. NVC has sent my case to the embassy and when I checked the website it says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." So does it mean they have already scheduled my interview ? if so where can I find the interview date that they are referring?

I know each embassy is different but the Turkey embassy only wants to forms DS-160 NONIMMIGRANT and Form I-134, is that all? I thought there were more forms in package 3... Also I am a little confused about the nonimmigrant vs immigrant visa... in CEAC I had to select Immigrant visa to obtain information about my case but it the USVISA.gov says that K1 is nonimmigrant...

  9. I have read from other people that sometimes it takes a few days for the number to show up, and that they kept getting error messages, even when looking in the right place and having the right number. Keep trying, it should work eventually!

    Thanks for the info

If its already been sent to the embassy you should be able to track it the website is ceac.state.gov make sure you are going to the immigrant section and not nonimmigrant

    Thank you my friend

  10. Thanks a lot for the info my friend

I see, so they NVC might send email directly to the beneficiary... since I have file the petition every though I selected the electronic notification USCIS never send any electronic message to update our status, we have only received the actual mail from them so I am not the sure that optimist that NVC would send my fiancee any email so to be on the safe side I will call them after a week or two.

  11. I rang exactly 1 week after that and they had received it. Then I rang the day after and they had assigned a case number. The first time I rang I spoke to a lovely lady who actually said to call everyday if I wanted, to get the case number as things can happen fast sometimes. Luckily I didn't need to call again after the 2nd call :) once you have your case number to can easily track it on CEAC.

Thanks a lot for the info my friend

  12. I posted this elsewhere today, I think there is hope in that the applications in the back half of 2014 are smaller than the first half of204 by a lot overall. Low numbers can't hurt in speeding things up. Here is what I looked at

I have spent the weekend looking over the data inside VJ using the tables. It seems to me that in the 2nd quarter of 2014 TSC got killed with more applications they could handle. In looking at our VJ data a number of applications in April and May 2014 were shown here to have moved from TSC to CSC and were expedited. If we can believe that VJ data is a representative sample of what is happening at USCIS for K-1 visa's I think I can see why they are not transferring any cases. The reason is that the number of actual cases (which they know measured in NOA1i applications) in the back half of 2014 actually is going down. Here is my table to show it.

no new prediction buddy? you used to come up with new numbers every once in while...
