  1. Congrats.

    What questions were you asked?

The questions were very simple that you will know for sure about your spouse:

    - his job title

    - adress of our home

    - when I entered the US

    - when we last saw each other

    - how long we know each other

    - if our wedding was arranged ??

    - how many guests we had

    - if my in-laws were present

    And that was it!

The whole interview was more like drinking coffee with a friend. She was asking and smiling?

  2. Had my interview yesterday, I was asked 4 questions, yes that's all

    1. Where does your wife live now, when I answered she said she used to live close and how nice the area is

    2. When did she move back to the USA (we used to live in the UK)

    3. What job does she do, and where

    4. Have I ever lived overseas over the age of 18

That was it, the CO was really nice and friendly

    Thank you!??

    Congrats

  3. Hello my friends:)

The time has come and we finally got a date for my interview appointment with the embassy in Greece...October 22nd!!

There are probably many topics on that matter but I was wondering what kind of questions they will ask.

Let me give you some background on my case:

We applied for cr-1 since we got married almost a year ago (!) October 29th 2014. My husband has dual citizenship, greek-american. We are the same age and we met 2.5 years back (2013) while I was an exchange student in New York. Before we got married I was denied a student visa because the officer wasn't convinced that I had the intention to return to my country after the studies. As you can imagine I am a bit scared that they will give me a hard time...

    Sorry for the long topic?

Any advice will be highly appreciated ??

  4. Hi everybody,

We have been patiently waiting since the 1st of March for NVC to schedule an interview with the Embassy in Athens, Greece. Does anyone have any information about the Embassy in Athens? Is it normal for them to take this long just to schedule the date? We filed our papers back in June 4th and this has been taking soooo long that we're running out of patience, so any information at all will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank youuuu!!!!

I know it is an old thread but how long did it take you afterall? Any other users waiting for an interview date in Athens?

  5. Hi natife,

If I were you, I would wait. You're very close to getting a response (one week, probably) and there is a slight chance the NVC might oversee it - it actually happens a lot in the Brazilian embassy, where they're very strict with police reports.

What happens there is that people come to the interview with police reports missing or from incorrect sources (believing they're fine and that the NVC did all the checking), and then they get denied.

So, in case you're approved with the NVC, make sure to take your Dutch report to your interview.

If you send your report to the NVC now, it will reset your scan date and they have 30 days to review it. If you do get a checklist only for your police form, there is a chance they might approve earlier, I think.

Good luck (and keep us posted on how it went!)

Thank you so much for your detailed response :)

I am actually thinking the same way. If we have one chance to get approved right away why risk it and send additional paper that will make the case more complicated??

Our lawyer hasn't been helpful at all. You guys are so supportive and awesome❤️

  6. Hello friends!

Our case is currently at the NVC stage with scan date August 17.

A week ago we realized that except from the criminal record from my birth country (sent to NVC) we needed to provide them with criminal record from the country (Netherlands) I did my master's degree? (lived there for 2 years)

Even though we have a lawyer he never told us about that. I discovered it online as I was preparing for a possible future RFE...

I contacted the department of justice in the Netherlands and they sent me my criminal record afterall. But what do I do with it now?? Do I send it to the NVC even though I received the letter saying that they are examining my case?? Or just wait for RFE??

  7. Am not so sure about PCC. There are few things which could be the reason

    1. I applied PCC through dubai police website. In website it was showing "Good Conduct Certificate" and the title of PCC is also same.

But this time I went to police station and applied directly and then they gave me a certificate titled police clearance certificate. Also NVC mentioned in checklist tht I need to go to police station withe the required docs.

    2. My PCC was about to expire when I sent it to NVC

I didn't realize that I had to send also a certificate of good conduct from the Netherlands because I studied there for 1 year??

Our scan date is August 17 so maybe I can send that additional document to the nvc before they reply with a checklist?
