Hi,
1. Did you call the Embassy? They always answer.
2. You may think you need to bring evidence and papers, but you really only need the required documents. They wouldn't accept any extra evidence we had, or any financial support documents. If you prepared your I-129F dossier well, and have no reason for suspicion, I think your fiance could do the interview alone just fine.
3. Did you know the August is the month of holiday in France? Most businesses are closed. I imagine the Embassy is very busy/ short-staffed.
4. Either way, tell your fiance to go to the interview. At worst, he explain what happened and ask for another day. I found the Embassy very kind.

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if you could help me.
Our CEAC status has been "READY" the past few days after our interview. They even changed our creation date to the day of the interview.
Now, however, it says "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING". Is this normal? Did all of you go through this process?
Thank you for any help! -
My status has changed now to Administrative Processing.
Is this normal? Can anybody help?
-
Can anyone help? Our status keeps updating, so I know they looked at it tody, but it still says ready....
-
Why do they change the creation dates?
-
We have not yet had AP.
I just concerned they may put us in extensive AP because I have read stories by VJers who have been approved but then but in AP for months.
-
We had our interview at the Paris Consulate, and they explained the technical problems that were going on. But they also said, "Congratulations, you will have your visa within ten days".
On the 26th June, our case status creation date was changed from April until 26th June. We got this message:
"Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application."It's been two business days, and we have nothing. Our last update was 29 July. I'm particularly worried about the aspect of extended Administrative Processing, because my fiance is Algerian and interviewed at the Paris Consulate. Can someone tell me:1. Why did they change the case creation date?2. Is it normal to be in "Ready" this long?
Thank you so much.

Did the interviewer said you were aproved ?
Did the interviewer said you were aproved ?
They said "Congratulations, you are approved!" but I am still nervous about potential AP!! Especially with all these technical systems down.

Hi,
We just had our interview at the Paris Consulate today, where they said that they, along with other consulates worldwide, are having technical problems and can't issue visas.
Has anyone else heard about this?
Best,Melinda

Thank you all SO MUCH for all your help!
Just for the record, the guy on the phone was a complete ********* and lied entirely. I was not only allowed into the Consulate, but also at the interview!Just a question... Our Case Status still says "Ready" after the interview. Is this normal?
Thanks! -
The guy seemed just to want to get me off the phone... But other visa journey couples have done it, and it says on the visa journey consulate page that finances are allowed... If you read on the internet, it's encouraged!
If only someone could give me recent feedback?
Omg, they let the k-1 couple in??

Are you sure? I called today and they said no!!
I'm really scared because I planned on coming with.
Did you do the I-129F or the I-30? Was your husband Algerian as well?
-
Urgent!
We have our fiancé visa interview tomorrow. Am I allowed to come with him? Did I have to notify the embassy in advance?
Thanks!

Here is a warning to everyone in Paris to never use or employ the agency Davron Translations.
We paid 220 euros for two documents to be translated. At this price, you would kind customer service and attention to detail.
We asked for a translation from Arabic into English. I confirmed before paying that it would be a direct translation.
We then get an email of our documents checked into French, I was confused, but sent them an email and they confirmed it would be into English.
We found multiple careless errors, such as names spelled wrong, and numbers mistyped. We also noticed, be cause we are fluent in these languages, that the Arabic translator not only mistranslated, but forgot to translate parts all together.
The agency refused to fix these mistakes. Upset, nearly in tears, I called a woman saying I needed these documents urgently. Instead of listening to the blatant spelling errors, she screamed at me on the phone until I cried, and hung up.
We then went to her office, where a nice young gentleman began to talk with us. She walked into our conversation, screaming at the top of her lungs, refusing to let anyone speak. She threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. She did not even explain why she wouldn't correct the missing translated parts, just screamed and screamed.
Our visa interview is in two days, we are traumatized, and still have incorrect documents with errors. When we told her that a year's worth of efforts would go to waste, she just screamed, "I don't care!"
Never, ever go to Davron Translations in Paris.

Why do you say that?
-
Had anyone found any statistics or numbers about what % of people around the world go through AP? AP that involved background checks, not the kind where you are just missing paperwork!
I would be curious to know statistics, if anyone has them- particularly what % of Muslim countries go through AP!
-
Hi, did your husband finish AP?
-
For August, definitely! It took us nearly a month to get packet 3, so you should be fine! You can schedule it now, but dates for August won't open up unt July. What I mean is: you can schedule an interview for only one month ahead. So if you wanted it in August, you'd have to wait until July.
-
So I know that Lauren and Martine didn't need anything to bring to the interview from Packet 3, but we just got ours today and we definitely did! Our lawyers says it goes by case-to-case. So I would wait- just to be safer! It shouldn't take long.

No one has replied to this?
-
Hi,
I want to just reinforce the question that Laureb has asked a few times, and that no one has yet answered!
Did the Paris Consulate send you anything from Packet 3 that you needed to take to the interview? Any papers that they send in the mail!
Thank you!
-
I'm so sorry about your fiancé. Please keep me posted about progress!
Did they tell you at the interview that you needed AP? How long did they give you?
-
Hey, thanks so much for your kind and researched answer!
The thing is, though, your financé doesn't have any other choice, as you say, but to interview at another consulate! I've read that scary PDF so many times, and I've read of a case on visajourney of someone from Algeria being in AP for over 1 year! My father just died, and the idea I being away from my fiancé that long just kills me!
I wish there was a way to predict in advance!
